Yeah I saw him on this tour- the “blues tour” where he didn’t really play any of his hits but hardcore stuff like Jimmy Rogers and Lowell Fulsom stuff from his album “From The Cradle”. Don’t know how the uninitiated felt about that…I loved it but I can’t do large area shows anymore. That was the last one. Clubs and small theatres only for me now.

i saw this movie repeatedly when it came out. alan freed used to put on rock and roll shows a few times a year. the shows would repeat all day alternating with the grade b/c/d movie du jour. that one time it was Lure of the Swamp. by the end of the day, my friends and i knew a good deal of the lines by heart. one that we repeated over and over through the years was “Now you really need me, Simon.”

it’d be hysterical to see that movie again.

Suz, I had all my top teeth pulled in one sitting. Wasn’t as awful as one might imagine. Guy who did it was good. Saving bottom teeth insofar as possible (for anchors) really is the priority.

(My lot was cast when I was a young teen. Had a gum infection that an incompetent dentist tried to treat with vitamin c. By the time I got to an internist and antibiotics, the inevitable outcome was clear. Extensive periodontal surgery bought me a few years, but it was hell.)

Not nearly as good as the Glenfiddich, but better than any “regular” scotch.

reminds me of a tequila bar i was at – they had hundreds of tequilas available. some of the shots were very high priced. i had some 100% blue agave that was $15/shot and well worth it. dayam that was smooth. served in a sniffer and bright blue color.

When that asked for “Stardust” I’d say, oh, sorry, I don’t know that song.

Then one time in Santa Fe at the El Dorado Hotel in 1991, the same scenario happened. Well about 15 minute later I played this.

Lady came back to me and said, “How come you didn’t play that when I asked you to?” Turns out I thought the song was called “Sometimes I wonder” cause that’s the first words of the first verse.

My whole town was music oriented. Quite a few went on to be professional musicians. A lot of friends used to play the bars and I would go up and sing Springsteen, Jackson Brown, etc. Really fun.

The Glenfiddich comes in this beautiful 3-sided bottle, so that’s how you can remember it. Either of the “glens” are great for beginner sippers, although I still drink either.

If you get a more bitter single (by comparison) you can add ice.
