Zed is dead?
And this is what he said, “Don’t want no shortnin’ in my bread.”
I was just about to shut down for the night, when I saw my opportunity. Sorry. I just couldn’t pass it up. Now I will have to see what was going on in the previous conversation.
Fox is to news what the WWF is to sports. And the same audience watches both.
gnome! wigwam!
I have to confess that I took in some roller derby as a young child. but we didn’t have remotes then.
Hey dosido. Hey gnome.
I have a perverse fascination with the Military Channel. Watched an hour and a half of the Battle of the North Atlantic tonight.
I remember moving from Arkansas to Nebraska as a kid.. Discovered that WW Wrestling on television at the time… on Saturday mornings after cartoons.
Nobody had to tell me it was all an act then. When a little kid from arkansas can spot a dumb yankee that easily.. something is terribly wrong.
Here’s the current headline at HuffPo:
I thought that the lobbyists spent that last three months writing the health-care bill. If figured that they were the only ones who knew what was in it.
Gorgeous George!
Ah, sounds like a “good” war with winners and losers and closure. maybe we liked knowing it ended finally?
the roller derby girls always smashed up the other teams trophy. hilarious. It was made out of cheap wood that smashed apart pretty easily. LA Bombers!
Yup. And Afghanistan is sounding more and more like Viet Nam.
LOL. I don’t remember the names.
The english language could use a ten year moratorium on the words closure and robust.
What’s on my mind? A very emotional tour-de-force by Ed Schultz on the topic of health care.
I want to tell Schultz to breathe deeply and calm down, yet it’s refreshing to see someone call out the GOP for their delay tactics, and their foot dragging, and the dehumanizing results of their stalling.
I can understand that Schultz’s passion and (sometimes) bombastic style isn’t appealing to everyone.
But his tour-de-force is honest.
I’ll give him that.
He’s saying what DC dances around: every single day that Congress does not act, more lives are badly impacted. This is shameful, inexcusable, and — ultimately — back in 1944, those Americans didn’t fight their way up the Omaha beaches in order to ensure that one day healthCos could profit at their expense.
The GOP is shameful, and whether you like Schultz’s style or not, at least he calls their bullshit out for what it is.
If I wasn’t so tired, I’d type quagmire…or quaqmire. That’s a joke.
Girl’s gotta take the hound dog to bed. zzzzzz
Hugs to all.
You mean politics isn’t about fake body slams and garish makeup?
Who knew?!
I feel cheated.
Personally, I really like people who call out the BS. Why else open your pie hole? Unless you’re saying uplifting and loving things. Like, I also really like my FDL friends. No BS.
And at the end of the day, we find there is very little of either qualities.
They mean: “So That Lobbyists Can WRITE Health-Care Bill”
I don’t watch that time slot during Summer… so I won’t get to know Ed until the winter months. The top post at open left tonight is about the WH saying they are not preparing D’s for passage of triggers.
But I am with the Ed’s of the world… as you describe them. And will be as long as the Admin and too many Congresscritters are not demanding strong PO or better without equivocations.
Gorgeous George
You’re prolly too young :(
Yeah, some days I just have to push back from the intertube machine and walk away. If I pay too close attention I get too depressed. This sausage making business is not a good thing to watch.
Can we add “emboldened” to that?
Hee hee.. I moved to NE in early ‘71.
EWWWWWWWWW, that gal cannot sing. She makes Ashley Simpson look good.
Yup.
She can’t even sing badly.
Off to watch Ed on the link.
Back later.
I liked her bad singing. I guess one has to know their other work.
I like her version of Bad Moon. Sometimes a cover can seem odd because you are so used to hearing it one way.
let the healing begin.
sure, if we can toss in empowered
Sounds like she’s just havin’ fun to me.
Ya just gotta have the ear.
Everyone’s a critic.
O.K… But “cogent” is out too.
Ashley Simpson can’t sing badly. She can only lip-sink badly and is an awful, awful human being.
There’s a bathroom on the right.
Just saying, if you need one.
OJ’s kin?
De gustibus non est disputandem.
The first Cantor segment in the Ed video… it seems like Cantor is about to bust a gut… he knows he’s spewing pure BS.
The ‘bathroom on the right’ is where…
‘you got to change your under-wear’ by Santana
as is anything that’s ever escaped the mouth of Carly Fiorina
Not at all… especially when they vary and change as often as mine do…)
Yeah, but it doesn’t seem to stop him. Or slow him down, even.
You’re being weird. Meet me in the other room.
y not b weird
Eric Cantor is a puppet of Liberty University (Jerry Falwell’s indoctrination camp).
Heh. )
as night falls, I’m sick of hearing “at the end of the day”
Grandma always said you catch more flies with weird than with normal.
Or something like that.
Haystack Calhoun!
Pepe Gomez!
Ray And Pat Patterson!
Kenji Shubuya!
Killin me. I’m 12 again.
LOL
punaise jr. is two steps closer to getting out of Honduras: a ferry ride from Roatan and a 3 hour taxi ride to San Pedro Sula. mixed reports on whether airport will be open manana, however.
Morris, meet Mr. Demi, aka ybnormal. I know, you all must think we’re odd. There’s a strong santa ana condition here. Makes me more nuts than usual. Could be worse. We could be falling asleep on the couch watching tv.
I like that, I think I’ll use it sometime.
Bless ya ROTL! Right effing on!
ah, did you see me at #21?
we’ll leave it there.
Wow.. How long has Jr. been down there?
Oh, gosh. Best of luck with that.
yikers!
hey, did you catch my comment epu’d earlier? Are you ready for the Regents’ Rumble at Cal tomorrow?
My Grandma used to come in the bedroom at night, wrapped in tin foil going ‘mmmmrrr-mmmmmrrrr,’ Cause she didn’t know any lullabies.” (or something like that) -Howie Mandell
“at the end of the day”
“as the sun pulls away from the shoreline, and our boat sinks slowly in the west”
- Spike Jones, and his Wacky Waikikians
A pure and nasal old time rendition of the original by Credence Clearwater.
I thought it was done well, for the old timey thang.
Other’s? Critics? They Not so well hip to the genre.
Oh well . . . *G*
I jumped right in, crepescularly – missed your prior comment.
bottom line, let’s retire at the end of the day.
I am in no position to think anyone odd. Believe me.
Santa Anas nearly killed me today, couldn’t get anything done. Blessedly there’s now a cool breeze in the Marina.
no problem. At the end of the day, it’s just more testimony to how overused that phrase is. :P
a two week jaunt that may well be extended involuntarily.. unfortunately classes start tomorrow at UCSC. cutting it too close.
Alright you two, before you get too emboldened… At the end of the day, it’s all good.
sure did, thx
‘word’
The song she did, and the WAY she did it, is pure flatted note old timey.
Within that old timey genre, if one KNEW how they DO songs, she’d be heralded.
I herald her. She was fine, what she sang was ON PURPOSE!
Those not knowledgeable, or accustomed to, the genre, would easily find it ‘not right’.
But to me, it’s right there, and spot on.
Gotta know yer music. *G*
Yeah, Ashley make me puke, too . . . *G*
And my Grandma used to make honeycake. We all have our cross to bear.
I don’t watch either, but that’s partly explained by not having cable…
I have to throw my monitor off the roof now. Good night all!
We’re in the Valley. Slight breeze. It doesn’t bother some folks, from what I hear. A science teacher in college told me it has to do with electrons (?) and a person’s chemestry. Or something.
when all is said, I’m done.
also
She’s the one part of the video I wasn’t impressed with. I’ll reserve judgment until I’ve heard her sing something else, but she’s not doing well so far.
G’nite Word. I really must retire now. I just keep hitting refresh. Somebody shoot me, please.
Ions? I remember there was a fad about ions maybe a decade or two ago. Either negative or positive ions were supposed to make you feel better, or something. I can’t say I paid it a lot of attention at the time.
thanks for playing!
Goodnight, Wordbloom.
P.S…
I like the Bastard Fairies cover of Bad Moon Rising!
It’s got a fun beat and you can dance to it.
btw the opening credits to the video mentiona Joey Stronzo – Italian for ‘turd’… tough name!
and yet another Spike Jones inspiration
“Never hit your grandma with a shovel”
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..re=related
My studio is in the Valley so I sympathize.
‘night.
Yes. Something like that. Thanks.
speaking of ions and chemistry, i had my aura photographed tonight for the first time. I have a lot of “love” energy apparently, but my physical being needs to move more…so i need to sign up for yoga classes. Interestingly enough, the guy ahead of me had the same looking aura (mostly yellow). he needed classes too. hah
OK gtg, goodnight all!
I’ve got to post iffy videos more often… you guys actually comment on them. *s*
Tomorrow night you get the history of musak. /s
Shorter Eric Cantor: We’re so busy obstructing health care that we don’t have time to obstruct economic recovery or the war in Afghanistan.
I replied to the wrong comment – just pick any grandma comment
Goodnight, dosido
G’Night. My ex-husband lives in the marina. I also sympathize. Har har and Ta.
how about a one act play by Ion Eugenesco?
“Don’t go round tonight,
It’s bound to take your life.
Thereeeeeeeessss,
A Bathroom On Your Right!”
“I never liked the way he sings,
But I love the way he talks.”
Up On Cripple Creek . . .
so then let’s obstruct Eric Cantor, and go with
Eddie Cantor – Makin’ Whoopie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANRPmTZRqkg
I seem to remember something about that other room
> > > > >
Does he sing? Does he do Ramones covers? *s
A drunkard’s dream, if I ever did see one…
((Rick Danko))
Okay, okay, okay.
Let’s hear it for, Garth Hudson on the Clavinet with wah wah pedal
Still listening to the Ed Schulz video. I agree that there is an urgent need here. Why does HR3200 not kick in until 2013?
Thanks for the party, Eureka. T’was fun.
Oe reason I’ve heard is it will take time to pool money into a public fund ready to handle the newly insured.
The other is.. folks will be so angry the Dems don’t want it initiated until the 2012 elections are over.
Nite demi… anytime, thank you.
Oh, dear. Didn’t know your son was in danger. All the best to your family.
They “need time to pool money”??? Why can’t Helicopter Ben simply fire up his printing press one more time?
I’m gonna take the second option. They could do the public option as part of Medicare or Medicaid, and it could be up and running in a few months, maybe a year. They simply don’t want to lose insurance company campaign cash, and they’re going to put off the pain until after the next Presidential election.
He will.. as soon as pharma and insurance secure their additional customer base with mandates.
Agreed.. they certainly could phase a great deal of it in much sooner.. with completion set for 2013 at the latest, if they wanted.
Would probably be terrific stimulus for the bottom 90 percent and many small and medium businesses as well.
But that is not the plan.
They certainly could, just by starting with either those who were uncovered or who were in particular need of medical attention. They simply don’t want to. At least, enough of them don’t want to that it won’t be done.
I got lost in the YouTubes.
Kitty Daisy and Lewis

I’m blanking on who did this in the ’60s. Oh, wait it was Canned Heat.
Time for this old dog to turn in.
Good night firedogs
Yes, me too, I’m afraid. Goodnight, all.
Thanks Eureka. Great fun.
Next time you fire up opera, turn on the turbo and take a look at the amusing things it does with FDL. I’m pretty excited, it’s improved loading speed a lot – maybe 50% or so.
thanks Loo Hoo. At this point it’s probably more a matter of inconvenience and delay (and added cost) rather than physical danger. The coup regime is unlikely to target gringos. If he were in the capital we’d be very concerned.
