The Alberto Gonzales legacy:
In their testimony in June and July 2009, both Miers and Rove failed to recall key incidents, according to the transcripts. Miers said she could not recall events almost 150 times in the course of her 10-hour deposition. Rove portrayed himself as receiving hundreds of e-mails a day, so that "asking me to remember replies is like asking me to remember a raindrop in a thunderstorm."
This is how Alberto plans to recruit and mold young minds at Texas Tech? It appears to have worked already with Harriet and Karl.

I guess memory lapse must now be a key job requirement for folks at the White House.
Gonzo will be a popular Professor, because “I do not recall” will be a perfectly acceptable answer to any test question.
I looked on the Texas Tech website and there’s nothing about his appointment up at all.. I guess they’re trying to keep it quiet. I wonder who twisted whose arm to get him that job.
I also have to wonder (per Teddy’s link) how many of those in Lubbock who oppose his faculty appointment do so because he’s Latino not because he’s a war criminal.
I wonder if Gonzo ever wishes that he had not thrown his lot in with the Bush machine that just grinds people up and spits them out. I’ll bet he does. He was used and may or may not have been smart enough to realize that. He doesn’t appear to be very bright IMO.

Mr. Gonzales’ legacy is being cemented in place by the new Democratic administration . . . that’s the hope-n-change bait-n-switch that so many fell for.
CRS was an infectuous disease in the Bush WH. (CRS – Can’t Remember Shit)
Wah…Wahh.. Gonzo is whining and does not deserve his burden. What did he do that was so wrong? Besides trashing that Goddam Piece of Paper called the Constitution.
Actually, I heard somewhere that about 70 (I think that’s the number) profs at the U of T have signed a petition objecting to the possibility of awarding him faculty status at that esteemed institution.
Once Gonzo is dragged into this fully, anyone think he might be “teaching” somewhere other than TT?!
“He doesn’t appear to be very bright IMO.”
When you compare him to (say) a tree stump, for example, he appears very bright.
East Death Valley U, maybe?
Googling “site:ttu.edu Texas tech alberto gonzales” brought 115 hits of items from the Texas Tech website. There are plenty of pieces about the appointment, including coverage of the backlash and protests.
oh I don’t know. I think that there are at least four types who would serve in a rogue regime, like shrub’s. The first: good people or at least less than totally evil people who didn’t know what they were getting into and who quit when they figured out just how craven their colleagues are (O’Neill, Donaldson, Whitman, Kuo, Ashcroft, Powell). The second: the complicit – people who were happy to go along with the evil and do evil themselves in return for the chance to bask in the presence of the great (Gonzo, Libby, Condi, Meyers), third: the depraved (Rove, Chertoff, Yoo). The fourth: the fanatics and koolaid drinkers (Cheney, Goodling, Paulose, probably shrub himself).
Gonzo was the Peter Principle writ very, very large.
He had no business on the Texas Supreme Court, let alone any of his appointments in Bushworld, DC. Oh, well, it’s the scrap heap for you now, Fredo — say hi to Katharine Harris, another Bush discard.
I think he was sending/receiving all those e-mails on his lapse-top.
I used their law school’s own search engine. Nothing came up.
Ahem.
I know Peter.
Peter is a friend of mine . . .
And AGAG’s principles are about as far from mine as one can get.
I think he should teach at San Francisco State University so Teddy can audit the class and ask alot of questions.
Ah, there’s your problem.
His appointment is NOT in the law school. They apparently have the good sense not to want him anywhere near their students. He’s got a general appointment to the university, to assist in recruiting undergraduates.
From the July 7 press release announcing his appointment:
hilarious.
I like it.
That’s a very good breakdown and I’m just sorta meandering about Gonzo. He just strikes me as being someone who never expected to be anybody, who was so flattered by being in the administration that he really didn’t GET it. He appears to be really dumb – I know he was telling lies to Congress but even then, he didn’t seem to understand the magnitude of what he was doing.
The answers to which Abu will not recall!
(… and Peterr, sorry about the Principle, dude.)
What is hilarious is that “minority recruitment/retention” are exactly what the Rs have been fighting all these years. Hypocrite much?

I had something very witty and pithy to say about Alberto Gonzales but, inspired by his example, I can no longer remember what it was.
