Here’s the list of Short Ride Joe’s other items to delay because "There’s no reason we have to do it all now."
– End America’s war on Iraq
– End America’s war on Afghanistan
– Investigate Bush-era war crimes
– Legislate on global warming
– Address our lost civil liberties and some who’ve never won their civil rights
– Investigate Bush-era crony contract capitalism
– Reform our criminally deranged financial system
– Sort out America’s criminal justice system
– Pass the Employee Free Choice Act (remember that?)
Really, in the face of this mild downturn, it would be best if our national legislators — especially the Senate! — would use their time wisely, like Rape Gurney Joe does: prep for Sunday talk shows, raise money for re-election, and scold the President for trying to do too much to clean out the Augean stables left for him by the Bush/Cheney cabal.
Because this recession will be over in a flash! — and then we can get to all these pesky tasks Barack Obama got elected to accomplish. But not until the recession is over!

Juck Loe Fieberman.
Meet the Jettisons!
Really, Teddy, we’ve been waiting for you. Worth it.
I sometimes make lists. It helps to know all that needs to be done.
Thanks.
My contempt…………
Hi, Teddy.
juck foe lie-berman
He is so odious.
My lists are carefully crafted by Mrs. Bong and are usually titled: Honey-Do.
Alas. (Also)
The Jettisons!
What a great name for the Harry Reid wing of the Democratic Party.
hiya Twain
“He’s with us on everything but the war.”
–Hapless Harry Reid
I can think of one action that needs to be taken immediately. Strip Jiltin’ Joe of his seniority and all committee assignments.
Please forgive me for posting this also on other blogs’ comment threads. I believe it’s an important and pressing question I haven’t seen answered.
Why aren’t we marching in the streets about this? The numbers on our side dwarf those against the Iraqi invasion, yet not a peep is heard about showing our strength in favor of real health care reform.
Keep ANSWER and their issue hijacking agenda as far away as possible. The more popular liberal blogs are the place to organize. If they and Move-On can provide infrastructure to raise funds, they can help schedule street marches.
With numbers around merely a million in the streets, let’s dare the media to ignore us once again, after they’ve abetted, even incited, the tea bagging gun toters who shout down the town hall meetings. Let’s dare our reps to ignore us again too. We have precious little time to affect the outcome of this, and accepting defeat at this point is our worst possible move. Move-On, certainly, but Move Now!
I’d like to delay JoeL’s return to DC from vacation, by about six years. He won’t be missed, except by the GOoPers. It isn’t like he needs the money, either. I’m sure Hadassah’s paychecks will cover most of his wants. Maybe if she gets him that 120-color box of Crayolas ….
In other words, Obama should be more like Herbert Hoover and less like FDR?
I’d ponder that more, but just trying to logic that out would probably strip a few gears in my brainbox.
I still wonder why Joe was not stripped of all his committees the man is not a democrat. I was under the assumption that the deal was that he would be supporting the democratic agenda.
I remember a thread where in you told us how long you’ve been married. I guess now we know why.
I’m very careful not to micro-manage my husband. That’s just me.
And make him strut up and down the Mall wearing nothing but a sandwich board that says, “I am an obstructionist schmuck.”
In Joe’s World that makes perfect sense. Just like claiming to be alligned with the Democrats and campaigning for McCain.
September 13. So I’ve heard.
Read today that Reid is in a whole lot of trouble. The polls are looking very bad for him. TeeHee
Rudy, I believe that’s a form of trolling. Be careful, or you won’t be welcome anywhere.
Besides, what makes you think we aren’t doing anything? Going out in the streets doesn’t work when it isn’t covered on the news – and it won’t be.
Hiya Teddy!!!!!!!!
Hiya firepups!
Don’t forget he squashed any Hurricane Katrina investigation.
Lieberman is definitely a Hooverite, except for the compassion.
Hey, Snarky! Welcome back!
Whazzup?
Beautiful diary this am, btw.
FunnyWheelieDiva
If we are real lucky we could be rid of a bunch of these weasels.
Hi Cassie. What’s news?
With friends like Joe, who needs enemas?
And most important of all, we mustn’t do anything about Big Pharma costs that might ruffle Hadassah’s well-coiffed feathers, now mustn’t we….
Hey, Cassie! How’s life treating you these days? Have you started back to school yet?
Of course, RGJoe may be supporting Obama’s agenda. He’s certainly enabling Max Baucus’s agenda, which might just be Obama’s agenda via Tom Daschle.
I start my senior year tomorrow.
Thanks, PJ. I’ll write directly to the featured writers instead. I disagree with your assessment about the press reaction, however.
I refuse to believe he’s THAT small…
After promising to investigate during his re-election campaign.
The man is a liar. But I suspect he’s telling someone’s truth this morning. “Wait” seems to be a very popular viewpoint among the members of the World’s Greatest Deliberative Body.
‘evening Teddy & Firepups!
Slimy, odious … my contempt for jucking Foe Lie-berman is beyond adequate adjectives.
hey K
Mrs. Bong does not supervise, or in any other way manage my activities related to “the list”. I get “big picture” assignments and complete artistic, logistic and fiduciary licence to complete them (in a timely manner, of course). Alas (again), these are things I’m WELL aware need accomplished. Keeps us both happy.
;~P
Maybe Joe would loosen up if Eric Holder would agree to prosecute those awful Lamont hackers.
And, also, I wrote an open letter yesterday to Levi Johnston and his sister Mercede. Their mom pleaded guilty to drug charges last week and is going to prison for three years.
It’s just like the rest of life. You wouldn’t walk into someone’s party for the first time and tell everyone Just How It Is. Ya gotta kinda slide in. Check out the crowd. Adjust your lango accordingly. Then, it will be fine.
Well, good luck to you–too bad you have to serve another year before you get to college where you belong!
Nicely done. I suspect it may help some others.
Indeed.
Shit, Rat. I felt bad last night saying that, now you gotta bring that UP?
No. Really. We’re still newly weds at 5 years plus, at our age. He and I give each other a lot of space and it works really well.
I read it. If there’s any justice in the universe, it’ll go viral.
The concept is really quite simple. If you elect dumbasses to the House, the Senate, and the Presidency, you are going to get dumbass government. If you got rid of all the dumbasses in the Senate, there probably wouldn’t be 5 left. Same thing in the House. We’re talking maybe 20 out of 435. As for the White House, it would have a vacancy as well.
Well done.
Skinny Ass Pants On Fire.
what EDP said. Hope it goes viral.
I’m certain you know how lucky you are to well matched. It’s hard enough to find people with whom we are truly compatible and absurd that some are so arrogant to believe they have the right to tell others with whom they may or may not form a pair bond.
That he wasn’t stripped of his chairmanship of the DHS committee isn’t a mystery. It’s a reflection of where the Senate is at. As for supporting the Democratic agenda, look at Snarlin’ Arlen. He waltzed into the Democratic caucus and was welcomed even though he said coming in that he wasn’t going to support the Dem agenda.
no no no! it is way cheaper to earn college credits through AP exams. If I do this right, I will have 16 or 18 college credits when I start.
Be nice for once to be offered a choice of candidates who are not both dumbasses.
Yes, and then you will be ready for the more advanced (and harder, but more fun) stuff.
be nice for once to be offered a choice of candidates who are not both lying dumbasses
“Let me introduce the candidates. Puny human number one…puny human number two…and Morbo’s good friend, Richard Nixon.”
Here in Montana, we generally get our choice between some degree of dumbass and a stark raving imbecilic nutter in the general election.
Good on you, Kassie.
Strategic Educational Economics, I like it!
One of the math teachers at my HS was qualified to teach Jr College calculus…my only college C, but I got the credits and they transferred!
FWDiva
Yes, I know. I’m blessed. And, once in a while a make a good choice.
Takes one to know one.
We performed at church this morning. He’s a keyboardist and sang Jesus on the Mainline. Had a professional slide guitarist play with us. I hung back and did back up vocals. It was awesome.
They would certainly be easy to spot since they would be the candidate saying, “I really don’t deserve your vote…”
What part of the Obama agenda has Joe supported since Obama went to bat for him with the Democratic caucus, and let him keep his chairmanship? I guess he probably voted for SCHIP and Lilly Ledbetter, but those are leftover from the Bush Admin.
Has he actually voted for anything Obama proposes?
Actually that should be several stark raving imbecilic nutters. I keep trying to forget about the Libertarian, Constitution, and assorted other political whackjob parties that abound here and make our Republicans look sane and coherent (they in turn do the same for Sarah Palin).
Was your class like this?
;~P
Just wanted to say welcome and that is the great question of our times. Americans love to make fun of the French and what pushovers they are, but the truth is they wouldn’t put up with this shit. They would be in the streets and close down the whole country. I wrote about this recently on another blog. But I think it relates to the fact that middle and lower class Americans have been generally punked by the political elites for the last 30 years. Do you remember the protests at the Bush inaugural? Or the demonstrations against the Iraq war? They simply disappeared from our history. The media didn’t cover them. Politicians from both parties acted like they never happened. The problem is that when the great majority of the population becomes so disconnected from their government when there is a reaction it can be quite explosive. I have great concerns where the country and the economy will be in 2011. I see depression and an environment not for political action but of social unrest.
We occasionally get a good choice. I think the late former senator Paul Simon was an intelligent and decent human being.
Well…it was the ’80s, era of Big Hair…
FWDiva
Yeah, my generally-unreliable source was explaining the seniority system and how it can’t possible be fixed to get competent committee chairs. (At least, it can’t be fixed by the Senate. Or more accurately, they don’t want to fix it, since it would require that they actually do something useful.)
At best ours tend to be so-so, like Tester. Good on some issues and not so good on others. By the way, anybody still want our governor? You can have him cheap.
Point taken, demi, but I believe I’m actually asking how it is we are not doing what has been standard for our side since before we were children.
If this is a social group uninterested in discussing our best means of advancing the agenda we support, that’s perfectly fine. I unfortunately just don’t have the time to participate in that kind of “pull up a chair” chit chat, and don’t say so to belittle it in any way. I’m sure you are very much my kind of folks, or you wouldn’t be regulars here.
How many of us marched against the Iraqi invasion, knowing it wouldn’t change a thing, but it was the right thing to do? I did, and saw a hell of a lot of others in SanFran do it too. In this case, our numbers could actually change things, and its exactly the right response to hundreds of crazed sputtering town hell raisers. That’s their side. Our side is peaceful, rational, and outnumber those fanatics a thousand fold at least.
I believe it could happen if we willed it to. Thanks for your response.
I actually got cut out of two of my AP classes because the counselor is a complete idiot. Only 32 kids fit in the physics class and 38 of us signed up, so instead of looking at who had the best grades in Alg 2 or regular physics, or starting a new class, she just dropped all the kids on free lunch. Cause we’re not gonna complain, right? Well I complained and I told her I will buy the special AP calculator before I buy clothes or make-up, so put me back in that class! Besides, there’s a military dependant fund for stuff like that if I know I need it ahead of time.
How many in the house and senate are not:
crooks
phylanderers
liars
charlatans
deeply closeted gays/but only the entire world knows
dumbasses
dimwits
lawyers (cheap shot, sorry)
old white dudes (this includes difi)
whores
and
nerdowells
Well if it was quantum physics, you could probably fit 38 kids in a classroom built for 32 by chilling them to absolute zero.
One in the House, none in the Senate.
On review, I think Kucinich is a lawyer, so none and none.
Optimist.
Your counselor may just be the most worthless excuse for a school employee since mine. (His “counsel” was always the same: join the army. I think he was getting kickbacks from the Pentagon.)
Ouch! Never been called that before.
What about Bernie Sanders?
Fantastic, Teddy!!!! You’re so good at telling it like it is, now they way the pols like all the Joes to spin it. Sure hope Alec Baldwin does run against him!
Folks need to know this from LA Times today

Healthcare insurers get upper hand
Obama’s overhaul fight is being won by the industry, experts say. The end result may be a financial ‘bonanza.’
Huge headlines at HuffPost introducing the article. Well, at last, I thought, maybe now ordinary folks (if this gets reproduced and picked up by MSM – what are the chances of that? – can understand about what’s going on.
Feeling a spiritual connection with the Mad as Hell Doctors (They’re a fascinating group!) Hooray for them; may they pick up thousands upon thousands to join the “drive/march” to DC by the end of Sept.
Blessings to all
When or if you get to know The Lake, you will see that there are different types of threads and different, sometimes, people here. Late night has its own ambiance. Jane Hamsher has done a lot of strategizing, bringing folks together to make a difference in the political landscape. There are many times when we are organized and inspired to make phone calls and send faxes about specific issues. Money is raised. Christy Harding Smith focuses on Judicial Issues. Marcy is a fabulous researcher and whistle blower.
Sometimes we Pull Up A Chair and share gardening tips, going green helps, and generally share what life feels like.
Welcome to The Lake.
She also didn’t want me to have financial trouble with the novels for AP Lit. But I already bought them! I even started reading a few. So there!
Could be, at least he’s not a lawyer.
You need to keep in mind that the Senate has done very little this year. And most of what Obama has done is very conservative anyway.
And if you stay for late, late night it can get, well, rather tasteless. But I am only clowning around here.
When you write “could actually change things” as part of a comment about the anti-war marches, what are you actually saying? That marches in the street could have an effect on the health care debate? The peaceful and rational townhall meetings aren’t being covered by the press at all. The rallies on the Mall weren’t covered earlier this year. The media seems to have decided how to portray this debate — what makes you think street marches will be part of their narrative?
And welcome to Late Night!
Thanks, m
I was just reading that fewer than half of Obama’s appointees have been confirmed. Disgraceful.
Do you think their lack of action is the “deer in the head lights” syndrome due to the banking/economy thing. Or are they just scared shitless because they suddenly have power that can used for the people and not their masters?
Would it be better or worse if he picked actual liberals.
The Party of “No.”
Then we should picket the news media.
Reich is calling for a march on DC on Sept 15, I think.
Have you heard about the Mad As Hell Doctors who’ve left OR/WA ??? driving across US in an RV and hoping to link up with tons of folks on the way to reach DC by late Sept. to raise hell when they get there. Great website tells about the doctor bios and the route. Sorry I don’t have, but google
Mad as hell doctors.
Blessings,
Hey, Teddy, you noticed I didn’t even attempt to describe what you do here. You are fabulous beyond words. I mean it.
The longer this debate lasts, the longer they have to fundraise on it.
As are you dear.
Probably far worse, but perhaps not. Remember that the nature and degree of Republican resistance has little to do with character of the appointees themselves, just that they are Democrats and Obama appointed them. There is no principle here except “NO!”
I was thinking more along the lines of quantum tunneling to get in.
Good for you!
What a crappy way to decide.
“Oh, the poor kidz won’t amount to much anyway…”
I kinda hope you made a more general stink over this brand of socio-economic profiling. Idiot doesn’t begin to describe it. Your Aunt Betsy’s school is lucky to have her.
And your school is lucky to have you.
FWDiva
I’ll trade ya…..one bubble headed blond without the ability to speak in full sentences …….. at least we would get Jake the dog
I am wide awake and have my clothes picked out for tomorrow. But I am not going to fall asleep. It’s too early.
News Flash: Tomorrow is the 1,930th anniversary of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. To mark the occasion, Katharine Weymouth of the Washington Post has announced a series of Pompeii to Play Dinner Salons…
I hope they cut some other kid out who really does not want to be there. You should get in!
Thank you. I have a job interview at 8 am. Must go do hair and nails. That, or climb in bed with my current book and set the alarm for 5:30.
Massive amounts of progessive love to all.
I agree, Hugh, with all the sadness that implies. But the media reporting that 2+2=5, or that partisan differ on the matter, doesn’t make it so, and we can post our own pix on the www.
A lot of my time these days goes into organizing work for the anemic San Francisco taxi drivers union. Local drivers are very much in the same situation as the migrant workers that Chavez organized. If these drivers, many foreign and vulnerable, understood their how vital they were economically to this city, rebelled like the French would, they would not be faced with a subsistence existence, reduced year by year, while the taxi companies and their City Hall payoff-contributions grow fatter.
I can’t at the moment think of a better ally to the bad guys, than the belief that resistance is futile. And that is not an accusation that others here do. That’s my rant, and I’m sticking with it.
If liberal, certainly inadvertent.
Montanamaven had a great post up on the Seminal earlier about the fact that 18 county Democratic committees here in Montana issued a manifesto declaring that any acceptable healthcare bill must contain a robust public option.
Thanks but if you have a job interview in the morning better save the tantric sex for after…
Sleep well and good luck with the interview.
That was my second thought.
Teddy !
One of the most pervasive problems in our society. If we really cared about building “human capital” we would invest more in schools than bombs and every student who passed the admissions exams would get a full ride scholarship.
Arkinsaw did a Seminal diary on Mad As Hell Doctors.
Best best luck to you Demi!
Petrocelli!
We have 60 Senators.
Honoring GOP holds is Harry Reid’s fault.
Blaming the party of NO for any Senate problems is absurd. It’s Harry Reid’s fault, and he’s the leader chosen by Senate Democrats, so it’s Senate Democrats’ fault. As is everything else.
We must stop blaming the GOP for problems created by our own party’s Senators.
No thanks. Those AZ whackjobs are almost as crazy as ours.
Now now, having a larger military than every other country combined is simply being prudent.
Night, demi.
Pet!
Thanks for the handy list Teddy. Here’s another sinker: Address the revolving door.
Harry Reid lagging behind Repug contenders – from rawstory
Harry Reid follows Tom Daschle, down in flames …
Since the BlueDogs make a 60 seat majority insignificant, how many Dems will join and campaign against Reid, to send a message to the BlueDogs ?
That is great! I wish I could go.
fingers and toes crossed (that hurts) ……go get ‘em demi
Ike was right.
B-bu-but HoJo is Harry Reid’s BFFAE (best friend forever and ever)
Thanks, Rat. I currently have a part time job that’s 25 miles from my house. The interview is at the gym I work out at and is 2 miles from my house. And, a wee bit more money. Guess who got two new pairs of tennis shoes today?
True. Harry really needs to spend more time with his grandchildren.
But nobody was listening.
Thanks again, demi. I’ve been a regular reader from the very beginning, back when we used to ask, “Where are the women bloggers?”
I’m familiar with the writers, and appreciate their work immensely. It’s the comments I don’t follow often, other than tonight, and I bristle at being called a fire-pup, because it’s demeaning.
This is one of the sites that helped me get through the dark ages last administration, and I’ll never forget that.
Harry needs to spend more time alone.
Snarky !
Well as I have said many times, the Democratic Establishment is not that different from the Republican Establishment. Bush was a little outside that mainstream but not sufficiently for Obama and the Democrats to really repudiate much of what he did. You look at Jim Baker corporate type Republicans and they would fit right in with the Democrats, much more so than progressives. With Obama we are seeing the continuation of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the same financial approach begun by Paulson, the same attempts to establish a habeas-less blackhole for detainees (Bagram), a similar policy on indefinite detention and military tribunals, continuation of the Bush era legal cases using the same arguments Bush DOJ used, the refusal to investigate and prosecute Bush era offenses, and the continuation of domestic spying.
The important thing here to realize, I think, is that both Obama and the Democratic Congress are in fact pursuing the agenda they want. It just isn’t much like the one they promised.
Make them sit at separate lunch tables for a week.
((Katy!!!))
Cool, hopefully the job would include a discount on gym use.
I sort of agree about the fire-pup thing. Firebrand would be better.
Petro!!!!!
{{{{{ NDFG }}}}}
Thank you! I practically adore Reich, and will check those out. There’s no reason we can’t do the same here in San Francisco.
He’s at 35, catching up fast.
Hey, Petro!
You might get a kick out of this story from the local paper.
Best, best, best wishes and best of luck, Demi!
Fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes crossed for ya!
FWDiva
Good luck Demi!
Oooh! Firebrand! I like that!
{{{ katymine }}}
I’ve a funny story to tell you on LLN … do come back and read it, if you’re not up that late tonight.
Are you in San Francisco?
((( mary )))
*snerk* on the “clowning around” comment above …
I think it is the economy and the fact that the Las Vegas mortgage market is one that is crashing and burning big time. It’s a pity because it is a situation where a progressive might have a better chance against Republican whackos than the tried and failed Harry Reid.
Goodnight and Good Luck !
Ha! I just couldn’t help myself.
Yes, twenty-two years now. Only place I’ve ever loved, or felt at home. You?
Um … your interviewer ? *g*
Yeah, that fits. Fits you to a T, and I’m not clowning around.
Tanks, dat sped reedin coarse rally pad auf …
Sac but I lived in SF for eight years-Inner Richmond. I loved it but it was a long time ago. 1974-1982
Have quite a week planned….. Monday at 8:30 a plumber is coming to reseat the toilet wax seal ….. then radiation to hips at noon….. and Lifeline rep will be over at 2pm…… Elmore is going back to Portland to move his oldest son to college on Wednesday.
You won’t be taking me for a ride would you?
Excellent ! I hope it’s better than the dish water that Starbucks serves as Chai.
Time for me to toddle off. Going to try to climb a mountain tomorrow. Well, not exactly. Going to try hiking a trail that goes over the ridge separating two of the trails I normally hike. 7.5 miles round trip, with a 1300 foot vertical gain in the first half. I’ll let you know how I did, if I can still walk, tomorrow night.
I thought you’d probably catch that one, Petro.
Not bad, but not nearly as good as the stuff my friends in college used to make.
I took a course in speed forgetting but I can’t remember when.
Heading out, pleasant evening to all.
Nice hikin, Dr (pause) Dick
**waves goodnight to all the leaving sleepy pups**
I really hope that Chuck Schumer replaces Harry as Senate Majority leader in the fall.
Which other blog do you post on, Hugh ? Would love to read your fine work more often.
This is the headline at Huffpo:
Insurers Set To Reap Financial Windfall From Health Care Reform
Clear and present fuckery.
good night firepups. i’ll be a HS senior next time you see me.
Hurray! and good night.
right, im on joes side now. congratgulations, president incredibly fucked up beyond belief
Hope everything works smoothly. Had Lifeline for my mom. Even though as her caregiver I was around most of the time it added a little peace of mind when I needed to go out.

LOL, thanks to Mary, I laugh every time I see a “Clown” reference anywhere …
Yeah, that homemade brew is always the best … it is one of few things that I make very well.
Congrats Cassie. Great to see ‘ya.
Not posting but I comment fairly often at Naked Capitalism. Schumer would be different from Reid, but I don’t see much in the way of leadership or responsiveness to progressives or the Democratic base. I see a lot of our problems in the next few years as economic and Schumer was captured by Wall Street long ago.
Just getting what they’ve paid good money for, ma’m.
LOL … say the whole thing out loud (paid off)
Congrats, only 31 years since I started my senior year. First days were always tough, I probably only skipped 3-4 classes.
I think we’re getting to a point where those in power will have no choice but heed the advice from Krugman & Roubini.
Yeah, I’m a hopeless optimist …
It was a pun based on your semi-phonetic spelling. IOW, that’s a joke, son!
FWDiva
lol oh you know I’d never do that.
Drat, beaten at my own game … *g*
Riding in my [clown] carrrr…..
Hugh, have you written anything about the Cash for Clunkers program ? More specifically, how effective it has been, compared to the other bailout programs ?
Night Cassie, it’s really good to hear from you again.
Same as Margot — wish you well and can’t wait to hear about college choices. This is your best year, Cassie. Go for it!
Margot !
How is being pissed off and scared when you find a knife hanging out of your back trolling? Obviously the guy is just learning whats going on. millions still dont and never will.not everyone is as hip as the folks who know each other on a first in here
Margot, Petro, hello!
Christine !
Hiya! Good heavens, what a night.
Surf and tides in NB at Campobello at a high! Wish I was still there.
What happened ?
LOL Actually both Krugman and Roubini are in my black books because they both endorse another term for Helicopter Ben. Krugman has personal and professional ties to Bernanke since Bernanke was responsible for his hiring at Princeton. Roubini’s endorsement was more surprising. He brushed off all of Bernanke’s major mistakes and said that Bernanke had saved the financial system from collapse. I think such a call is premature, and it should in no way absolve him of responsibility for his role in creating both the housing bubble (through support of Greenspan’s easy credit policies) and the financial meltdown (the disgraceful failure to check out who Lehman’s bondholders were).
20 people got swept out to Sea … all rescued.
The things I learn from you … thanks so much for your input !
Reports from Campobello Island were stormy, and so wild that furniture was re-arranged.
f*ck Joe and the gurney he rode in on.
TeddyP, just read post, not comments.
This country’s so effed up, so deep, and so corrupted and bought up and owned and controlled.
We delay anymore, we won’t be here no more, to complain.
Take change now, or we’ll just die, sooner than later.
It’s come down to that, simple and neat.
Fight for change now, or expect to die much sooner than ANY of us planned on.
I’ll take Door #2 For Change Now, Thanks.
No More Delay’s. No More Joe’s.
Best to ya hoss, and thanks for fighting for change as ya do.
I was wonderin’ when you’d show up …
I had no problems with Cash for Clunkers. It was a short term shot in the arm for the auto industry. But it could have been more effectively structured to target the most fuel efficient cars for sales. On the one hand we need more programs like this to help out different segments of the economy but at the same time make them part of a larger strategy, not just to increase economic activity transiently but to move us somewhere we want or need to go as a country.
riding in you car with all your peeps. every last one of ‘em.
Cash for Clown Cars!
ROFL !!!
Ich bin ein Clunker.
We’re All Clunkers!
Hoss, we’ve ALL been Jettisoned!
I’ve been askin myself the same question for a long, long time.
We had MODERATE turnouts for anti-Afghan/Iraq, but no where NEAR enuff.
We could use tens of millions with signs in the streets.
We have SO much we’ve lost, and stand to lose if we don’t stand up and out.
Course, that’s bound to trigger GREAT repression, but hey, that’s our job and the price we are supposed to be willing to pay for a democracy we thought we had.
Another thing about the Cash for Clunkers is that it was about buy forward. That is that those sales represent sales that would have been made in the future as people replaced their old cars but those future sales were taken and concentrated into sales now.
Demi, coupling requires micro management at times, and loose rein at other times.
After DECADES, couples usually figger it out . . . *G*
Those who refuse to bend and lead, both, usually ain’t couple material at that time in their lives.
I used to think I had it all under control.
Then time, and life, inturrepted.
Now, I have the BEST team we can have, thanks to HER patience and training . . . (lol).
But seriously, it’s true. Coupling takes work on both parts, and willingness (on topic) to CHANGE and adapt.
We’re humans, it’s what we’re ’sposed to do, change and adapt.
The alternative is self eradicating, methinks . . *G*
Here’s to honey’s all over the world who get it. *G*
After all, he’s just a shill for AIPAC.
Universal healthcare, however you achieve it, will actually be a great job generator at a time when there are few of those.
And Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare in Hartford.
