es!
Good evening, Sunny..)
Here kitty, kitty.
ES Late but never left behind!! Hey Pups how ya doing tonight??
meow meow!!
Hey Nahant, ES and SunnyNobility!
Mary did ya enjoy your trip Saturday???
Ya think a BBQ meetup will work in early October??
Nahant,
Since leaving your house and seeing the pics of the meetup I started a diet. Jeebus K. Krist! Steroids sure puff a girl up.
Was taking ‘em for five months for massive allergies. Now I am walking four or five miles a day and eating NO carbs. How long will it take for me to lose 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 lbs? I need to find a walking buddy.
After listening to the “birthers” and the “deathers” I think there should be a psych test for the goppers pols.
Saturday was great. Afterwards I went to San Anselmo and stayed with Sara, my kid. We always have fun together.
They sure are flailing about.
New dog to walk the 5 or 6 miles you want?? Maybe a golden retriever or a rottweiler?
cat after bath, hiding under bed
Still having terrible internet problems here. it’s like someone pulled the plug Sunday evening. Verizon took over my old Alltel network.
Took 12 forking minutes to reload this page. I told newtonusr earlier this evening… the best thing about a receding hairline is one cannot pull out their own hair on days like this. /s
Maybe Max should change his ways!!
Hiya, pups. just put up 17 batches of pesto. Off to Seattle, Port Gamble and Arcata early Friday, after I finish teaching summer school.
Working class?
They said I had no class.
Since when did a cat like a BATH??
On second thought, the gop has stolen our treasury, retirement acc., homes and jobs. Are they planning a coo, or riots, or that 3rd ww the maniacs on the far right have talked abt so much. The ugliness of them doesn’t suggest they are campainging because with this kind of craziness they will surely lose more elections.
I have two dogs to walk now. We did five miles today. The key is to keep it up. I am really motivated. My daughter told me by body was starting to morph around the computer. That sent the message home.
Here is one of the dogs, Suki. She is batshit crazy in a good way.
I love San Anselmo area.. and I can’t ever think of it without singing the Van Morrison song.
Evening, ES and Pups!
How is everyone?
It’s supposed to get down to 75 here over night, YAY!!!
102 in Seattle, today, for only the 3rd time in recorded weather. Something wooden burned near my neighborhood. Smoke and still, hot air…not too pleasant. But the particulates in the air make for great sunsets.
Thank goodness for the local $3 movie-house.
FunnyWheelieDiva
Yeah, I know what you mean.
I can’t help but think it’s all kabuki. Intentional delay so we the people who would like to read a committee recommendation won’t have the time a three week break would allow.
I would love to live there. Ron lived in San Anselmo/San Rafael/Fairfax for 30 years.
What is that? Why,,,it’s a backbone in DC! How did that get there?
It is like 20 pounds jumped out of the bushes and kidnapped me about five years ago. And a the last ten came along for a joyride in the last few months. Who is that fluffy little old lady in those pictures?
Hiya FWD, Been incredibly mild here.. highs in upper 70’s to 80’s most of the month. The kind of strange I love. Glad you are getting a break.
Hey, buddy
Got time for lunch in Seattle somewhere along the way?
FunnyWheelieDiva
Louis tolerates his semi-annual shower, in a befuddled way…
Link not working.
punaise !!!! How are you?
LOL!
All your milkbonze are belong to ME!!!
FWDiva
Reminds me of my first Dog Joe… He was a cross between a Beagle and a Golden Retriever..
Does Suki have enough milk bones in her mouth??
ET phone Nome.

Presto pesto, do your very best-o
(at 0:50)
I’m in desperate need of a walking buddy. For exercise and sun. Looking like whale belly.
We have a decidedly unappetizing pool – shallow, tepid and full of screaming kids (though we have few kids). Why it’s shallow is a mystery.
Awwwww, what a handsome!
I used to live with his look-alike, Jesse. All apricot…no white at all.
Now it’s just me and my Buster.
FWDiva
Absolutely, but the schedule is nowhere near set yet. Can’t wait to meet you. Do you do libretti? I’m thinking of a comic opera project, titled Saradise Lost. 907-355-6962.
hey Mary! doing OK. missed the meet-up due to an amazing backpacking trip in the Sierras…
That is exactly what we say!
Nice! Did you drive up 80 or 50?
But it is all Kabuki and it is high time we made the fuckers pay for their betrayal of the good people of this country!!
It is the shaft we stuck up some of their asses… now we need to stick it up the rest of their butts so we get what we want!!
hadn’t heard apricot for a tabby before. ginger, orange, etc.
friendly cats, although Louis is pretty solitary.
And what was up with the reform advocate on Countdown tonight, saying how we’re all supposed to be letting our congresscritters know our views?!! What kind of stoopid is that? It’s not that we’re not getting the message out…it’s that THEY’RE not getting the message.
Oh, and for Dr/Gov Dean to ask if it’s kind of the progressives’ fault for not controlling the discussion. GAH! More stoopider even.
FEH.
FWDiva
Eureka !
MaryMc, the only way I lose weight is when I’m Walking on Sunshine
I’m sure Harry Reid will remove it over the Summer Break …
Btw, the guy who made the cat torture video has what looks like may be an interesting web page.
http://www.danilop.com/
aww he is a cutie… but bath time for a cat is like sentencing them to eternal hell….
Lyons Creek trailhead east of Kyburz on 50 (Desolation Wilderness). give me a minute to upload some pix.
I love that video. lalalaaalaaalala.
Oh, yay.
I’ve never attempted a libretto. There’s a local guy who did “Mackris v O’Reilly” as an oratorio, though!
I love your idea. Sarah’s music could be a complete mish-mash of every saccharine musical cliche known to man. Or, something muzak-y.
Can I shoot you email via your blog?
FWDiva
There will be another in October!! Looking like the second week end!!
Damm well straight Jane has the FDLers calling lets see the numbers pro and con to congress and then lets see how many pro GOP calls are from healthcare industry folks!
I actually saw that with my sister when it came out. At the Des Moines Theater in Des Moines WA. I think it was a double feature with a Jerry Lewis & Dean Martin movie- Cinderfella.
Oh my, I missed Dean asking that question. Good grief.
To all hospital staff,
Please do not let “Dr” Reid anywhere near the patients.
Thank you,
The Patients
Wisconsin on the other hand is facing the coldest summer in 19 years according to my sister. Global warming will not be uniform hotter across the board everywhere. But it will mean change across the board.
Please shoot the email. The second act opens at a turkey farm.
I guess I’m kind of borrowing it from the apricot poodles. I guess I could refer to him as a strawberry blonde. Technically he’s a ginger tom, I guess, but kind of a pastel shade…
FWDiva
tres bien!
butterscotch?
Had a kitty who looked just like Louis. Best cat ever (child who found him named him Melon, promptly morphed into Melancholybaby, ultimately Mr Baby).

Ice cores only mean the local climate kept having ice a micro clime next to the ice when every thing got warm it was still cold there!
What happens when those ice cores are melting and not depositing a new layer of ice? Are new layers of ice still being formed, Yes but for how long when a new layer of ice is not formed in Greenland can we call the Senator from Oklahoma wrong?
OMG … sounds great, ET !
Butterscotch, yeah, That works.
Love the story of Mr Baby, SunnyN. Sounds like the cats I used to live with in Ballard. Given names, nicknames and then variations on nicknames. But I love melon-to-melancholy baby.
FWDiva
Cat lover
You could parody Neil Young’s “Ain’t Singing For Pepsi, Ain’t Singing For Coke” and have Sarah do “Ain’t SInging For Giblets, Ain’t Singing For McCain” – this vote’s for you..
Looks like the Sierras to me rocks rocks and some water…
Orangish Kitties are the friendliest and the bravest evah. My experience anyway.
Mellon collie and the infinite sadness – The Smashing Pumpkins
Great pic!
Seattle is very warm very weird but Wisconsin is not? A cold summer means normally a very cold winter up there but with global warming I won’t make no bets. Weather patterns are changing but these changes are not solid until until the ecosystem gets balanced.
These changes I think are not going to last.
Imagine a bomb going off in a box of weather everything goes which way until balance is restored.
hiking on a bumpy trail we reprised a Bob Marley song as “Roots, Rock, Rubble”
Well…we call Jesse “weenie man”. Friendly, yes. Brave…not so much.
A story of 3 cats. Once, very late on a summer’s night, a raccoon scaled the rose arbor up to the balcony and looked in the glass door. Corliss, chief Princess of the house, went over to hiss and “bark” at the intruder. Shadow stayed where she was, but looked on with interest. Jesse bravely, bravely ran to the other end of the house and hid under mom’s bed. I’m sure he’d say he was just advancing in a different direction…
FWDiva
Wow…thank you, pun, beautiful.
I had a wonderful cat named Roosevelt. He was afraid of nothing. Once I took him to the vet and he laid down with three golden retrievers. He came to us as an adult. Clearly, he was raised with dogs.
Al Gore is an optimist! Image the temp diff on Mars, Venus etc between night and day. If we go to far plants can’t handle that. they die first then we die.
I expect crop failures soon not because the temp went up 5 degrees but because the difference in the temp daily or weekly went up or down to much.
Again its my theory sorry no links.
I used to love to hike up there out of Tuolumne Meadows but time & health have caught up with me (:>((
Maybe getting it out of Bauchus’ committee is half the battle.
Those are beautiful. How far away from Sac is it?
The first opera with a libretto based on what people actually said was John Adams’ Nixon in China, in 1984. Palin offers such unparalleled riches in that area, eh?
Raccoons the Aztecs called the little thieves as long as no food is around they won’t fight if given a choice if they do call animal control about rabies.
bye for now
So strange.
Well time for me to bail for the night…
Night Pups!!
Me, too. Have to get up early and walk at least three miles! Then two in the afternoon. Goodnight.
You and Buster? What do you mean?
Yup.
But don’t forget to google “mackris v o’reilly” the oratorio.
FWDiva
Night Nahant and sleepy pups.
Well now, I beg to differ on the ” won’t fight” thing. Racoons lured my 120 lb. Giant Schnauser/Giant German Shepard mix hed dog out into the Puget Sound and almost drown her. This was a dog that loved to swim and would patrol the coastline. The neighbors would think a sea lion had moved in but it was only Zoey, doing patrol.
Almost killed her. The sounds were terrible when you knew it was your dog out there. Actually, that incident became a folk story because it woke everyone up that night.
FWD…my soulmate,
I think that the MSM plea to call congrescritters was directed toward people not reading the good blogs.
Remember back when we were raising kids and not paying enough attention to Iran Contra?
Me and my Buster Kitten. I moved out of the house in Ballard, now known as the Triple Cat Ranch and into my own condo, so Buster is an only kitten.
I still see Corliss, Jesse and Shadow fairly frequently, since former housemate is still a good friend.
Hi, Loo Hoo!
FWDiva
Maybe the citizens of Montana who elected him should change theirs. Montana recieves $1.47 in federal funds for every dollar they pay in taxes, making them 11-th on the list of pigs at the public trough. But if they are going to send a senator who fucks up healthcare for the rest of us, there’s no reason that generosity ought to continue.
Ruh, roh! I remember being a kid and not paying enough attention to Iran Contra! Sr year in HS, iirc. 1986.
Yeah, I’m now a genuine cranky FDL-lovin’ wanna-be DFH. Have to watch the news by myself because I talk back to the teebee too much.
I still think the Countdown men could have made a point about ongoing efforts by constituents to get the ‘critters to pay attention. It’s really time they got called out on not bloody listening.

Mary, ya cut yerself to 1,200 cals daily, less if possible, get some fiber in there (we’re talkin salads and rabbit food veggies 3-4 days a week, 40z portions once a day of any meats or chicken or fish), and keep walkin them 3-5 miles per day! And I’m here to tell ya, that’s a LOT of walkin, so GOOD on ya!
I’ve cut to 1,600 daily, with an hour daily in gym. 30 min up to 130 heartrate on treadmill, all walking with inclines, INCLINES I say . . . . and another half hour on a variety of machines (all Nautalis no free weights for me) to work upper body, lower and upper back, lower and mid stomach/abs, and legs (rowing machine does upper body and legs just fine).
27lbs in 40 days.
Go get ‘em gal . . . . I’ve another 70 to lose in the next 11 months, and hope to do it in 8 months, but we’ll see.
I have a dear fest pal, she’s highly allergic and asthmatic . . . when she HAS to, the prednisone shrivels her up in a corner for a few months and plays HELL with her thyroid and metabolism . . . she’s always fighting weight issues. But she’s in LA, and working on getting out to healthier and cleaner air . . .
So, them ‘roids DO mess with a body . . . from what I hear . . . you hang tough, and keep walking!
20 lbs in 40 days should be a breeze if ya cut the cals . . . and no starches, by by bread, pastas, rice, etc. Once a week is too much . . . unless of course, you count yer cals and take the starch for it’s value-for instance, one cup of cooked pasta is roughly 175 cals depending on the type. One 6oz skinless boneless chicken breast is 170. One cup of rice cooked is 175 or MORE . . . . one egg is 100 cals.
300 cals for breakfast (yogurt, nuts, oatmeal with fruit, yadda yadda fruit has HIGH cals!(
300 cals salad only lite dressing for lunch with veggies (no cals in veggies!)
Leaves ya 600 cals for dinner . . . .
An hour a day of exercise with heart rate up above 120 with weight exercises burns only 200 cals!!!
It MIGHT burn a few more during the day, but ya can’t eat like a tri-athlete and have 6,000 cal meals and hope the exercise burns it off . . . .
Keep it at 1,200 or 1,000 if ya can, with 3-5 miles walking . . . you’ll do fine! *TRUST ME!* ;-)
Thanks – still downloading (dial-up). So far so good :-)
Where’d ya go?
probably 1.5 hours out of Sacto, max. lots of day-hikers there , too (4.5 miles along meadows to Lyons Creek in to Sylvia Lake and Lyons Lake).
Right on!!
We were getting screwed in 1986 from Neil Bush et al’s collapsing of the economy thru Savings and Loans fiascos. Economic slow down, etc, etc. The next year, our wedding year, the shit started hitting the fan. The burnnnnnnnnnn…………….
Nebbah mine Pun, saw yer post . . . Deso Wild . . .
It’s just that they got away with the criminal activities because we were all too busy to pay proper attention. We assumed that America was America. We didn’t expect that the leaders of our nation would try to ruin us.
Who could have guessed?
I just wrote to Igor.
#4 is absolute KILLER Pun . . . indian paintbrush and rock scrabble above the tree line . . NICE! *G*
to see the man about a dogto the corner storeto #51
Excellent. Actually, I’m a little surprised you don’t already know (of) each other, but maybe the world isn’t quite as small as I like to think.
Did you find his series of blog posts about getting the work produced? Quite the story.
FWDiva
hey thanks. Pyramid Peak in the background. too bad I skewed the horizon and blurred the foreground…
Tuolumne Meadows to Desolation Wild at Tahoe is a two week or more pack!!!!!
I used to do two and three week packs without refills . . . longer with food stashes along the way.
Tuolumne to Deso is a hike, hoss . . . . a GOOD one! *G*
sounds like the Pacific Crest Trail
good night y’all
Nah, it’s fine as it is . . . I miss the Sierra . . . Tuolumne to Kings Canyon were my stomps.
Never DID bag Whitney . . . or many others, but spent lots of time up at 12K to 13K . . . *G*
I gotta run Puppers . . . sleep well all and let’s hope that time will tell us a better healthcare reform story than the one we’re being fed to date . . . .
Goodnight, pun
and I’m right behind ya. Sleep well, pups and thanks for the company!
FWDiva
we were at 8 – 10k, minor league stuff (looking at ET’s Alaska) but you still feel it
Last one . . . I feel it at 5K camping out at a fest!!! Out of shape, not young . . *sigh* lol
Hello ES et al.
Was jogging day before at 12 minutes a mile fo 3.4miles today got it down to 8.8 for 4.2 miles. So upped intensity 25% by taking a day off and using interval training on hills to finish regular workouts. Nice one day increase for 72 year old.
Went to the college counselor for career change training today. Take another try at it. 2 years
larue-chicago is in Conan NOW!!
Was just about to give up..and my connect speed kicked back in.
punaise, great photos! Love those flowers (paintbrush?).
Here’s hoping this gets through….
Good night firedogs.
