About Firedoglake
Something is different here today, I just cant quite put my finger on it . . . just kidding looking good FDL!
Morning all, Nice new look. Does faux news have a maximum IQ requirement for its employees.
Only double digits need apply! *g*
No children, there is no such thing as a shadow government.
What is the difference between what Brian Kilmeade said and Hitler’s rant?
new format- likey!
I love the new look!
Houston we have a problem (at FDL).
Here’s the change we can believe in bit:
Hitler had financial backing of industrialists poised to make fortunes from the German rearmamemt. Hitler’s race baiting served as a useful mechanism for terrorizing the German populace, thereby eliminating any opposition to the industrialists’ war aims.
Kilmeade is just an inmature punk.
I guess I have to open FDL in Windoze, ‘cuz all I see is slop. It’s a major mess from the point of view of the Mac OS platform (and firefox 3.x).
Did you clear your browser’s cache?
Mac OS here, Safari and FF – a simple browser cache clearing fixed everything.
I had some problems when I first loaded it in Firefox 2.0 on a Mac 10.3.9. The I tried Safari and it was fine. Now it’s fine in Firefox.
Anent 11 & 12: I haven’t tried those things. Thanks for the suggestions. However I just reloaded the page and the new style people here are remarking upon emerged. It needs a bit of tweaking where objects are flush against each other rather than having small margins (or a bit of padding) around them. But overall, a more elegant look. Nice goin’!
China and India are focused on rapid industrial expansion and don’t want to be hindered by petty environmental concerns.
Problem is, the token reductions by Europe and the US to reduce emissions will be overwhelmed by what happens in India and China.
The key to planet survival is to get India and China to understand the consequences of rapid growth based on fossil fuel consumption.
Mine looks great. MAC 10.5.7
FF 3.0.11
Well, if the end result of emissions is that lots of people will die and they have more damn people than they know what to do with why would they care?
Good point. That is a problem.
Yep, cache emptying does the trick. Safari 10.4.11
I usually don’t listen to Bill Press as I find him way to cheeky for my taste but I flipped over there this morning and heard an interview with Donna Edwards. She stated she was a “single payer” person but would insist on a strong public option ala Medicare for all. Has she specifically stated why she won’t take the Whip pledge? Seems rather incongruous of her given what she said today.
Oh, horrors! Change! They’ve changed the look of the Lake.
Me likey.
Mornin’, BT, pups.
Just got back from unscheduled trip to vet with Gigi. Her feeding tube came out sometime during the night. Peeee Uuuu. Sometimes they’re worse than kids. I just know the vet’s gonna tell me to feed her more.
The thing is, the draft language submitted by the western parties hardly sets an example. Moreover we know president Obama is committed to continued reliance on unclean coal and the destructive mining practices begun in earnest under his predecessor that in itself has to have a negative impact on ecosystems affecting warming.
Kilmeade mentions people marrying other species? WTF is he talking about? Why a duck?
Kilmeade has the financial backing of Rupert Murdoch.
The G-8 pledges to do something about global warming. OK. Like the G8 has ever done anything but make broad meaningless statements. My yard guy is smarter than these fools.
And hey guys, next time you completely rewrite the css stylesheet, you should give it a new name so it would be forced to reload, so we wouldn’t be stuck with the invalid style definitions in the browser cache.
I have had NO trouble whatsoever in FF3 on a Mac this morning! New look is great!!
On EDIT: I have FF set to empty cache on quit, so maybe that’s why it has worked fine for me.
A recipe for disaster. The tragedy is that although the US currently is and will continue to be the primary contributor to planet degradation, the initial ecosystem impacts are felt elsewhere. Although changes to the flora and fauna are imperceptible in Oklahoma, they are already dramatic elsewhere.
Kilmeade: “We marry other species.”
Wow, what a bonehead.
True, and the Third Reich principals are certainly Murdoch’s mentors.
Re: Mission Accomplished, part II – Afghanistan. Obama did claim during the campaign that he would enlarge the theater there. Who were his financial backers who pushed this line? What corporations are garnering windfall profits from the escalation there?
Afghanistan is a non-domino Vietnam.
I will only allow manual flushing of cache which I didn’t think to try before others thought of it. But I think there’s an option checked that forces new content when detected on reload. I do allow flushing of cookies on quits.
The PATC president had a column in their latest newsletter about the Great Eastern Desert, laying out a case of such an eventuality as a result of too few predators and too little diversity owing to disturbances of the man-made sort. The example was deer over-population.
However, it comes down to the remarkable capacity of humans to populate mother earth.
No trouble here, either….Vista of all things ;)) Good Morning All
That may be true, occasionally. But I married at a young age before any sense set in.
Indeed. Quantity wins out over quality.
Well, I think the prospect of same sex marriage must have thrown him for a loop. The next thing you know, Swedes would be marrying Finns. Think of the problems children would face.
Keep your hands tightly on your wallets, for anytime the Masters of The Universe gather together in some swank retreat as they are now in Sun Valley, Idaho you can rest assured it’s not for the purpose of promoting single payer healthcare.
No, it’s typically gatherings like these where they exchange the next great ideas for fleecing you and I, the unsuspecting public, as some CNBC anchor waits breathlessly outside the proceedings just in case one of the MOTU decides to come down from on high and share some pearl of wisdom gleaned from the meetings held between these brilliant people.
Be afraid, very afraid.
Who’s manning the barricades around the Sun Valley compound? Xe?
Kilmeade seems to think same sex marriage is marrying other species so in his mind gays are non human. Sheesh.
I wonder what Kilmeade would say about very insular sects who have higher rates of certain physical and mental birth defects due to the parents being too closely related carrying the same genes. Monarchy family lines had some of the same problems. He’s probably never heard of this.
Closer to home are the DuPont family in Delaware, and the Amish sect in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and elsewhere. Both groups have histories of high rates of congenital abnormalities because of close intermarrying.
Yes.
Thinking about close intermarrying makes me wonder about Kilmeade’s family line among many other Fox talking heads & their viewers.
I thought my browser had been hijacked by Kim for a minute there. Looks real fine in here now, quite fetching.
Not quite the same. Deformities resulting from inbreeding are typically physical in nature. Fox talkiing heads and their viewers are mental defectives.
Yes. I’m pretty sure it’s around 51, give or take a point.
I was being snarky which isn’t always obvious even when I’m talking so someone face to face. I’m afraid it’s my scandinavian genes at work.
.
Guess who’s going to prison? HINT: It’s a horny “Christian” Senator.
.
.
At work, I prefer Balkan genes. They’re looser in the crotch.
.
Gracious, a person refreshes last night’s screen and gets terrified for a moment!
[Whew] I see it’s still good ol’ FDL —and I really like the look, to boot. Nice job!
