Wall Street is licking its chops.

Unfortunately for Beck, it turns out that Fortune 500 companies don’t think calling the president a racist is particularly good for business.

Joe Lieberman told ABC’s This Week that we should postpone efforts to provide health insurance coverage to those who can’t afford it until the economy is sufficient recovered. That’s how Joe makes himself the guy we have to placate to get anything done. It’s what he does.

David Walker, head of the Pete Peterson foundation and noted Social Security slasher, is also on the bill at an event hosted by the Rand Corporation.  Cooper, who now has 16% approval among Democrats in his district on his handling of health care, should feel right at home.

If any primary challengers in TN-04 were waiting for a signal that Jim Cooper was vulnerable, the Daily Kos/Research 2000 poll of his district should be a welcome signal:

Paul Krugman’s Monday column laments the fact that the disastrous laissez faire economic/regulatory policies the country has followed since Reagan continue to hold sway even though their devastating failures are everywhere.

I couldn’t help thinking about all those kids in America for whom the start of school means something else entirely: two meals every weekday. How tough would it be to be that young and already have learned that lesson?
