Voting against the public option would be a catastrophe for the Dems and they had better wake up to it. Obama’s numbers are falling because he is pushing for a semblance of bipartisanship, not because he voiced support for a public option in the past. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if a ‘trigger’ is set in place, Insurance Companies will milk the current environment in anticipation of an coming changes. I think she is right, that conservadems (which include the so-called “moderates”) are in more danger than reliably progressive ones on this issue, if only because the latter offer other benefits to their constituents. I know here in Montana, Max is in real trouble, with several powerful county party committees already committing to primarying him if he votes against or otherwise scuttles the public option.</p> Damn!
