Gee, such a shame I don’t have tivo – be nice to tape the After Words interview of Dead Intern Joe by Nooners…
Good morning all. Thank you Elliott for your labors/ Your lineup is the best on the net.
Good morning everyone. Thanks Elliott. Another glorious day to be outdoors will save me from talking heads.
Joe Scarborough, “The Last Best Hope: Restoring Conservatism and America’s Promise,” interviewed by Peggy Noonan.
OMFG! CSPAN, at long last, has no shame. Yet another republic quitter interviewed by an idiotic loon. I suppose we now know that “After Words” actually means “the place moronic, partisan shills with nothing to add to the political discourse go to be
interviewedfluffed by moronic, partisan shills with nothing to add to the political discourse.”.Good morning Elliott (and all pups) and thanks for the post.
Good morning, pups. It’s MoDo, Egan, Kristof and Rich today. MoDo has created another one of her tiresome little fiction pieces. They become more and more cringe-worthy as time goes on. This one is called “Sweet, Tweet Revenge,” and purports to be a remarkable exchange between John McCain and Sarah Palin, the erstwhile mavericky twins, in bites of 140 characters or less. It’s horrendous. Mr. Egan, in “Michelle’s Next Mission,” says fewer people are visiting our national parks, but the first lady might have the star power to reverse the trend. Mr. Kristof writes about “Clean, Sexy Water,” and says a charity group to provide clean water has been stunningly successful, thanks to the marketing talents of its founder, a former nightclub promoter. Mr. Rich says “She Broke the G.O.P. and Now She Owns It,” and that as the Republicans’ lone charismatic performer, Sarah Palin has come to represent a dwindling white nonurban America that is aflame with grievances.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, the iced drinks are in the fridge for later, and I’ve got French toast waffles this morning. I also have some wonderful Ranier and Bing cherries I fell upon with squeals of glee in the market yesterday. I love cherries, and these are delicious. I’m heading out to fill the bird feeders and revel in the cool morning. Have a great day.
Isn’t it just so very nice that one could mix and match the Roundtables on Press The Meat and Snufflelaupagus and no one would know the difference? Village idiots are village idiots, no matter the channel and the make-up.
Beltway pundits and talking heads are merely enablers of the status quo and the conventional wisdom of a plutocracy. They add nothing to true political discourse.
Correction:
Isn’t Noon the same one who talked about W as that good man who can good speeches…Not sure she is to be trusted.
Morning alllll.
It’s been suggested that Lindsey Graham was the thigh grabber of David Brooks. I can’t help but ask, would Lindsey stop at the thigh?
Mathews OK, not great. Discusses if Ob is conservation or more like FDR…Pretty good.
OT: For those interested in the upcoming battle over the exact wording of the healthcare bill, I recommend this Dkos diary by Jane’s new ally, nyceve, a crusading healthcare professional who posts a lot of excellent Dkos diaries and who coined the term “murder by spreadsheet” for the industry’s practices of denying healthcare even to policy holders.
Yes, she loved her some W. Until she didn’t.
… and would Bobo stop him?
OT: something big could be coming out about Goldman Sachs:

Econ, did you see this?
For you ladies out there (and gentlemen, too)……How long would you allow a man’s hand to remain on your inner thigh before removing it? Unless, of course, you either liked it or would go to extraordinary lengths to be considered a team player.
A matter of nanoseconds.
OT: One of the interesting elements in the Bobo story is that it reflects the contrast of men and women…Most women are quite familiar with the grope, perhaps from acquaintances or strangers (guy on the bus, etc). As far as I know, a less frequent occurrance for men. Apparently, even here, a woman was not doing the groping. Would one say that women are developmentally delayed? Or not? I had not really thought much about this contrast….impulse control, whatever.
thank you kindly.
Good morning, It’s going to be a steamer here.
And groan, there are some bleak choices this week.
The Roundtables for MTP and This Week are weak.
And John McCain?! seriously is that the best you can do, Gregory? Is it that no one wants to come on your show anymore?
Lots of interesting stuff on BookTV, tho.
Depends on the man to be honest. If he’s hot then the hand will go much further quicker, if he’s not then not long.
I pick Mitch McConnell.
And Thers has it right, speak up man.
There’s no OT in this thread.
And really David Brooks should just come out and say who it was, unless this is another shinny object.
If Brooks didn’t enjoy it he could have excused himself to go to the rest room or make a private phone call then returned and crossed his legs.
He has it exactly right. Brooks is protecting someone who uses their position of power to sexually abuse those who need to curry favor. And he’s right when he says that this isn’t that humorous when you view it that way.
Thank you. Always appreciate your “sneak peeks”
Uighers up on CSPAN
I ventured over and read that. Then my eyes started to glaze over. Of course, the complexity is the reason they get away with it. I’ve bookmarked it to read and absorb when I’m more awake.
My reaction (which I admit is shameful) is probably the same as the majority of Americans. We just don’t get how badly we’re being screwed. We know it’s happening, but we don’t take the time to understand the details.
A talking head…sounds like phone sex.
What Marion said at 17.
Brooks is being coy, why? Who is he teasing?
Gross, and not just nanoseconds but a sharp look at the same time, man or woman, man or woman.
Honestly, why did he write the thing at all? What was his point?
For we ladies, a brush up against one’s boobs is a bit more difficult to handle but a hand on one’s thigh….nope, there’s no ambiguity there. The hand gets removed and we switch seats.
He didn’t write it. He blurted it out in a discussion. He may regret it.
Didja get enough of our resident troll yesterday? *g*
He was on television and Norah then wondered if he’d been having martini’s at lunch.
Mornin’, Elliott, pups
I know there’s a passage somewhere in the I Ching that says there’s a reason I didn’t go digital with the teebee. I’m surprised I didn’t go all Utah Phillips on the damn thing.
On THIS WEEK, Bob Woodward’s contribution to the discussion of Sotomayor’s confirmation hearings was to report his finding that the Judge actually wanted the job of S.Ct. Justice. That, he said, could transform the Court.
You can’t parody these people.
Oh, he was drunk? That’s great. Giving new meaning to the cocktail weenie circuit?
Cantor must have had his hand on Wallace’s inner thigh throughout that interview.
From an award winning investigative journalist to a Village shill riding around in a chauffeured limo. Woodward is just pitiful.
When I was in H.S. I was a member of the drum & bugle corp’s (all girl) color guard. We would line up side by side in a straight line, eyes forward. The instructor would walk behind us and straighten our bodies by placing his hands over our breasts to shift us. We were all so embarassed by his ‘accidental’ touching that no one said anything for months. Then, finally, one of us mentioned it and we all were astonished to realize that he was doing this routinely. This was a different time. To my knowledge, no one reported it to their parents or anyone else. Of course, this man eventually got arrested for trying to get a neighborhood child into his home but he got away with it for years.
George Will: We did stimulus (Bush – 2008) and unemployment went up; we did second stimulus in March and unemployment went up more. So that proves stimulus makes things worse.
Cokie Roberts something even more stupid. But Woodward rescues this by saying stimulus doesn’t change any fundamentals of the economy, ignoring 40 years of economic learning. The Great Ignorance Meets the Great Disingenuousness.
Cokie says they’re no political will for more stimulus, because George Will opposes it. Case closed.
Now Will is lecturing the others that the only thing the stimulus has done is allow states not to lay off union workers.
Bob Woodward making the argument that America cannot afford to cover everyone with health insurance. He has apparently never traveled outside the United States.
This panel must be the most uninformed group since the Republican convention.
Afterall what amerika needs to do is make the vultures richer.
Has anyone here benefited from the stimulus money? My niece got a teaching job after the principal called to say they ‘found’ money that can be used to hire another teacher. I have no idea if this was a result of stimulus money or not…but maybe.
Anyone else?
FL used the bulk of the money they got to balance the state budget. I’ve heard of some programs that got some money but not many and I see no evidence of anything in Pinellas County.
Friends nephew & mate got hired back to teach next year after having received pink slips.
That is the American Way
He gave me a headache.
Teh stoopid it burnzzz yez it does
Dude certainly knows how to hijack a thread, even with the mods reviewing every comment he makes.
I’m with John Cole. Watching these shows is idiotic and a waste of time.
