Countering the Lies about Health Care Reform

By: Gerald McEntee Thursday August 13, 2009 8:50 am

All across the country, the opponents of health care reform are spreading misinformation about President Barack Obama proposals to improve health care coverage for all Americans. We shouldn’t be surprised about that. The insurance companies, the right-wing radio hosts, the K-Street lobbyists and the Republican leadership who are spreading the misinformation have a vested interest in keeping the status quo. They are willing to lie to protect industry profits.

Obama’s First Rendition Looks Very Questionable

By: bmaz Thursday August 13, 2009 8:11 am

If his first publicly known rendition case is any indication, there may well be a legitimate question as to whether Obama’s rendition program is even more repulsive than that of George Bush. More evidence will be required for an informed answer, but Obama is off to a very auspicious beginning.

Marcia Fudge: Will Only Vote for a Bill with a Public Option

By: Jane Hamsher Thursday August 13, 2009 7:10 am

You can see Allie ask her question on the local news. They didn’t get Rep. Fudge’s response, but I think that’s good enough to provisionally put her in the “only with robust” category. She is a 676 cosponsor and serves on the Education & Labor committee that co-authored the bill. If anyone has video of the event and Rep. Fudge’s response to Alllie’s question, send it along.

Connecting The Eyeliner Dots On the Rove Role In DOJ Firings?

By: Christy Hardin Smith Thursday August 13, 2009 6:00 am

With the recent release of a myriad of e-mails, documents and breathy reportage and leakage, it’s no wonder that Rove and Gold Bars Luskin tried to get themselves out in front of the wave by giving multiple “exclusives.” Oxymorons notwithstanding, when you have bad PR coming your way, it’s always better to stand in front of it shouting “look, over there!”

It’s like the dogs in Up.

There are 47 million people waiting to read your copy of “Highlights,” you selfish bastard

By: TBogg Wednesday August 12, 2009 7:15 pm

You know what will happen if you add 47 million uninsured people, who should otherwise be dying in their squalid ghetto-hovels, to the health care system? They’re totally going to all show up at the doctors offices at the same time

Will Michele Bachmann Denounce Her Son’s Entry in Obama Re-Education Camp?

By: Teddy Partridge Wednesday August 12, 2009 6:00 pm

Last year, speaking about President Obama’s planned expansion of AmeriCorps, Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann said she’d have a hard time if her child joined up for the planned re-eduction. Now that her son has enlisted in Teach for America, will the Congresswoman denounce him?
