In WaPo this am re: the CIA’s assassination program.

Democratic lawmakers have accused the CIA of deliberately misleading Congress by failing to disclose the program’s existence until the briefing by Panetta on June 24. House Democrats, citing an account given by Panetta, say then-Vice President Richard Team B. Cheney personally ordered the CIA not to tell Congress about the initiative…

Team B was also instructed not to sing about the launching of the jet fuel-laden missiles into the towers, nor about the subsequent CD of said towers and Building 7.

For those who do not believe in govt conspiracy theories (I used to be in that group; now I keep an open mind, to see what evidence accumulates), it might be helpful to listen to Daniel Ellsberg explain how it works. It’s not just fear of losing your job if you tell, it’s that you are part of the power structure and that is an aphrodesiac.

EPUd from below… we don’t know who actually directed those attacks and in the case of the pentagon what actually hit it. We’ve seen no evidence to back up their cover story.

That attack cam in hand to ramp up the national security state to go to the ME and get us some secure access and control over the oil of their as well a a few trillion in cash for over priced military “expenditures”.

Everyone was waving flags and out to get the new arab menace. How convenient.

I don’t discount them out of hand but Alex Jones and his followers have a lot of questions but no hard evidence. Just theories. If the theories stopped at just how the buildings came down, how there’s no wing damage to the Pentagon, etc, that’d be ok but they have to connect people to those actions and that’s nonsense. I suppose I could sit at home and dream shit up too but I’ve got better things to do.

Thats it piss off the Cuban voters you GOP weasels give us Florida and probably Texas. Pat Buchanan thinks McCain could have won if he got more of the white vote which is true. Pat thinks pissing off Hispanics is the way to get more of the White vote?
As if Sarah’s hate rallies and the fear of an African American President did not get every Pat Buchanan voter out on election day.
But Pat’s views are revealing the GOP thinks that to win next time they need to get more White votes, and appealing to hate is the way to do it.
I’n not sure what is worse their morals or their logic.

Cuban Americans are like Fundie Americans– there’s only one issue they care about and they can be completely controlled using that one issue. As long as the Pukes maintain the embargo against Cuba they won’t lose that constituency.

However, Hispanics are the fastest growing voting bloc and the GOP is committing suicide by alienating them. And it’s a constituency they could make headway with if they tried because they tend to be culturally conservative.

Had McCain been willing to drape Jeremiah Wright around the neck of Barack Obama, as Lee Atwater draped Willie Horton around the neck of Michael Dukakis, the mainstream media might have howled.

And McCain might be president.

So, let me get this straight. McCain needed to pick up three percent more of the white vote, which he could have done if he’d only been willing to jump around on the hustings like a paranoid monkey, shrieking, “BOOGA BOOGA FOO! JEREMIAH WRIGHT!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…..33314.html

Pat and the GOP despite the polls really think that all Whites are as racist as they are.

Nixon was evil but smart I don’t see a single GOPer today who comes close. I have not read the book I admit but if voters are paying attention to the issues I think we win. But if the GOP makes the election about gossip, hate etc we lose.
Still 2 wars, a bad economy, a healthcare debate draws allot of attention to the issues.

RiezFischer the younger Cubans did go more for Obama than their parents did I’m thinking Glen Beck and Lou Dobbs have made it hard for anyone with a Spanish last name the racists don’t ask if your Cuban.

maintain the embargo against Cuba they won’t lose that constituency.

Do you live in FL? There’s a sea change against the embargo with the younger Cuban-Americans. The old moustache petes that pumped money and energy into keeping the embargo going are either dying off or losing what influence they had over the younger crowd.

GE Mornin’ Killer Joe and Mika and a Wingnut author of a book are having a crying moment. Wah, Waa….aah. the liberals are mean to us and the libs hate, hate hate. A liberal was asked if he hated Republicans, and he said “YES!”.

But it gets worse. The Wingnut Author said: “One of the things I write about in my book is how hard it is to find romance if you are a conservative.”

You would think eight years of Oil Wars, Torture, NSA Stasi, and electronic fraudulent voting machines, would be enough romance. Plus there is that dreamy Sarah Barracuda.

By pushing the truth (everybody here does google searches when they hear something they don’t like, and they ask for links when they like something) we get better informed on the issues. Also it helps us stay interested in the issues.
The GOP however pushes a party line the same response to the same question which is asked on every network and newspaper because they are all on script.
This “Message Discipline ” is not a strength first when everybody says the same thing this bores people. Boredom used to work for the GOP quite well they win low turnout elections.
However as I already stated our side is interested in the issues the GOP can’t win if there side is bored with the one correct GOP answer to any issue.
The GOP can’t win with only One Answer because it only takes One of us to blow a hole in whatever Idea they are pedaling. Our sides disorganization our arguing is our strength we kill weak ideas before they get airplay.
Younger People are learning they can’t quote Rush or Beck online because we Lefties will respond with dozens of links proving them wrong.
Now maybe if the GOP stopped lying so much their One Answer to any issue approach might work better repeating stuff until people believe it works best if nobody objects.
