The only one who interests me is Wyclef Jean on 60 minutes.
Morning all, Thanks Elliott. Good Gawd Michele Malkin replaces George Will.
Good Morning….Our World has Bill Cosby and Dr. Poussaint….but I want to know who is going to tell us about Palin. Why isn’t she on;))?
Good morning all. Yes, that was my reaction. Apparently the national barrell of conservatives is almost empty.
Matthews about health care…Fineman, Loven, Robinson, ODonnell
2nd Topic about the crazy “birthers”
I think it’s a desperate attempt to improve ratings.
At least they have Cynthia Tucker and Al Hunt to call any bullshit from her. (Al Hunt’s not my fave but he is good at calling bullshit from wingnuts. He had years of practice with Bob Novak on the Capitol Gang.)
Matthews showng tapes, Malkin, Rush, Beck, Jon Stewart, focus on the race discussion.
I am looking forward to KOs return. It will be very telling if GE reaches in and controls his program.
The first topic is Why is President Obama losing public support for health care reform? His answer will be that Obama wants to cover poor women for abortions. Gotta love that Tweety. He’s really raising the level of political discussion.
Nah, abortion did not come up, and panel thinks bill will get signed. But Ob. has not done his best selling job, needs a bumper sticker line, and opponents have made a better arguement…so you do not have to watch
Thanks, RevBev! I’m happy to be wrong about this and I thank you for watching Tweety so I don’t have to!
You’re very welcome…since I work on Sunday,it’s about all I see. Ending question says, No, Obama will not stop talking about race. Unanimous.
Good morning, folks. It’s MoDo, Friedman, Kristof and Rich today. MoDo didn’t even have to write a column this time, just come up with a list of questions. In “Can You Eat In Bed?” Nora Ephron, who screened her new film “Julie and Julia” at the White House recently, answers a crazy salad of food questions. (I’m looking forward to that movie — if it’s half as much fun as Julie’s blog was it’ll be a smash.) The Moustache of Wisdom offers “Free Marriage Counseling,” and says America and Israel need to understand each other better in order to come to an agreement for a moratorium on settlements. Mr. Kristof tells us “How to Lick a Slug,” and that getting kids awed by nature, in all its slug-infested glory, is as important as getting them reading. Mr. Rich, in “Small Beer, Big Hangover,” says whites are expected to be a minority by 2042, and beer won’t cool the fury of those Americans who can’t accept the changing racial profile.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, the cold drinks are in the fridge for later, and I picked up some chocolate croissants and fresh raspberries to have this morning. It would appear that ABC has finally sunk to the level of Faux News — whose brilliant idea was it to have Michelle Malkin elevated to the level of “not nuts?” (For those interested in etymology, Malkin.) Have a great day.
Actually, HERE they are. Need. More. Caffeine.
The leftward slide of the media continues unabated.
Yeah Michele Malkin represents a leftward slide. An alternate universe heard from.
jeebus abc — michelle malkin AND alan greenspan? i wonder if this is the beginning of greenspan’s rewritiing of history for his legacy tour.
And finally, a not good coverage/health care conversation as NPR lead story. Have a great day.
Not surprised. They’re not known as Nice Polite Republicans for nothing…
Or National Republican Radio.
Ugh. I wrote ABC/George that I would not watch because of Malkin. I said having her on legitimizes her lies and hatemongering, or de-legitimizes his show. That he could take his pick, either way he lost me as a viewer.
I wrote to MSNBC last week about Donnie Deutsch, too. He’s just smarmy, irritating and degrading to women.
Morning, still stormy here
Thanks for the Matthews’ notes, RevBev
from the plum line
agree agree
The rethug definition of bipartisanship is doing everything their way.
and it’s working
DeMint is working in every Republican buzzword, every Luntzian talking point. What a sleeze
Malkin gets a spot on the Sunday shows was David Duke busy? We win the election. We got 76% support for Healthcare, The Stockmarket has been staying a little over 9,000 for about a week. The cash for clunkers program is so successful they budget it until November but it gets the job done in a week.
But of course our Bloggers can’t get on TV because Michelle is cheap crazy girl ratings? Obama despite the stock market being above 9,000 and the Cash for Clunkers program will be called the loser this week because he did not get healthcare this week.
Then Jon McCain is going to whine that Obama isn’t bipartisan this from the guy who’s campaign rallies had cheering hordes screaming that Obama was a secret muslim.
I used to think that the Sunday talking heads were competition for church attendance. I gotta say, week after week they are becoming a sorrier lot.
You can sum up the bunch of them thusly:
“It’s all good for Republicans”
Thanks Bev for suffering through Tweety for us. I wouldn’t have watched it anyway but thanks.
This just in: Mike Pence is a moran. Now back to your regularly scheduled program.
bloggers can’t get on the teevee because they might say the word “blowj*b”
Oh the horror.
Yeah, because Dubya was such the epitome of bi-partisanship what with his love of Short Ride.
still looking for a roommate at Netroots Nation where there WILL be serious and articulate discussions of all kinds on topics of actual importance to the country.
So I don’t see anyone on the list that might conceivably bring up the topic of a vote on single payer or the Kuscnich amendment. God forbid the word should get out that those things are going to happen.
Oh and John Yoo is making bird cage lining out of the Opinion section of the Sunday Inquirer again. I won’t link. They don’t deserve the traffic. He should be disbarred, behind bars or both. Instead he’s writing about how the Dems (!) are to blame for politicizing the Sotomayor hearings.
Michelle Malkin vs EW so spreading racial hate and lying is better than saying blow job? I think some tv executives need to get laid more often.
with those kinds of minds at work, who would want to?
That he has a platform is a national disgrace.
Really we brought up race, empathy, etc Yoo lets face it your side lost….lost any hope of getting Hispanic votes for 5 years easy.
Nothing you say Yoo is going to change that. In the end results matter. Your sides actions on Sotomayor resulted in your side losing the Hispanic vote end of story.
True and I bet that only makes them angrier.
I have 2 girl kitties walking around the keyboard as I type and thunder starting to rumble in the west. Lots of storms today and I’m having 9 people at the house for a BBQ! (it was something I donated to the church auction and this was the only date even close to working for them).
gotta run off to the farmstand for some corn before the deluge. Back later.
Poor George Will the best mind the GOP could get to replace him on tv was Michelle’s. For a want to be intellectual like Will the thought that short skirts and crazy eyes is being given his slot must be frightening.
Oh, good luck with that BBQ!
I know it will be yummy, but will probably be chummy ;)
I have a lapfull of kittehs here, t-storms all around, it’s just pouring here.
Leen may want to room with you.
Imagine you are proud of your mind like George Will you think your opinions matter that reason matters. Yes I know George lies and is a hack but I’m describing how he sees himself.
Now imagine that the network? the GOP? get Michelle Malkin to fill in for you crazy girl with legs is of equal value as your mind?
I would be insulted if I were George Will.
Is Malkin’s publisher also the owner of ABC/Snuffy?….
KO/O’Leilly corp masters have spoken….
We’ll be seein’ more and more of the corporate whipcracking over their
talent*cough* puppets *cough*….Michelle Malkin, wow, that’s really, uh, “out there.”
Has any one of the broadcast or cable Sunday talk shows ever had Amy Goodman of Democracy Now on? Ever? Just once?
Charlie Rose had her on once, just before the invasion of Iraq. He became so agitated he could barely allow her a word in edgewise, and what really set him off was her saying the MCM* was not reporting facts accurately.
We know who was proved right on that one.
Oh, and I am not comparing Goodman to Malkin; but in terms of how the MCM thinks Malkin, astonishingly, is acceptable and Goodman is not. Bizarro world.
Charlie managed to say he would ask Goodman back again to discuss those issues. Of course, he never did. She went beyond the pale in pointing out he and his cohort did not report known facts. Bad guest, bad, bad guest. Blackballed guest..
Amazingly, the video is still on the Charlie Rose site! It wasn’t deep sixed, I have to give him that. Or at least it was there the last time I looked….
*MCM–Mainstream Corporate Media
I used to think that the Sunday talking heads were competition for church attendance.
I know RevDeb’s probably looking for corn for her bbq, but, I wanted to say this comment tickled my funny bone. A much needed smile for today.
Good Morning Pups who are still here.
I don’t watch the Sunday Talking Head shows. Can’t stand the totally Right Wing bias. Really, really can’t stand to watch Malkin. She reminds me of all that I dislike about humanity.
Here’s the LINK. for the Rose interview with Amy Goodman. About 17 uncomfortable minutes.
Hhhmmm–I wonder if any of the shows will discuss the promised House floor vote on Medicare for All (HR 676), the concession made to Rep. Anthony Weiner on Friday to prevent him from offering an amendment substituting HR 676 for the 1000+ page, pretzled attempt to protect Big Insurance Parasites’ (BIPs) profits and also provide some modicum of coverage for the little people, HR 3200 — mandated purchase of BIPs’ offerings.
I searched the NYTimes (Weiner’s hometown paper) and WaPo last night, not yet today, but there was…bupkis. No coverage.
The NY Daily News had an article, also a vignette report about Weiner’s use of “bupkis,” where the writer admitted to not knowing how to spell the word.
(What is the correct spelling?)
Is this going to be treated like accurate facts during the run up to the Iraq Invasion? Like the Downing Street Memos? Ignored or barely mentioned? Then, when the votes comes up, the public will be essentially blindsided–and the MCM can crow that single payer failed miserably and all those polls about people wanting a strong, real public plan like Medicare for All were just, well, wrong? And, when asked why it was not covered, the MCM can say it’s “old news”?
Damn. The MCM has learned its lessons well, but they were how to suck up to power and corporations, how to bamboozle the public — not that accurate, objective reporting is a good in and of itself.
Maybe a news organization could make that last part its business plan, even begin to grow real audience?
Hey, I can dream.
why do you think they invited Malkin?
lolz,
when I first read that, I thought you said “why do you think they invented Malkin?”
There is a forum for room/ride shares for netroots nation, but it isn’t getting the kind of use that it could:
