It only had to soften and deform. Remember, also, that steel and concrete are heavy (concrete weighs about one ton per cubic yard).
Talk to structural and materials engineers; you’ll learn more about what happened.

Simple experiment:
Build a model with something (doesn’t have to be large, but needs to weigh a pound or so) sitting on a plate supported on pillars of frozen ice cream. I think I can promise you that the model will collapse before the ice cream melts into a puddle. (You could use candles for the pillars, but they’d have to get warmer than the ice cream pillars do.)

this is exactly why i think it was a HUGE mistake for the left to always be so dismissive of “truthers”. no matter how you sliced it, the mainstream Al-Qaeda “conspiracy” narrative doesn’t add up. there are more unanswered questions the more you look into it. does that mean i think there was thermite in the WTC? not at all, but it does mean i still have a lot of unanswered questions that — when looked at from a historical perspective at prior incidents like the Gulf of Tonkin, Pearl Harbor and the Reichstag fire — certainly would lead one to believe that something fishy was going on on 9/11. why haven’t progressives asked these questions by and large? simply because they don’t want to be marginalized… well, i hate to break it to ya, but in the mainstream media we’re already marginalized and always will be by a corporate power system that (rightly) sees us as the enemy. and now we’re playing semantics with we said-they said. who cares what Van Jones said? he had every right to ask the question that every American should have asked and should still be asking — what happened on 9/11?

The sheeple are listening because there is no response from the White House or any of their mouth pieces. Moreover the White House is telling progressives not to bother pulling them or the blue dogs back to left.

They have sold us out. Can we start raising money for Dennis Kucinich or Anthony Weiner for a primary Challenger for Obama in 2012?

Since we’re asking about definitions in this thread.

I’ve been wondering about the FDA reference I see a lot.

Other then the Food & Drug Administration, I’m not sure, or least not 100% sure.

well they dont. if you think that the republicans, who are a wholly owned subsidiary of the banking and insurance industry want that bill killed, then give it some more thought. the only thing washington dems (including the president) and republicans are fighting over who will get the lions share of k st lobbyist money in 2010
