So for DeMint Al Franken is a senator by virtue of seizing power in a violent and bloodthirsty coup d’etat.

Zelaya is the democratically elected president of Honduras, ousted by a military coup. Thus, according to DeMint, “free and democratic” means “military dictatorship”, “democratic institutions that guarantee freedom” mean right wing generalissimo declaring marshal law, and “illegitimate President” means someone who actually won an election. Oceania has always been at war with Eurasia.
