Hey Mary!! Ya just have to get quicker and slicker sweetie!!
Funnywheelerdiva
Who??
‘lo everyone.
Been a while since i’ve dropped by. i totally wrecked my sleeping patterns last night though. Not a good thing.
aliasofwestgate!! Hope you are doing well!!
My fingers are not a fleet as they used to be. Nor is the brainoroni.
Hey everyone! Hey FWD!
How’s it going at the pharmacy, Alias?
The pharmacy is going just fine, it’s finding a new roommate that’s driving me nuts. I make contact and some never bother to get back to me. I’m doing alright, i’m just tired of this aspect of finding a place to reside.
hey you guys! Happy to see everyone. Great video, ES.
Where do you live?
Hey Margot. Thanks for your comment earlier.
Hey Margot. How are you?
Michigan. Where more and more people are doing teh same thing. Finding roomies to cut the costs of living somewhere. I can understand but i’d kind of like to be answered back with a ‘aye’ or ‘nay’ at some point. I only have so much time before i have to be out of here.
Yo La Tengo – unique. Hey ES!
It sure sucks getting old!!
You’re very welcome.
ES??? Are you hiding on us??
Jeebus, what a baby. Innocent. Briefly.
I’m OK, how’s it going with you?
Oh. I’m thinking about renting out a room. But, that would be a long commute for ya.
What year was the Stones Second tour Mary??
FunnyDiva…… I am going well…. getting more active, doing laundry, cleaning house…… going through paperwork
Didn’t he say last night he’s having problems with his intertoobz?
FWDiva
amen!
I am good. Started walking again. Did 4.5 miles yesterday and only 3 today. Gonna get up early tomorrow and do 3 and, then, 1.5 in the evening. The dogs are really happy about it.
autumn of 1964,
1969?
Eureka Springs may well be having connection problems tonight.
You are stuck with me.
I was only 14.
Tell me about it Sunny… but then any day on this side of the Daisey’s is a great DAY!!
lurk. lurk.
we love you lurk!
It sucks to get old and then you get cancer…… so don’t push it…..
((((katymine))))!
Watch the video. You may love me much less than you think.
just a young whippersnapper (:>))
I will admit I was a tad older then… but not much more.. two more years and Uncle Sam was calling my name…
cool. What’s up.
hey katy!
saw you backthread – pretty good stuff wrt Faux news.
Hugs ((Katymine))
Oh I know that BS… But they misdiagnosed me with liver cancer and put me through two years of hell… At least that is how my Liver Doc at the VA described it…
Now I am just trying to deal with the mess they left me in… Will be seeing Pain management Dr’s in September.. They sure screwed me up!!
Hey dude, do you have to start over, or can you pick up where some earlier doc left off?
my parental unit was not united until later that year…
FWDiva
So…didn’t you eventually end up at Stanford? My mom had a good hepatologist there…
FWDiva
You need to be talking with lawyers, my friend.
Damn good question… I just don’t know Where all this BS will get me, but will just have to live with it!!
I am, regrettably, with you.
I whole heartedly agree. Both of my husbands were malpracticed upon. And one was a doc! I wonder how many people are suffering today due to the m.d.ego/arrogant syndrome?
Oh yeah but they didn’t figure everything out until I was there for a transplant and the pre op doc said I had been canceled!! We were flabbergasted! He took us to my Liver Dr and he said that it was not cancer WTF!!! And that is is hemangiomas,!!
Sure was one hell of a trip that seems to never end!!
M.D. is commonly believed to be an abbreviation for Medical Doctor. This is actually incorrect. Depending on the physician in question, it either stands for Medical Diety or Me Doctor (You Not).
Gee, you’d think that’s something they’d rule out with a diff or a biopsy or something pretty early.
you should the faces of the two 60-70 yr old couple who were in the waiting room. I was pacing and agitated (my illness causing it) and finally I pulled the plug, they were just shocked that I would mess with precious faux…..
Poor Elmore had to wait for weeks to find out what that “naughty thing was” but that very night that KO said that….. it seems that I could talk about what that naughty thing was…….
I know that it is hard to convey humor and that was meant has humor….. haha…. I can laugh at my own disease…..
I wish I could get my 80 year old mother to understand exactly how toxic Faux News is. Then again, I wish my body would process calories the way it did when I was 20. I think the two things are about equally probable.
Craziest thing is that originally the head Liver Doc at the VA said that what they were seeing was hemangiomas*%*$*# And several years later after several CT scans a Liver Clinic DR wanted me to get an MRI and than ball was rolling with a cancer diagnoses and from there I have been through hell…
I visit clients occasionally who keep it tuned in all day in every room. Their computers are screwed, but they resent me interrupting their day-long dose.
I am charging $100 per hour, and they are miffed at answering the door.
I take them for every second I am there as a surcharge for having to listen to that shit. I am not kidding.
It is not unlike hypnosis.
Damn, that’s what I remembered. What a frickin’ nightmare.
Odd that benign knots of blood vessels could’t be distinguished from actual tumor cells in a biopsy. Or in some other way, like antigens in the bloodstream or something.
Shaking head…
FWDiva
You’re on Craigslist?
Our Credit Union used to rotate among Faux News, CNN, and MSNBC, sound off and captions on. A number of us complained about Faux News and it was taken out of the rotation.
Oops. Shoulda known you’d beat me to that one…
Your beverage, doctor?
FWDiva
Hey, hey!
A biopsy would show it for sure. I’m no pathologist, but neither is someone who can’t tell the difference between a knot of blood vessels and a malignancy.
How about a Sam Adams Black Lager, in honor of the Beer Summit?
That’s just insane, mon.
And once again, the VA system proves its worth, sort of.
Sorry you had to be the exception that proved the rule, or something…
FWDiva
I’ve answered multiple ads on it looking for roommates. So far lots of non replies and two outright ‘nos’.
sliding gently down the bar, perfectly frosty, perfect head.
FWDiva
No biopsy.. If cancer it would spread it further and with hemangiomas they could cause major bleeding and would have to do surgery to try and repair the damage… Damned if they did and damned if they didn’t… How they finally came to the decision is that I had my last CT on their new high Res CT scanner 128 bit versus 16 bit…. I was either lucky or???
Well, I’m no patho, either, but I’ve got enough med-related education to at least know the basic tests!
Shee-it!
FWDiva
Honey….. I had advanced disease found on the first CT’s prior to my surgery in 2007 but no one told me….. had that HDIL when I had brain tumors which are a big NO NO
It wasn’t until I went to Mayo that I had excellent care. So when I go on and on about Mayo there is reason, they found the brain tumors, they found my airway obstructed, and I have one question….. why didn’t the non-mayo doctor see this on the 2/23/09 scans when it was found on 4/10/09?
Gracias, Mlle Funny Diva.
Just finished watching maybe the best Bill Maher Show in years.
Michael Ware come on late and dominated. It was engrossing and terribly frightening.
Oh, and Rachel was a blast.
Aha. Those are your basic nasty dilemmas.
Hi Mary
I rested yesterday and hit the 4.2 mile Bluff Trail about 6pm tonight. Improved 10% again down to 7.7 minute per mile from 12mpm last week. BP 78 over 66 after hour rest. Pleased.
Congrats on the endurance walks. Try some fast/slow walk to burn calories or find hills. Good work
There just sometimes seems to be no answer to it all!! No wonder they say it is a practice and not a science!! We be fucked!!
VA here made French Catholic Hospital look like an accident waiting to happen. They got me infected with bad bac had to unstitch and add another antibiotic. VA had it down. Very competent and pro. And pleasant.
Hey BB. Must be in the 90’s down there.
Doctors see stuff and decide for whatever reason that it’s ignorable in this case. My mother has a hiatal hernia that may need surgery. Her Kaiser primary care physician (a real quack, I know more medicine than he does and my doctorate is in Statistics) saw the hernia in an upper GI series that was done two years ago. From her symptoms, I was suspecting hiatal hernia but when they did the upper GI and got an all clear I figured that wasn’t it.
The symptoms have gotten worse over the past two years, and he finally referred her to a gastroenterologist. That’s when she found out that the hernia had been there two years ago.
I’m really grateful for my internist here. When she doesn’t know what’s going on, she says so. When test results are not normal, she informs and if she thinks it’s benign says so.
Oh, OK, that does make sense.
In that case, I’m going to go with lucky you got a last scan on the latest, greatest CT machine. Hard to believe a place like Stanford Med wouldn’t be an early adopter of such technology, but who knows.
Honestly, the whole transplant thing would have sucked way, way worse.
Maybe you get to be the poster-child for highest-res CT scanning before scheduling the full-metal transplant…
FWDiva
I think I’m glad I didn’t need any hospital-level care while I was there at SLO-poly. If it’s that bad now, it wasn’t any better in the lat ’80s early ’90s!
Sorry you had to go through the ordeal!
FWDiva
that is why my line is….. first you get old then you get cancer…… you are fucked either way!
shutting it down and heading off to bed….. reading a funny book by John Grisham called Playing for pizza….. old burned out quarterback left the states in scandal and takes a contract for the Italian football league (real football-no soccer)…… read it a while ago and now that I have been in Italy, will enjoy it more…….. Go Parma Panthers…… and good night to all…..
But but… Because they at first wanted MRI’s with Contrast and after the third one
I had a bad reaction to the contrast (gadolinium)and was pretty much laid up for two months and have been in constant pain ever since… all the different
Doctors say they can’t figure out why so
I will be seeing the Pain Management Drs in September…
In the mean time I just take Vicodine as needed… it sucks…
night Katy sleep well sweetie(:>))
Uh Unh foggy cool. “There’s a chill in the air”…feels like Frisco without the wind.
Nice!
nite katymine
That’s called San Bruno. I grew up there.
Well I am peanut butter and toast..
Night Pups thanks for you ear…
Nite Katy slafen Sie sehr gut!
Hi Newt since I injured paws started jog/run and I am glad not so sore as rowing hard. How you be?
Night Katymine, have a sweet sleep.
Fine, thanks.
Speaking frankly, I hope I have half your steam when I hit 70.
best to ya
nite nahant
Night Katy
And, oh, crap, Nahant! So, it was the contrast that did you in. And if I had to guess, such reactions haven’t been well enough studied for anyone to have a decent idea of the mechanism.
Have they checked ya for auto-immune craziness? I wonder if there’s something that could chelate the dye (like they do with some radioactive isotopes).
Hmmm.
Well, I’d better sign off, too. Night pups and thank for the great company!
FWDiva
Good night Katy, nahant.
And I’m going to head for the bed too.
Good night folks.
For me this is an experiment in age reversal. My goal is to outperform me at 40 when I was running six 6;45 pace miles. I know a lot more physiology, diet and training now. I need less sleep but lag on fast recovery a bit but that is improving. My coach the fastest runner in the Baywood run usually keeps telling me to cool it. I ran every day then, now I rest a day and get fuller recovery. The human body is pretty adaptable if you know how to run it and feed it. Listen to it it will tell you what to do. The BP after the run was pretty impressive.
Thanks for the encouragement.
LOL! In this case encouragement = reluctant envy. But I don’t listen so well. Have to try harder.
No HBO here! I’ll have to wait for the internets.
New Rules – Maher summed up the Dem communication deficit very well – get out in front of the Gooper bullshit (birthers, health care designed to kill seniors, Socialist takeover, etc) before it becomes gospel. Smack it down hard and fast and with brutality.
Like we have been shouting here for years.
i am out. see you pups later
Night, newt.
What is God but our projected hopes when we do not believe in ourselves? What is the Devil but our fears and anger that we do believe in a little.
We want the good but only in dreams can we get most folks to believe in such irrational ideas (look at Realpoltic as practiced by Henry Kissenger, Pat Buchanan and the NeoCons the good is always unrealistic change for conservatives is always unrealistic) granted Games Theory proves that idea wrong but in our heads we don’t believe in good so we created God as a Superman to do what we can’t believe in our selves.
The Devil on the other hand we have no problem believing in is Man Hardwired to Pessimism?
Is the Left’s rejection of God a way of saying yes we can be good and decide the good without someone telling us to can we choose to be good?
Is the Right’s saying No to change and quoting the bible not often an excuse to prevent change and disturb the rich established order?
Pio NoNo seems an example of someone caught in this conflict.

Is Empathy, Love the feeling understanding of how an other feels as if it were our own concern the Lizard brain emotional reason we first choose to be good by imaging stories of the bad happening to ourselves?
And or do we act good at first to please our parents.
How do morals grow and why in kids?
I reject your premise that the Left rejects God.
I associate with the Left of Martin Luther King, Jr.
I associate with the Left of Liberation Theology.
I associate with the Left of Dorothy Day, one of the founders of the Catholic Worker movement.
And I also associate with Tikkun and other progressive Jewish groups.
I like Jim Wallis’ answer in his book, How the Right Gets it Wrong, and How the Left Doesn’t Get it.
But what I really want to know is why there wasn’t any Rachel Maddow show today?
Bob in HI
Good morning all. Anyone up?
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins, Blow and Herbert this morning. Ms. Collins, in “Have Gun, Will Travel,” points out that in order to come to a sensible national consensus on guns, Americans on both sides of the debate, especially politicians, need to focus more on empathy and compromise. Mr. Blow, in “Swan Songs?”, says piracy, single song downloads and now free, legal music streaming have all contributed to the breathtakingly fast dissolution of the music industry. (About which I know nothing — I turned the radio off when they started playing disco. Oh, yeah, get off my lawn…) Mr. Herbert says “Anger Has Its Place,” and that instead of eschewing anger in the face of continuing and deeply racist criminal justice outrages, ordinary black Americans need to channel those emotions into action that will bring change.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, the cold drinks are in the fridge for later, and I’ve got French toast made with challah, and warm maple syrup. We had another of what seems to be becoming almost nightly thunderstorms with drenching rain last night, so at least in this part of the state the drought is definitely over.
To answer bobschacht’s question about Rachel, probably because it was Friday night and MSNBC thought we were all in the mood to watch “MSNBC Undercover: Sex Slaves in America.” Feh. Thank heaven for SyFy… Have a great day.
Rachel was on the Bill Maher show last night.
They cling to the rules we stick to the spirit. I’m sorry If I ever implied we don’t. I spend to much time thinking like a GOPer to predict them and think of their next move I do need a calling out on occasion.
Your reaction as what I hoped for.
Solai what do you think of cash for clunkers? I will check in later but I have to sleep. Still your opinion on this will tell me something. bye
Bob I wish I had the brains to debate more I think we agree but its my phrasing that keeps us apart. I’m tired I’m sorry I wish I could argue more.
Every idea needs to be challenged! Keep arguing another time or on facebook we can talk.
Good morning.
It occurs to me that Cash for Clunkers may not turn environmentally friendly for many years, when you consider the energy content of mining, refining and shaping the news metals, and the petroleum products that go into the plastics and tires in the car. How many years before the increased mileage offsets the energy required to make a new car?
In the historic structures movement, the saying is that the most envirnmentally friendly house is the one that already exists, for precisely the considerations of the environmental cost of a new house. I wonder if the same thing might not be true for cars, mileage not withstanding.
WJ reads a report that Dodd has prostrate cancer & will get surgery at Sloan Kettering.
Good point we need to up the mpg requirement.
