Any MSNBC vets out there???

Man, I’ve never watched it in the morning before.

Is that guy Joe a wingnut??? Goddammed, I had it on less than 10 minutes this morning and thought I was watching Fox News the way he was talking about Obama.

Gotta be wingnut. What’s up with MSNBC??? Wingnuts in the morning, reality at night??? Some kind of new age TV paradigm??

I turned it back on SportsCenter. Can’t stand that shit anymore.

Joe Scarborough wing nut, douchebag.

Yes, the show has always had a wingnutty slant, but it has become exponentially worse in the last few months IMO.

They have been fawning over reagan and bush since i turned it on about 20 minutes ago.

Tom Ridge, the first secretary of homeland security, asserts in a new book that he was pressured by top advisers to President George W. Bush to raise the national threat level just before the 2004 election in what he suspected was an effort to influence the vote.

Hey, those tricks worked for them in ‘68, ‘72 (Nixon) and ‘80 (Raygun). So why not?

Rachel Maddow’s appearance on MTP has the largest ratings since April. Think the honchos will get the clue and dump Karl Rove’s dancing partner and put a real journalist with an agile mind in place of the slow thinking but ever loyal to the status quo, Gregory?

Joe Scarborough will be a guest on MtP this Sunday. So I guess we have the answer to your question.

That’s what they’ll say, Armey along with the always effervescent Daschle was a ratings boost but deep down in their black souls they will know it was Maddow. What whould happen if Maddow and Hamsher were to appear on MTP simultaneously? Gregory’s head would explode.

How can someone whose title is director of homeland security not resign if he believes the security of the homeland is being compromised in some way by the White House? How do you wait all these years before saying something?

Won’t distract from the nightmare August Dems and the administration are having.

Watching Imus on MSNBC blowing off Tom Ridge’s revelation book to Jeffrey Toobin.

Oh, those wacky Republican governors, past and present. Ridge, Sanford.

In ND, we’ve got the Republican governor whose main claim to fame was that he had done absolutely nothing publicly controversial, gotten himself re-elected twice, and now is muttering about possibly challenging Dorgan. Although I think he’s going to hold out for a run against Conrad.

The same governor who just nominated that totally awesome Scandinavian-American Karl Rove to the faked-up Hostfest Hall of Fame. Why hasn’t Rove been indicted, anyway?

Guess we know who’ll be running Who????ven’s campaign…

Ah, the intrigues of North Dakota politics….it’ll be interesting. Yet another Republican governor who some say has Appalachian Trail issues….

In the Bloomberg piece you link to there was a quote from Senator Enzi.
“For millions of Americans, the government-run plan would turn into a bureaucratic nightmare,” Enzi wrote in a USA Today opinion piece yesterday.

That I suppose would be those 47 million folks presently uninsured. That should get him a ‘Wanker of the Day’ honorable mention, at least.

For them, everything is about winning elections. They pull stunts even if they have direct impact on national security.

- ‘68. Before the election, a negotiated peace with North Vietnam was on the table. Henry Kissinger secretly collaborated with the leaders in the South not to accept, promising Nixon would arrange a better deal.

- ‘72. Again North Vietnam and the U.S. Both agreed to a settlement. Nixon reneged to keep the war going through the election.

- ‘80. James Baker negotiated with the Iranians not to release the hostages, promising a better deal under Reagan.

- ‘04. A bogus Bin Laden video before the election. Ridge and his “terror alert.”

Nice report, Jim. As I just stated, it’s all about winning elections. Spilt blood resulting from it was no concern whatsoever.

Very likely there was extortion to prevent Ridge, Powell, and Ashcroft from resigning prior to the election.

Could be wrong, it’s a habit of mine, but I’m thinking you’re missing his point.

I’m pretty sure he’s laying out the right wing talking points on this issue. I’ve seen him spew them before.

In other words, Ridge is lying. How could not resign as DHS Secretary if what he is saying were true??? Ergo, he must be lying.

Look for it.

Guaranteed right wing talking points as the rebuttal to his book is he must be lying.

Obama is losing his credibility on both the left and right and with independents as well.

The right does not believe him when he says not to worry. That Obama’s proposed team of technocrats operating outside normal political controls — the so-called Independent Medicare Advisory Council — will resort to rationing when costs continue to spiral upward. They also do not believe him when he claims taxpayer dollars will not got to fund abortions and health insurance for illegal aliens.

The left is upset over backroom deals with lobbyists and Obama’s apparent walk back from the ‘public option.’

Independents, moderates don’t believe Obama when he says that a new $1 trillion health-care entitlement is just the thing to restore our economy. They know that almost every entitlement known to man has cost more than originally estimated and will lead to higher taxes on all Americans, and that raising taxes during a deep recession is NOT the way to restore the country to fiscal health.

Independents cannot see how Obama can be believed when he says, ‘if you like your plan you can keep it’ when the left has admitted repeatedly that the ‘public option’ is a ‘compromise’ that will eventually lead us to a single payer system.

This effort has been a failure because the President has not been honest or transparent when communicating with the American people.

Return? We have yet to wake up from the so-called ‘Bush’ nightmare. Our federal government is losing the confidence of the American people at a staggering rate. Obama continues Bush war policies and his out of control spending leads us further down a path fiscal irresponsibility and a consolidation of government/corporate power & control. To me, there is no difference between our two political parties, except on the most polarizing social issues.

I disagree with Indie that O is deliberately being deceitful with the country. For that to work, he has to be a practiced liar which he is not, so I’m of the opinion that lying is a strategy he’s not trying to use.

With regard to foreign policy it’s a different story. He is stating lies about Afghanistan, but he may not be cognizant of the lies because he’s simply regurgitating the CIA policy briefs. That is even more troubling than deliberate lies, because it means that the CIA is in control of foreign policy.

Dear Mr. President; We no longer give a damn about “health care insurance”. You continue to talk about insurance. We don’t give a damn if you reform insurance. People with insurance appear happy to be fleeced. Please, allow them to be fleeced all they want.
We, the people, want a public health care law. Perhaps a constitutional amendment that is every American’s right to have complete health care? One that allows every one of us free health care that is paid for by taxes. Please stop confusing the issue with insurance. These are two separate issues and they do not mix because they are mutually exclusive. Health care is supposed to be for the person. It involves them and their care providers only. You continue to talk insurance as though there is care involved. That is the closest thing to nonsense you have ever said and it reminds us all of your predecessor.
Please, public mandated government sponsored health care for every damn one of us. There is no compromise. We have seen enough death and foreclosure, bankruptcy and organ shopping. If there is anything you don’t understand about this matter, there are literally millions of us that can explain it in gory detail. Perhaps your sheltered existence is what keeps you and those around you from this basic understanding of what is happening to the people of our country. It is a crime. End it, Please.

Look at Medicaid. Thanks to its woeful reimbursement rates and administrative hassles, 40% of all physicians refuse to see Medicaid patients. If you can’t see a doctor, you don’t have health care.
