All very nice to toss around accusations, but do facts count?

State Senator Mark DeSaulnier was the one among the competing candidates who actually voted to support single payer health care reform (SB 840, Sheila Kuhl’s 2008 bill). Progressive? Mark has 100% voting record from the California League of Conservation Voters and Labor Unions and fought for gay marriage in California.

Mark was also endorsed by N.O.W. and asked to run for the highly contested seat by Congressman George Miller, one of the most outstanding progressive voices in Congress today. So, how do you define progressive?

They sure seem to hate America, don’t they?

Under the Bush Adm it seemed obvious they hated the rest of America including any democratic /liberal tendency minded Amrican troops or veterans.

Something tells me they wouldn’t care for Iran either. Perhaps Somalia is to their liking?

A political CLASS system that created it’s own civilian defense force (exactly as Obama decreed) seized the countries banking system, automobile industry, freedom and health care, forcing an entire country to depend on it’s big brother to exist.
All of the above is exactly what the conservative movement is forcibly against.
All of the above is exactly what the Progressive movement (Progressive word is disguised as Communist) is advocating.

I can’t speak for BlueTexan, (yet here I am trying anyway :)) I thought he asked the question more as an example of what the media would be asking IF the media were fair. In other words, he wasn’t painting the right with a broad brush, he was questioning why, when the media paints the left with such a broad brush they don’t do the same for the right. If they did do the same thing, then that is the question they would be asking.

At least that’s how I read it. As always, could be wrong though.

“Why does the right hate America?” This may be true, and perhaps this is meant more as a rhetorical flourish than a description, but, to be fair, the events you’ve cited don’t support such a broad conclusion. If we are to criticize e.g. Fox News for making similar broad, unsupported statements about the left, we should hold ourselves to the same standard with respect to the right.

Except Olberman actually thinks, uses actual facts, and actually cares about the people of the United States instead of the corporations and their lackeys.

O’Lielly is bloviating lover of butt-plugs, racism, and, of course, himself.

The entire concept created by the Rethugs that all they had to do is say, “Well, they are doing it,” somehow excuses them. Except that what they say is patently untrue. (SEE EXAMPLE ABOVE).

Another example of this is the spate of wingnuts calling Obama a Nazi. This is complete lunacy. This is what I would expect from a sixth grader with brain damage and an attitude. But this is their strategy. They know from other propagandists that one sure way to diffuse accusations is to accuse their opponents of the same thing. Doesn’t matter if it is true. They are not interested in reason. They are interested in power: the power to tell everyone what to do on pain of torture, imprisonment, or death. Remind you of any twentieth century regimes? Think toothbrush mustache and a red white and black color theme.

Progressives must stop thinking that being rational will somehow convince the fascists. They must give them the name they deserve–REPUBLICAN. The sooner people start realizing that Republican actions are exactly like NAZI actions, the sooner they will kick these loons to the curb.

Last century, the liberal world got together and kicked the living shit out of the fascists. Please do not let America get to the point that the rest of the world must get together and kick the living shit out of the RepubliNazis.

But, push come to shove, I will become part of the resistance. I will fight the RepubliNazis and lay down my life.

Yes, I believe in rational discourse, I’m a progressive, after all, but there comes a time when progressives must realize that thugs do not do rational discourse!!

Get serious about arresting the people who make threats. They are little Timothy McVeighs in the making!! They are right wing terrorists.
