My original comments concerned statements made by Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, a health policy advisor to President Obama and the brother of the President’s chief of staff. Dr. Emanuel has written that some medical services should not be guaranteed to those “who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens….An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia.
Wait. Crazy people won’t get medical care? No wonder she’s upset.
"President Obama can try to gloss over the effects of government authorized end-of-life consultations, but the views of one of his top health care advisors are clear enough," Palin wrote.
Apparently not.

About Firedoglake
Sarah Palin has always been undaunted by facts.
Remember, to a Republican, liberals and Democrats are always guilty until proven innocent — in one of those trials where they tie a bunch of rocks to you and then see if you float.
Blue Texan, I consider that a bit offensive. People suffering from dementia are not “crazy.” In any event, people suffering any type of mental impairment should be entitled to health care.
There is always room for irreversibly prevented citizens in the GOP. Or in Palins case irreversibly demented.
Lordy. Now we’re going to have to boycott Whole Foods.
When she came out with the original facebook post on the “death panel” last Friday, I put up a post labeling her “crazy woman.” Since then, I’ve decided to only call her the “crazy woman.” It seems to be catching.
She probably wrote last Friday’s fb post, but she didn’t write the subsequent ones. A commenter at the Mudflats wrote a list of ways you can tell:
People unable to function due to mental illness are, imo, the most unfortunate of souls. If anybody is entitled, repeat entitled, to health care they’re it. Medication is only a solution for some. Others are untouched by any type of med and need to be provided for.
Doesn’t bother me. I’m way below their demo target anyhow.
How is this for killer right wing health care logic?
Proof that abortions are in the health care bill, is that abortions are not in the health care bill.
Here is the clip:

Dementia is a serious medical condition that gradually destroys brain functions. Nothing to do with “crazy.”
Assssssssssssss—-hooooooooooooooooooole.
Sarah Palin is attacking Ezekiel Emanuel because she’s an anti-Semite. She is now forced to prove she isn’t an anti-Semite, and until she proves that conclusively, she is one, because I just decided she is. (That’s using my Sarah Palin Powers of Psychically Knowing Other People’s Motivations.)
In GOPerland all mental illness is considered as being lazy or a case for exorsizing the demons. Treatment for the mental is just spoiling or a sign of weakness.
“Stay on target…Stay on target…”

I read the link. I support the boycott Whole Foods has lots of Lefty customers just what is the CEO thinking this is the kind of negative press that shareholders should use to sack a CEO.
undaunted by criticism, ‘progressive’ blogs continue to pretend that Obamacare will be a good bill, worth supporting.
after all, if it is the opposite of something in one of Sarah Palin’s word salads, it must be true!
Outstanding.
The drama queen strikes again
She must be feeling forgotten so soon after, er, being forgotten
I wonder if Trig would survive Sarah’s death panel?
http://progressivealaska.blogs…..death.html
I’m impressed with the tenor, tone, and content of the discussion.
Back to the cesspool.
Namaste
I’ve known a number of seniors including my beloved grandmother who developed dementia. I’ve known younger people who suffered from schizophrenia. I wouldn’t wish either condition on my worst enemy.
Regarding Palin, she is self-centered, ignorant, and mean but I doubt if she is mentally ill.
Lietalker’s battle against Darth Obamaul won’t be over with the Death Panel’s destruction, I fear.
;>)
Some right wing talking head said the three Repub presidential prospects for 2012 are Mitt Romney, Neut Gingrich and Sarah Palin. Considering that Obama’s stimulating the wrong end of the horse, the economy may turn so bad by 2012 (claims the recession’s over notwithstanding) a Repub victory becomes possible in which case we can laugh at them all the way to the concentration camp.
That was my first thought when I read today’s post, ET. She didn’t write it…footnotes and all. Apparently whoever did doesn’t know how to use hyperlinks, though!
Yep we are such high minded Elites aren’t we?
Perfect!
I know. Really dumb.
There has to be some pay off for her to keep up this rhetoric. After all, Rush is raking it in saying just this type of stuff.
So. Who’s paying her? Perhaps unmarked health insurance PR folks get paid more than state governors?
That reminds me. We insured people get to pay even more because of this high priced lobbying against lowering our costs. Nice.
When we talk smart we are Elites when we act common we are mocked as low bred by the Elites? When we use their words against them pointing out logical inconsistencies we are taking their words out of context.
We are ranked on for swearing as they issue Death threats. When we boycott industry and advertisers we are over reacting when they stalk people personally its journalism.
We get things wrong and say sorry granted after a fight but they never admit that they are wrong or say sorry (the Lou Dobbs Hispanics Spread Leprosy lie comes to mind).
ClearChannel is losing money and laying people off Rush is eating them out of house and home.
Yet another reason to support the local merchants and farmer’s markets.
I never liked the way WF would come barrelling into city markets as if no one there had ever heard of fresh produce or quality markets, as I tend to mistrust someone trying to pretend to monopolize a niche that’s already occupied; always seems more a political (WF is out of TX) than a marketing ploy somehow.
Wonder if WF tends to create food deserts the way WM tends to create retail deserts?
I am Victim, hear me whine.

Shame on you for bringing Patsy Cline into this in such an inappropriate way. The song “Crazy” is about GOOD crazy, about what makes us fall in love in spite of ourselves or our better judgement. Wholly the wrong thing to use to point out how whacked Palin in.
Try again. I know you can do it.
That probably doesn’t matter much to Limbaugh – after all, he’s the savior of capitalism. ClearChannel will just have to suck it up, put on their Big Corporation panties and pull themselves up by their bootstraps. Darwin, baby!
Palin’s remains the willing captive of the make-believe Empire aficionados – Why, if they could just have their big tall wish come true, they could rule the Universe.
;>)
when am I ever going to learn not to click on your links ;)
Are we supposed to care?
Yes you are in Seattle your side is fighting to keep the names of people against gay marriage hidden because your afraid of boycotts.
Your side is so weak you have to lie about healthcare because you don’t have ideas of your own.
Your side talks constantly about guns and shooting people then when a nut screaming about liberals with Glen Beck and Rush books at home does shoot someone suddenly they are nolonger a follower. Way to stick up for your peeps coward!
GOPers are bullies who constantly feel victimized.
-Rush Limbaugh
Is that from A Fish Called Wanda?
Hi Things!
You might enjoy this video, since we’re the “victims”.
I send this to you with loads of irony.
I don’t even believe that Palin herself is writing this crap. Complete sentences, grammatically correct…we’ve seen both spoken and written samples of Palin’s communication skills, and these are not them. Either her publicist or another ghost-writer is putting words in Palin’s mouth…not that she minds as long as she can bask in media attention.
Thanks for the factoid. I wasn’t aware of that. Is there somewhere I can read more about how he’s costing them money?
Hey, I’m not the one who’s making fun of people with mental handicaps. I think that’s appalling.
Good point its all the Liberal African American, Hispanics fault the banks went under not $36 to every $1 of collateral leverage.
The housing bubble is Acorn’s fault not Bush and Greenspan’s for lowering interest rates. Its not Bush’s fault the government never regulated Bank’s Ninja loans.
Nope its all the people with no money’s fault.
Taking responsibility is something no true GOPer does.
I thought it an odd choice here, as well. But why should anyone care what Palin thinks. She ain’t the preznit — yet.
EDP, you can’t be insinuat—wait, are you implying, no, is someone making stuff up??? that Sarah Palin cannot make up her own stuff? Oh…my…head…hurts…from the mobius loop of logic that is Sarah Palin.
I think people who want to deny other people access to health care by stalling is more appalling and galling.
I’m not insinuating anything–I’m saying, up front, this is not Sarah Palin’s writing “style.” The author is not only making shit up, he/she is putting the words in Palin’s mouth. I presume a nice cash reward results.
No more radio talking heads on CNN!
Humor is being used to illustrate a point not to put people down.
Thanks I wish every troll would watch:)
It’s all part of her fiendishly clever world plan, which we’re all just living in.
;>)
I completely agree.
I’m afraid to click the link before Beer Thirty …
Of course, what’s “fiendishly clever” to Palin is probably just garden-variety inflammatory bullshit to the rest of us.
Sarah Palin has my vote for Czar of Ignorance Panels.
-G
You have no idea how many people in my field think they have all the answers for problems great and small …
Well you live with someone who’s mentally handicapped for a while and then tell us all how humorous it is.
Google Bain Capital they own Clearchannel Rush’s employer now Mitt Romney the founder of clear channel has sold 2 of his 4 mansions which given the sad real estate market suggests that he was forced to sell.

What about GOP Kingpin Rush Limbaugh making a mockery of Michael J. Fox’s disease?
Or that GOP/teabagging clown in CT advising Sen. Dodd to comit suicide with pills due to his cancer?
-G
P.S. There is some sort of stand off in California with someone who threatened the president.
Or the dreaded condition of the depth challenged, rectal soliloquizing.
;>)
I think what we have here is a failure to communicate.
One commenter has already plainly stated that mental illness is not the same as being crazy. I agree. It’s a bad joke.
Another commenter fired off a nasty name directed at Sarah Palin. IMHO, she deserves no respect whatsoever.
So, if your beef is about the first, then point taken. However, you replied to the second point. And people here will defend their right to diss Sarah Palin.
She’s a-ppalin’
OK. Are we on the same page?
To them that is free speech …
Petro! DB! Dosido!
-G
Sarah is against healthcare we of course are for it and think crazy people should get care. The humor comes from the contrasting ideas of a crazy person like Sarah being against Healthcare for a reason we could support, that being crazy people not getting healthcare.
If you doubt Sarah is crazy check out her resignation speech. Captain Kirk did turn it into fine beat poetry though.
ROFL … dosido !
GregB !
How’s it goin’, eh ?
Death panels are just another example of throwing shit at a wall and seeing if any sticks. They are meant to evoke an emotional reaction and distract from any real discussion of the issues. It isn’t even terribly original. Remember how the estate tax got reframed as the death tax? This is more of the same. It doesn’t matter how absurd and outrageous it is. In fact, that it is so loony means that the media will cover it, and that was really the object of the whole exercise anyway.
Thanks for the link. There could be lots of reasons Mitt is selling some properties. Could be PR. Remember the heat McCain took for all his houses? But I’ll keep an eye on ClearChannel etc…
GregB!
Bizarre that some mighty intellect can take a loaded hand cannon in plain view to a town hall meeting featuring a Head of State – something that the previous holder of the office (or more properly his handlers) would have ‘frowned upon’ with extreme prejudice in the era of ‘T-shirts found incompatible with the feel-good vibe’.
Rampant assclownery abounds when the cardboard dreamboats start taking on water.

what it B like?
Yeah, private guns near public servants, that’s just hinky.
I think a message was being sent, but the inference was studiously ignored by those who should know better.
‘Don’t ever tell them they’re not free…Or they’ll have to prove it to you.’

I propose balancing the budget with an ignorance tax.
We’ll be rolling in dough.

what bugs me about this crap is that I want to shout at these misinformed, misdirected people “what? NOW you want to take your country “back”? Where were you the last eight years when bush and cheney were trampling the constitution, spying on you and sending you and your kids to steal oil for them?”
LOL !!!
Dr. Dean throwing it down … “There Will Be Primaries” For Dems Who Vote Against Public Option” – via HuffPo
The right-wing Christians, and the right-wing militia folk are really stirred up and frankly I am worried. Most of us know that the right (white)wing militia types have simply been allowed to grow pretty much unhindered and now they are getting all the help they need to go bat shit crazy. This is not funny nor is it normal American push and pull. I never thought that I would hear the bald, naked racism talk that is allowed these days and armed crazies walking around where the President is speaking.
Oh, that was all perfectly acceptable – Such minor trifles were bringing the country in a direction that they found comforting, like an old Norman Rockwell painting.
;>)
I’m sorry, but I think Crazy is completely apropos. The song is about a destructive relationship, and the singer knows it’s a destructive relationship.
The only difference is that Caribou Barbie’s Palinistas don’t realize that the relationship is destructive.
uhm, dude, “crazy” ain’t a clinical term to begin with
an we’re all fuckin crazy, or we wouldn’t be here
(wink)
All I have to say to Mrs. Palin is this:
How can I miss you when you won’t go away?
what’s all this fuss about the youth in Asia?
princess pandora”s word salad has no opposites
it opposes itself
it is completely self contained and self negating
a complete nutball of alternate reality
So do we do chemo and operate on an 80 year old with prostate cancer in the advanced stages of dementia and then spend months on his rehab when it isn’t likely to improve the quality of his life, because of the dementia, or extend his life for more than one year or so according to the available medical data? And if we do, when will it be appropriate to say no to a senior with a mental illness, or one or more underlying physical conditions, with respect to very expensive end-of-life medical and hospital care?
There are a flood of 80 years old coming our way because through Medicare seniors have access to excellent geriatric care and medications that prolong life. Do we just pay for whatever medical procedures and medications that seniors want without question? And what does that do to the quality of life for the younger American taxpayer who has to pay the tab and maintain some decent quality of life for himself/herself and his/her family?
This is a deadly serious issue for those who have to pay the bill, and how that affects the future of our economy, as much or more as it affects seniors who enjoy a carte blanche health care system under Medicare.
LOL … I spewed when I saw that.
Thanks for reinforcing the concept of efficiency in the use of health care money like Emanuel and Czar Sunstin. They don’t exactly say Kill Grandma but do say don’t spend money on her. My Dad is 94 and had medical procedures when he was 80, but his quality of life must have been terrible since then because he won tennis medals at the Good life Games in Vero Beach at the age of 90.
I do know the category, but chronic lying is pathological.
