You know, I’m not sure if Rep Pete King will denounce Mr. Limbaugh.

However, I sure would like to know if Rep. Tom Price will confirm that he will most definitely NOT bill his taxpayer-funded heathcare plan for any services that he may or may not have received and/or may not be planning to receive from Canadian Healthcare Hater Shona Robertson-Holmes with whom he shared a conference call earlier this evening.

And what kinds of services does the good Ms. Robertson-Holmes, the lady who didn’t actually have a malignant brain tumor, but kinda/sorta pretended she did in the services of the Haters’ Club, have on offer……?

Why, all kinds of stuff.

Which includes, but is not limited to, cyber sex addiction therapy.

Imagine that!

Your “ignore them” refrain is not exclusively about Limbaugh. The “ignore them” refrain has been the death of progressive media for nearly two decades. Limbaugh is but one boil in need of lancing among many, including the conglomerates such as Clear Channel Communications/radio which have swamped the airwaves and print media. That is what I meant about the foolishness of thinking, after years of learning otherwise, that “ignore them” is a winning approach, or non approach, to a dangerous and fatal problem.

Today on Ass Limbo’s show he was talking about the new fluorescent light bulbs & how Obama & Gates are snobs (he mingled these two subjects together). Then in the next breath he says he has enough light bulbs in his possession for the next 10 years (only the uber wealthy would!) and then says, “How the heck are we going to use these bulbs in chandeliers?!!!!!!”. Instantly he realizes how he’s coming across (as a snobby asshole) and then says, (paraphrasing) “Errr….every lamp is a chandelier. I don’t want you people to think I’m a wealthy snob. I’m just a regular guy. Really”.

What is really being “sold” through Mike’s interactions is the failure of these elected officials to be accountable to anyone on issues that speak to voters or the public. When they see these entitled people refusing time and again to answer basic questions, they will begin to have a few questions of their own. Like, “That guy wants my vote? Hel-lo.”

Not advertisers

Advertisers, to paraphrase T.E Lawrence, can be swung on an idea as on a cord…especially when that idea is diminished profit due to association with an unsavory character.

As for the rest of whose minds cannot be changed…The true Right and Left in America are by definition minorities - yet they (especially the Right) are oft touted as crucial demographics by a fawning media with vested interests in the outcome of their reporting, who are in turn owned by corporations dependent on advertising revenue to maintain a flow of commerce…One follows the other.
Should that income be impeded, such entities would have no desire to prop up a failing enterprise, as the profit motive would find that unacceptable in toto.
The history of Mass Media is shot through with the stories of pressure groups who bring their subjective interests to bear on recalcitrant objectives with success.
