Boner

“House Republicans want to hear what the president has to say, but after the public outcry this August, it’s clear the American people don’t want a new speech. They want a new plan.”

The idiots still think they speak for the American people. Chronically delusional. There are special wards for such folk at the funny farm.

The idiots still think they speak for the American people.

yup. But in Boner’s world, there are *way* fewer American people to speak for. Mostly corporations and the top 1 or 2% in accumulated wealth.

The rest of us – we’re not “people”, we’re just a pain in the ass.

Last year in the United States, almost a third of people ages 65 to 69 were still in the labor force; in France, just 4 percent of people this age were still working or looking for work.

Those lousy French.

At tea party protests, Palin’s is the name heard most often amongst participants. In El Paso, Texas Wednesday, the crowd chanted “Sar-rah, Sar-rah.” One hot item: “Draft Sarah Palin 2012″ t-shirts

The health care available to Federal employees is no different than that offered to the general public. Same plans but cost less due to the number of people enrolled. I would imagine Federal employees are subjected to the same abuses everybody else is with the exception of pre-existing condition caveats.

Things fall apart. It is certainly starting to look that way. If unemployment worsens they might well fall apart. Obama’s election crystallized a crisis in American society that has been larval since the late 1980s and is now bursting out of its cocoon for all the world to see. Whether we do fall apart or not will depend on the suburbs, where the bulk of middle-class people now live. If they move to the right, we are finished. I am actually optimistic. Obama is one cool cucumber, and he couldn’t not have seen this coming. Hang tough, hold your noses, and cover his back.

Health care will ultimately collapse the economy. Obama’s band aid will likely do nothing but delay the inevitable. It didn’t take too long to realize the people chose poorly but then what real choice did the people have? The system is far too corrupt and ossified for any meaningful change.

Private health insurance and the increasing reliance on the financial sector, and even the Wall Street types have laid off tens of thousands of workers, will spell disaster. Not everybody can work at Mickey D’s or Whole Foods. Without a return to an economy based on manufacturing the future doesn’t look good.
