I caught the same thing– Blue Dogs and conservative dems that vote against the public option will lose in upcoming elections as will many stalwart liberals and progressives. Voting against the public option would be a catastrophe for the Dems and they had better wake up to it. Obama’s numbers are falling because he is pushing for a semblance of bipartisanship, not because he voiced support for a public option in the past. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that if a ‘trigger’ is set in place, Insurance Companies will milk the current environment in anticipation of an coming changes. There motto is, and has been, “Get while the getting’s good”.

Mara Liasson has been shill for the Neocons for a long time. I have called her out to NPR for her bias lots of times. Take whatever she says with a grain of salt. And remember that NPR stands for Never Provoke Republicans.

Damn! Liasson saying something sensible is almost scary. I think she is right, that conservadems (which include the so-called “moderates”) are in more danger than reliably progressive ones on this issue, if only because the latter offer other benefits to their constituents. I know here in Montana, Max is in real trouble, with several powerful county party committees already committing to primarying him if he votes against or otherwise scuttles the public option.

Why is NPR’s Mara Liasson a Fox news contributor? Fine, be an occasional guest, but why are she and Juan Williams doing double duty? They’re blurring the line between news (NPR) and entertainment (Fox).

I was wondering when NPR would find a proper heir(ess) to Cokie Roberts.

I for get who described Cokie as the “…irrepressible purveyor of conventional wisdom..” but Liasson seems to be shouldering that wheel nicely.
