Good Morning, good thing I have insomnia so I could start this thread off.
Right there with you, Milineryman. Insomnia strikes again, no sense going back to bed.
Jeebus, Tweety is a freaking moron. He’s actually let that co-opted corporate whore Ceci Connolly on the program to talk about health care? Remember that Ceci is the reporter from WaPo who was the “bait” for WaPo’s pay-for-play dinner with the health care industry. Health care folks ponied up 25K to finance the dinner so that other health care industry members could have access to Ceci. Have to wonder who sold Tweety on having Ceci on the show.
Any bets on whether Tweety even mentions this connection?
Morning all, Woke up to the sound of the heater being on. Calender says it is still summer.
Not one progressive in the whole freaking line up. You’d think at least they would get Tom Harkin who is taking up the Senate HELP committee—but no—that wouldn’t send the message Rahmbo wants out there.
Glad I’ll be working!
See y’all some time tonight.
Just watched Tweety panel, they agree that with the race issue being confronted by the usual crazees, its scary out there. Ceci calls Rush the head of the flatbirthers.
They all think Pres. O. has his MoJo back, tho.
A favorite moment from the news coverage of the flatbirthers; old man screeching that the gov’t can’t run Medicare, Medicaid and social security at a profit, how can they handle health care.
Still giggling.
In D.C. they showed they looked better under their sheets and hoods.
tweety was on vacay. No mention of WaPo pay for play atall.
The Millionaire’s for Wealthcare (Health Care for the Wealthy) featured on WashJournal footage.
See http://seminal.firedoglake.com/diary/8094
What is a flatbirther?
Tweety isn’t home..it’s Nora. Pretty good health care discussion, I thought.
Good Morning, Insomnia here too…what is it?
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo, Friedman, Kristof and Rich this morning. MoDo, in “Boy, Oh Boy,” says Joe Wilson’s outburst in Congress revealed one thing: Some people just can’t believe a black man is president and will never accept it. The Moustache of Wisdom, in “Policy Has to Match the Sacrifice,” says in Iraq, for way too long, our policy did not match the sacrifice of our soldiers. The same mistake cannot be made in Afghanistan. Mr. Kristof, in “The Body Count at Home,” says about as many people who were killed on 9/11 die every two months because of our failure to provide universal insurance — and yet many members of Congress want us to do nothing? Mr. Rich, in “Obama’s Squandered Summer,” says this was a silly summer, as wasteful in its way as the summer of 2001, when Washington dithered over the now-forgotten Gary Condit scandal while Al Qaeda plotted.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I picked up some chocolate croissants in my ramblings yesterday. I’m off outside to do some long overdue weeding and cleaning up. Have a great day.
Combination of ‘birther’ – http://www.urbandictionary.com…..rm=birther
which refers to the element demanding Pres.O. produce his birth certificate, claiming he is not eligible to be president -
with flatearther, referring to the Flat Earth Society that would not accept scientific evidence that the earth is round, as in
http://flatearther.com/ .
Good Morning. Isn’t there supposed to be a march in Washington today of Progressives?
Blah, blah, blah….I’d rather poke my eyes out with a stick than watch the villagers and politicians wank…
Hadn’t heard them combined into one word before.
So, that makes Pawlenty and Flatbirthertentherdeather?
I would enjoy that, but it’s getting a little complicated for the crazees.
Pawlenty made himself an a**hole.
There’s no chance Tweety mentions Ceci previous “situation” pimping the industry.
Morning all…
I’ve heard only about a rally tomorrow out here in N.TX.
Just saw something on this a DKos. The poster said it’s not well organized. I believe that. What is our problem? We raised a mil for Wilson’s opponent in days thanks to progressive sites pushing that, why aren’t FDL, DKos, TPM etc using their reach to promote a march in DC?
That’s a sad sound.
Good Morning folks,
Last time I was here I was talking about how the human electromagnetic field, that low voltage electricity that that courses through your nervous system, literally dances to music, and that music can be used to bring order to this field. I had also discovered the Coherence Burst, and the Polarity Burst, which are two things that happen in the human EM Field that have never been observed before.
Upon further testing, I’ve come to the conclusion that the human EM field is conscious in and of itself, which means that I may be one of the first people to quantify the human Soul.
I wish I was a Nobel Prize winning scientist, or some sort of celebrity, because it could take a while before anyone takes a street musician seriously.
But you heard it here first.
Good question, where’s Tom Harkin?
The schedulers have rolodexi, they need to add a few progressive names.
Elegant resistance
They were gorgeous. But the teabagging sort seemed not to get it, not surprisingly.
Truly a**holes are made, not born. It’s a beautiful day for a walk and as I’ve been rained out for most of a week, I’ll bid you fine people good morning. :-)
He’s an anti-healtherFlatbirthertentherdeather
Or, as one of Steve Dallas’ girlfriends called Steve: “He’s a real jerkface”
would require some kind of thinking to figure it out, and we’ve seen the quality of their “thought” processes.
mMmm chocolate croissants
Maybe better health care would help.
Kay Bailey Hutchinson, running for President of the Republic of Texas,
comes out firmly as a Tenther.
It’s worth a try
How did it get to the point where it was Obama who created czarness?
K. Ba’al-e can’t lag behind Perry with the flabbirther electorate. This makes it ever brighter for the Dems like Schieffer and Kinky, who haven’t managed to alienate everyone with slightly dark skin tones.
HEY, YOUNG ACTIVISTS: WHERE THE HECK ARE YOU ON HEALTH REFORM?
Harold Pollack, HuffingtonPost

I spent hundreds of hours working to elect Barack Obama president. Working even harder alongside me were thousands of college students and 20-somethings who used their social networks, taught me the name “Will.i.am,” nudged parents and grandparents, knocked on doors, and got out the vote. President Obama would still be Senator Obama if young people hadn’t made that heavy lift.
Where are these same young people today? Polls indicate that 18 to 29-year-olds strongly support the President. Yet young people seem fickle and strangely passive, watching from the sidelines as others wage the political knife fight required to get this done.
We can all offer some reasons why: It’s hard for 20-somethings to get excited about free colonoscopies or co-ops and the public plan option. Some of this stuff is mind-numbing in its complexity–particularly if you feel decades away from needing most of the medical care we are now discussing. Maybe my own move from HuffPo to tnr.com has soured the younger demographic. Maybe it’s summer vacation.

Obama came up with the idea while studying at Moscow State University in the 1950s.
‘nother day of rain here, going to go do some cleaning things since I’m going to be confined.
Thx for good tho’ts and have a good day.
Think somebody’s an asshole? Ask them, “Were you born an asshole or have you had to work at it?
Links are easier on the bandwidth and avoid copyright issues.
LOL!
I forgot about that…
It’s gloomy here too.
What is a “Tenther”?
I’ve wondered the same thing. When Reich called for a march on Washington for the 13th I thought progressives sites, journals etc. would promote it. Nary a peep. Change in America is an outgrowth of “movements” not elections. Women’s sufferage, union, civil rights, envirnomental, etc. Do progressives think “street politics” are passe?
A believer in the tenth amendment. That is, if a right isn’t specifically spelled out in the constitution it doesn’t exist.
On “West Wing” they addressed this lunacy and asked “Do I have the right to put cream in my coffee?”
Tenth ammendment to the constitution dealing with states rights
I hate to be critical, since we all know the value of progressive sites, but it’s the only tool we’ve got to promote a march and no one’s using it.
The coordination of rally’s etc is definitely disjointed. There is a rally here tomorrow that I intend to attend. It is the Mad As Hell doctors bus tour. To many groups trying to lead.
And there’s also Larry Flynt’s call for a general strike. I twittered it, hoping it was going viral. Virtually nothing.
Good Morning Elliot and Firedogs -
WaPo’s Pay for Play designated fall guy resigns
linky
Claiming that any power not specifically granted to the Federal government
in the Constitution devolves to the states. It was used to defend slavery back in the 1830s.
Here is a typical present-day case,
involving the distinguished governor of Minnesota.
The 9/12ers have many bizarre claims, but this is one of the most bogus.
I saw that. At least there’s some accountability in the Village.
Talking about the “students” does anyone know if they held teach ins on campus over the last 8-9 months on the need for universal health care? During the Vietnam years colleges and universities held them to educate students on the history, politics and military situation in that country and the U.S. involvement and intervention. It was a great way to educate and mobilize.
That guy apparantly was hired to organize the project that had been defined before he came on board. He really is a fall guy.
Kent Conrad is not the person I want to hear from on the public health care debate…
And then there’s Claire McCaskill putting the public option aside.
Lindsey Graham thinks the American people are ascared of the public option.
Hatch let the state’s do it.
Fox News Sunday
thank goodness.
Man, we’ve got so many new labels for these people, birthers, truthers, tenthers, 9/12ers. Maher was talking about the “million moron march.” Moron seems to encompass all these other labels. Or maybe it makes it more difficult. The birther sect of the moron cult. Oh, well, thought it was a good idea at the time.
a sad tell, she is a designated WH transmitter
it is sad indeed
Kent Conrad and his gang of six are the designated health care reformers — so there!
Joe Wilson and “the shout heard round the world.” – Chris Wallace.
The gangs are getting smaller. Used to be a gang of fourteen.
Joe Wilson apologized because they told him to, so he’s civil even if he still says the President is a lying liar. — Joe Wilson
A more concentrated gang of tyranny
The American political system has been shamed by the likes of the racist asshole Rep. Joe Wilson. If the republicans wanted to gain credibility, they would censure Wilson themselves.
Love it.
Wherein Chris Wallace once again pisses in his father’s face.
Joe Wilson is wearing some kind of medal
He brought the house down in MN yesterday. Everyone’s looking for someone to stir up the peeps. Ecce stir stick guy.
It must be the douchebag of the month award.
Life Alert, i.e., “Help I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” pendant?
every week.
Brit Hume on the teabagger march-
It is a further reminder on this issue, almost all the intensity is with the people who are resisting.
TK Jr. on 60 Mins, tomorrow on Larry King. Yes, I know it’s a book tour, but if I were Slippery Joey I’d be watchin’ my back. I’m seein’ a candidate rollout….
true that.
The right wing has destroyed a lot of good words and names, either intentionally or as an unintended result. Of course they intentionally damaged words like Democratic, liberal, government, and welfare but they’ve also co-opted and ruined concepts like Christian, townhall, free speech, First Amendment, Second Amendment, etc. Now they’ve ruined the name Joe Wilson.
Grassroots organizations usually can afford a bus with custom graphics…
Bill Kristol has no problem with ramming through tax cuts, that doesn’t cost anything
but they are railroading this [health care reform] through so of course it has to be stopped.
indeed!
you may be right, he’s quite the speaker.
OMG, I just want to hug Halo and say, “Good doggie!”. Great video. Thanks for posting it, Elliott! :-)
Ceci Connolly rehab tour continues on Reliable Sources….
*G*
Shame!
