It sure sounds like Der Groenfuehrer. East coast tail is certainly not out of the realm of the possible. It’s far from home, thus minimizing the crossing of paths, money, no impediment there. Conventions, politicing and the like on the East Coast – plenty of opportunity. Please, please, let it be Der Grop. . . Maybe, just maybe the break we need.

Ed Rendell

I hate to say it, but there are a few key clues: He’s near New York (Arnold lives in California, if he wanted a hooker he would not need to fly across the country with Los Angeles and Las Vegas so near-by) and he is a ‘prominent’ governor. It was also worth noting that the wife was ‘prominent’; as a Third Circuit Judge appointed by Bill Clinton, Marjorie Rendell certainly qualifies as prominent in her own right.

I narrowed the field to 4. I took all the current governors that were elected prior to 2006. From there I kept only the men, and then checked their spouse’s wikipedia page. If their spouse had no wikipedia page, I deleted them. If their spouse’s only noted accomplishment was being First lady, I deleted them too. I cut Mark Sanford, because he obviously doesn’t have the political savvy to keep something like this out of the news. I kept the Dems, because I really see no evidence that this MUST be a Repub. From that, there are 4 possibilities:

Arnold Schwarzenegger
Tim Pawlenty
Ed Rendell
Phil Bredesen

Yeah, it’s probably Governor Edwards or Governor Ensign or Governor Dodd. Yeah, that’s the ticket. Or maybe Governor Biden or Governor Cheney.

If it is a prominent governor, I’m thinking somebody is picking off possible pres. candidates for 2012..John Edwards, Mark Sanford, Ensign..Chris Dodd took out the amendment for CEO bonuses from the bank bail out bill ’cause the WH wanted him to.

Good enough. We have enough corrupt govt. reps..let the games begin.

By far the most prominent wife is Maria Shriver, but not the only possibility.

I agree she’s the most prominent, but the comment of Annie’s that she subsequently found out he was married makes me think it must not be the Governator. Even if you don’t follow politics, or entertainment, I think that’s just one of those things people know. But maybe not.
