Torture protest yesterday at Berkeley.
John Yoo’s presence at UC Berkeley is a spit in the face of every Californian.
It would be helpful if someone at the Lake set up a bail fund to support such valiant acts of civil disobedience.
Jane is always a voice of reason and insight.
March on Washington September 13 for meaningful healthcare reform. Pass it on.
good morning.
Mad As Hell Doctors scheduled to arrive in dc on the 30th. local actions along their trip route:

Wish I could be in Washington. I’m sure the march will be thoroughly covered by the media. /snark
Bravo Jane!
Ms. Hamscher:
Wow! I saw your interview with Ms. Maddow on her show last night and all I can say is: wow! You were brilliant. So’s Rachel, of course, but at the end of your discussion yesterday evening I was impressed with how substantive, concise, and articulate you were. Great work. Thank you.
Demonstrations should occur around the offices of all the major networks in D.C. Surround the offices and don’t let them out. Signs exposing the rich celebrity news readers as nothing more than corporate shills. Let’s see if they ignore that.
Is there a bail fund being started at the local level in Berkeley?
How true.
I’m sure Foxsnooze will have its reporters there — just to make sure its audience gets the “real” story . . . after it’s been filtered thru the Joseph Goebbels’ Memorial Propaganda Machine.
Glenn Beck is scheduled to be interviewed on WMNF Tampa this afternoon between 1-2 ET. I don’t know if it’s for the whole hour or if it’s recorded or live. Interviewer is Rob Lorei, News Director and co-founder of the station.
As long as I’m talkin’ radio, here’s a nice tune to start the day before all the fuckin’ trolls get here and start stinkin’ up the place.
Barney Frank is a God
Maybe he will announce that he will be leaving faux since he lost most of his advertisers. Nice to be able to dream in the mornings.
thanks for the tune! i’m listening to democracy now! at the moment, but have it bookmarked for after.
Jane, you’re getting “progressively” better and better on the tee vee. Just awesome!
Problem is that all of Beck’s former advertisers still are running ads on Fox. Can’t miss out on all of the wingnut eyeballs, don’tcha know.
Which means that Fox can ignore the loss of advertisers on Beck’s show, because the bottom line isn’t affected.
Great job Jane, more please!!!
Ms. H. –
Thank you for being the voice of reason. Everytime I see you on tv (and why is it that you only seem to appear on MSNBC?), you have such rational responses to all the fanatical nonsense generated by the reichwingers that the MSM keeps recycling — do they EVER have an original thought of their own????
It seems our vaunted fourth estate is too lazy to actually investigate the undue influence of the radical right on the political process . . . or are they too scared? — are they afraid of the bullying repercussions from Rash Limpballz and/or Sean Insannity?
We are moving toward a fascist-style government when the free press can be cowed into submission as easily as ours’ seems to be . . . reminds me of how the Nazis came to power in Germany — in fact, the weepublicans are using the exact same tactics — Storm Troopers and all — and accusing Democrats/Progressives/liberals of the crime they’re committing.
Goebbels and Hitler would be so proud!
The corporate media suffers from Stockholm syndrome. That and the fact that the on air celebrities are all wealthy far beyond their intellect and they and their corporate bosses will do all they can to protect their positions of power and priviledge.
They’re not getting off so easy — I’m sending letters/emails etc. to alllll of them, telling them I’m boycotting their businesses as long as they continue to advertise on Foxsnooze — and I’m telling everybody I know not to buy their products, too.
They’ll start to feel the hurt eventually.
Leave it to an openly gay Congressman to show the rest of the Dems what having a pair looks like.
the problem, it seems his classes are still among the most popular, therefore the protests against him mean nothing afaiac
Hey selise!
Good morning.
I’ve been meaning to just write a hello when I have seen your name pop up in the past week. Glad you are here.
Because they can’t fit enough reichwingnuts on the sets of the major networks to refute her nor would they like their wealthy newsreaders to go home crying.
Link please.
Liked how NBC had 2 right wingers and a thoroughly compromised Tom Daschle to counter Rachel Maddow. Nothing like stacking the deck.
believe I read it on raw story, am going to work and can’t track the link right now, will try to give it to you later in the day
America is finally realizing that the GOP stands for
Greed
Over
Patriotisim
Awsome job on The Rachel Maddow Show last night !
bits from pnhp: Bullying, hate-mongering have no place in health debate
It was a thing of beauty.
Thank you ! Thank you! What a great moment in history.
Our family just sang out to Barney for that moment.
Absolutely SPOT ON!
Greed Over Patriotism. Nice!
got it
good morning klynn!
The corporate media treats these crazies as “legitimate” voices while Frank exposed their insanity and infantilism.
fast work perris!
Thanks for the nice music!
Hmmm, thanks. I guess the reichwingnut students would like his classes. Forty years ago he’d have been run off campus.
Always liked that song.
y0
tw3k !!!!!!
been a v long time. dooode!
some happy news – SD has a couple of new tigers.
nice :)
how u?
Barney just gave the proper model for a response to this insanity. Then the 75% can return to reasonable dialogue and create a synergy for solutions to the serious issue of health care.
My teenager said, “Thank you Barney Frank for being able to keep the Town Hall on track and confronting the madness. The name calling and lacking in facts of concern regarding the health care debate by uninformed individuals and groups, and watching people simply standing up and spewing trash, gets our country only in one direction — down. The First Amendment does have it’s important place. Manners, maturity, responsibility and respectful dialogue bring solutions.”
My soon-to-be kindergartner said, “Gee some people at these meetings are so rude and mean. They do not understand how to talk with others. Maybe they need to go back to kindergarten and learn some manners. And, their Mommies should give them a time out for being so rude.”
i gotta run :S
RRRRAAAAAWWWW!!!111 fire-in-the-belly-dogs!!!!111
Kids, on a slightly different topic, sorry. But I’m getting a little nervous. It appears that Faux and others are really working up this race war thing. I heard three callers bringing it up on C-SPAN this morning. One person called and mentioned the posibility of violence and eventually a race war because of all the vitriol at the turf hall meetings, especially with people roaming around with guns. Then one of the “automatic rifle at presidential events” supporters called in response and said regarding a race war: “Bring it on”. Then someone named Andrew Napolitano from faucks news came on to discuss his new book “Dred Scott’s Revenge: A Legal History of Race and Freedom in America” endorsed by Juan Williams, Michael Steele, Glen Beck, Nat Hentof. He was a co-founder of CAP at Princeton (remember this from Alito’s SCOTUS hearing). Book sounds like a huge race bait. This is getting way too scary. WTF?
still breathing and all pieces parts still attached. so good.
hope you are well. damn it’s good to see your handle here.
peace out.
Jane, you and Christy are treasures.
You are doing an absolutely superb job on this issue and when this happens you will be one of the responsible parties. America owes a debt of gratitude to you.
You need to get booked on more shows – your presentation is flawless.
Here is the math on the public option-
There are exactly 17-19 people, in the whole country, who are holding up heathcare reform. The house of representatives wants it, and has ample numbers to pass it. The presidents says he prefers a public option. Finally, in the senate, by even Kent Conrad’s whip count, 41-43 senators of 60 democrats (over two-thirds) will vote for a public option. By my count, that leaves 17-19 senators standing in the way of passing this thing!
It’s not 100 house members holding up what the majority of democrats want. It’s 17-19 senators. 4 out of 5 bills under consideration contain the public option. The republicans don’t count here, and refuse to participate.
Why not put the whole weight of the arm twisting on the 17-19 senators? We have the majority of democrats in all 3 branches of government in favor of a public option. The progressives, labor unions, the AARP, and 71 percent of democrats in general favor it. Yet, 17-19 people can hold up reform ?
Time to explain it to them in terms they can understand. Fall in line,or lose party financial support, labor will sit on their hands in your next election, and you will face primary opponents.
Give them a bone if they play along. This is politics, as practiced for long as history remembers.
The 17-19 would only need to be exhorted to vote for cloture to stop a Republican filibuster. Only 8-11 would then have to be persuaded to vote for the bill in the Senate, in order to pass it. Barring that, it looks like the 8-11 will be required to pass the measure through the reconcilliation process.
Bravo Jane simply marvelous as always.
Jane and Rachel discussing health policy: priceless. Jane needs to get on TV more often.
Maybe if they are all carrying “ar15’s” and placards with swastikas on them?
Don’t forget pictures of Obama with a Hitler ’stache!
Jane, I saw you on Rachel Maddow last night and you were terrific. I’ve been a reader for quite a while but signed up today. Keep up the great work.
Conservatives SUCK! If you don’t like the U.S. Government…don’t let the door hit you in the azz on your way out to another country!
