Chuck Grassley, who thinks like he twitters, is now pretending to be mad because apparently the Obama Administration long-ago (?) figured out his little game on pretending to negotiate:
“I’ll tell you, there’s some things that the president has said since then that I took very personally,” Grassley said. “He gave some speeches during August in which he was associating me with efforts to make this a political document.”
Well, golly Corn-pone Socrates why would he do that? Oh right… you sent this out in early August:

Peter, Paul & Mary
Things are a changin
The verdict is in: Shame is dead.
these are similar to words spoke by JFK at his inauguration
The times they are changing
heading to bed……… Lordy I really hope the times are a changin….
Is Senator Grassley a NAIL? He’s looking like a NAIL, waddling like a NAIL and quacking like a NAIL. Maybe he should see his doctor.
Impugning the character of two-faced wingers is, like, impossible.
The more I listen to Grassley, the more senile he sounds. Either that or he’s doing a pretty good impression of Sen. Spector [sp?]
Chuck would be Iowa’s biggest embarrassment in Washington if Steve King up and died. Morans.
Have two parents 86 & 88, will soon be 89…… Ya he sure sounds like the elderly, too bad there are so many senators who are in their late 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s……… Nothing against age but don’t they deserve to retire?
Good morning, pups. It’s Bobo and Krugman this morning. Bobo says “No, It’s Not About Race,” and that the backlash against President Obama is the latest iteration of a populist tendency against money being siphoned off by condescending elites and going to those who do not work. Bobo is a horse’s ass. Prof. Krugman, in “Baucus and the Threshold,” says Max Baucus’s plan for health care reform needs to change, and the direction in which it changes will determine whether it is a bill worth passing.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got apple walnut muffins. I give up. What’s a NAIL? Given that the topic is Grassley I’m willing to bet it doesn’t stand for New Adventures In Learning… Have a great day.
And Buchanan is yucking it up on Mornin Joe “holding down the Southern front”! Hardy fucking har
Retire, you call that work?
Good morning, Marion. It wasn’t a puzzle, it was one of Senator Grassley’s own tweets about the subject.
It is a little early.
Ah, thanks! If he thinks he’s a nail I’d surely be willing to smack him with a hammer…
Bang bang maxwell
A nail is a type of tool, is it not?
Americablog has an answer to the insistence that Pres. Obama targetting isn’t about racism, here;
http://www.americablog.com/200…..n-gop.html
Warning; many will find the content objectionable.
Grassleys been in the senate too long 30 years and he’s got moss growing on his back.
This guy is a good example of a politician that’s been around too long ,he’s forgotten who actually sent him there and now that he’s there he doesn’t want to leave and as long as big money keeps donating to his campaigns he won’t have to .
Guys like Grassley are in a win win situation , if they support the heath insurance lobby they get plenty of money to keep on running and if they lose , there is always a high paying job waiting for them at some insurance co. or something
Isn’t the standard response from Limbaugh, et al, “But, but, I was only joking…”?
Amusing ?
Small things amuse small minds
A joke exists when some one is entertained, not when everyone is appalled, I would think. Yes, that’s the usual excuse for offending.
Racist humor seems to have that in mind.
But there was Lawrence O’Donnell on Keith saying that Chuck is just a simple guy, who really doesn’t understand why the President would be angry at him. Mon oeil, as those Frenchie elites say.
Chuck is just a simple guy, who really doesn’t understand why the President would be angry at him.
and like most of the other Old White Men of The Senate, he also doesn’t seem to understand videotape, the internet, or that computers have printers.
These are tough time for the oldster pols who used to be able to simple get away with – “I never said that!”
“Senator Chuck Snake-In-The-Grassley”.
/Chris Berman imitation
It sure seems like a populist tendency to be organized by big money elites who don’t work – they just siphon off money from the rest of us.
Anyone who votes against health care reform or works to kill it is either the anti-Christ or a fascist capitalist! So which is it Grassley….are you the anti-Christ or a Brownshirt?
I’d definitely vote against the Baucus bill as it’s written now
Meanwhile, from inside the BlackberryBubble, things look a little different:
I believe it was Tuesday afternoon of this week when Pat Buchanan was on right winger Howie Carr’s radio show in Boston a few minutes before Pat was to appear on Chris Matthews’ show. Pat & Howie kept calling Matthews “Comrade Chris” to insinuate that Matthews is a Commie. Then they started in on Mika & Joe too…insinuating again they’re Commies.
Funny how ole Pat loves those Commies, huh? He can’t seem to keep himself away from them! From now on we will call Buchanan “Comrade Pat” and refer to all like as the same. Besides, Glenn Beck’s office is in the Communist Bastion of NYC, Rockefellar Center, so therefore they truly are all Commies according to Beck’s famous analysis recently!
I think it’s pretty obvious that the only people who are surrounding themselves around the Baucus bill are those who worship Big Insurance. But! The rest of us want real reform and those who are working against it are either the anti-Christ in expensive clothes or a Brownshirt who is working to destroy the welfare of a people. Grassley needs to figure out which one he is along with the rest of the republicans and Blue Dogs who are currently walking around with a Big Insurance dildo sticking out of the arses!
He could be both.
Anyone that denies that racism is a factor in the current political climate ,must live in a bubble
I’ve seen it and heard first hand
Yes wingnuts I mean you
Yup !
I’m sensing a change here. I love that Pelosi spoke up and she did it in a way that showed she was saddened by the discourse rather than with an equally venomous attack.
In a perfect world health reform passes with a public option
And Grassley gets voted out of office for failing to support reform
Ahh ! We can dream !
OT. How do you spell “Z” in Farsi?
She’s standing up to the wingers very well, and they hatez it.
Off to work, feeling some optimism.
Yes, I believe that the republicans and the Blue Dems who are standing against health care reform are the ones who will be the real losers in the end. A bill will pass this year (or they’ll wait until after Kennedy’s seat is filled and will vote then) and those who voted against reform (if there’s no public option in it, then we have to work hard to get more progressive Dems into office in 2010 and then we’ll use the implementation period to have it added in before the deadline)……will feel the wrath of their constituents. Individuals and small businesses need health care reform because it’s bankrupting them. They are the ones who will be the loudest voices against the anti-Christs/Brownshirts! :-)
Attaturk,
Thanks for the post. Not surprising. I like the Ed show interview with Rockefeller. He even slipped into the interview that even with all his years on the intel committee, there was NEVER any good faith negotiations, and then he emphasized, “And THAT was on national security.”
So there was never any “good faith” negotiations intended for health care.
That comment alone is defining a line in the sand moment.
First, I believe aggression towards others who look different than ourselves; the different part is an excuse, not the cause. I would bet that if everyone looked exactly the same we would still be fighting each other. Question: are idenctial twins ever aggressive towards each other? Let me say I’m not on the republican side of the arugement.
Humans biggest problem is emotional unintelligence. I have come up with a theory of everything in a particular field(it may be wrong), but when I get angry my frontal cortex is short circuited. Just some food for thought. Please pardon the poor spelling.
This geezer has long passed his sell by date. Gramps needs to take his ass home and sit on the couch watching fox news with the rest of his ignorant constituency. I’m glad Obama finally smacked him down for his ramblings. He’s clearly a doddering old man who can’t remember what he’s said from one minute to the next.
I bet government is spending a lot of $ now for secret security agents protecting elected officials!
