I’d been wondering why the liberals are so passionate about this Health Care thing. It couldn’t be because they actually care about sick, poor people. If they did, they would visit hospitals, and give ten percent of their gross salaries to Compassion International and World Vision, like us stupid church go-ers do. Biden gave $ 62 to charity last year.
No, there’s gotta be a catch. I guess this question was sitting in my brain and during my sleep, my brain was working on it, because when I suddenly awoke at 3 a.m. I had the answer.
Euthanasia!
Social Security and Medicare are broke. Baby boomers, like me, are getting old and will soon be asking for it. Socialized medicine makes people die. You stand in a long, long line with a breast lump, clogged artery, or sharp pencil stuck in your eye, and someone like the DMV person, who can’t speak English, has chewing gum, an attitiude, really long fake nails that curl up at the end, and is talking on a cell phone, enjoying their power trip moment, is finally face to face with you. They mumble something incoherent about paperwork. You die. One less person in line for Social Security and Medicare!
Obama legally kills babies and now he can legally kill Grandmas!
And then she goes all Godwin’s.

About Firedoglake
I blame Lorne Michaels.
Ican’t watch it – but I gather this is the Victoria Jackson from SNL?
But, I don’t get the last comment “go all Godwin’s?”
Is it because I haven’t read Ayn Rand? Oh, that was Galt.
I thought euthanasia as a student exchange program.
How many people do we have to subtract from Tea Party attendees for lefties who went to laugh at the crazy loons?
Ok, I knew I’d regret it, but ….I went to the link and read…the last line, referring to someone who obviously is smarter than she is, “ignorance is bliss,” after a page spouting as many of the lies about Obama and health care as she could squeeze in…
And can somebody tell me why people like her are still ranting about a Fairness Doctrine that’s been dead since, like, Reagan?
(and of course, never had anything to do with “censorship,”, fair or unfair).
Help – I may have to turn on American’s Funniest Videos to wash that hate out of my brain.
Oookay. I thought she was at least somewhat okay for taking the role as the ditzy bookshop owner in Kamen Rider Dragon Knight (US version). I guess the idiocy wasn’t just an act. *facepalms*
Anyway, i had my own little rant about the healthcare industry here, and why the public option can’t get here fast enough.
Wait a minute, dammit. I’m a grannie! Ergo, I am an endangered species. Ergo, I qualify for government protection from the, ummm, government. Yeah! That’s it!
MY WORD !!! Will she be a guest host on Beck or Hanratty this week as the headliner?? I’m sure Murdoch has already made her an offer she can’t refuse for a ‘news special’…..
Can’t let this level of lunacy go to waste !!!
She dated an acquaintance of mine back in college. She was at the party where I saw SNL for the first time.
All the tumbling on the gymnastics team may have scrambled something.
I’d be willing to bet that most churchgoers don’t give 10 percent of their income to charity, although they may give it to their churches, where it’s used for everything including whatever charities those churches support. (If they did give that much to charity, a lot of food banks and homeless shelters would be in much better shape.)
Surgeon General Warning: Sustained Head Stands in the vain attempt to get laughs will result in irreversible brain damage !
Back in her SNL days I thought she was a talented comedienne ACTING like a stereotypical dumb blond. Show’s over, Victoria, time to go out of character.
I suppose the fact that SNL gave us Senator Al Franken compensates for conservative train wrecks like Dennis Miller and Victoria Jackson.
5% of Americans tithe 10%.
mebbe,her brain is ABBY NORMAL
That must be it, she’s gone mad with Senator Franken Envy…
most around here..are totally uncharitable,but very preachy…………yuck
I hear, though, that Bland Lincoln has started to see the light re Public Option. Maybe there’s hope yet.
Reverend Lovejoy: “Remember, that’s ten percent off the TOP, people… Please don’t make us do an audit.”
Ah, yes, a common mistake: That’s Frankenstein, this is Frankensenator.
Also Franken Derangement Syndrome.
Nah, she was spouting kwazy kwistian konservative nonsense before he threw his hat in the ring.
lol
Raises a question for future Tea Parties: Do you tithe?
applauds
i like it
FDS?
To be fair to Dennis Miller, he’s a self-proclaimed libertarian. Though in practice, his views on foreign policy tend more towards neo-fascism. Apparently 9/11 made him go all “Kill all the scary brown people.”
De nada, de nada… I’m here all week, don’t miss the eggrolls…
i been away from the tubes all day. anything interesting happen today?
Frightened ninnies will be (have already been?) the downfall of the US.
He’s definitely on the more conservative side of the libertarian movement.
Okay, Vicky, time for your Haldol.
another good on camera public question
somebody NEEDS TO SETUP a mike at the capital steps and vidEo congresscritters with one question
ARE YOU WILLING TO GIVE UP YOUR GOV PAID HEALTHCARE?
make a commercial and run it
EVERYWHERE
“Take The Pledge!”
Oh, without question, though he’s far less disgusting than Victoria Jackson, and the stupid, ugly Baldwin brother who went all wingnut for jesus after 9/11.

Gotta take a shower after that link. You wouldn’t believe how quickly I can click channel change when those ads are on TV. They activate my yuck reflex.
hey, did you ever get a hold of malcolm re making the video on your research? he said he tried to email you but the email bounced back to him?
I thought it would be lower than that. I think Mormons are the best givers because the church actually knows how much you make in most cases and there is a lot or pressure to anti-up. Most church goers are less than one percenters according to an article from our church newletter a couple of years ago. Most of that money goes for church upkeep; utilities, grounds, maintenance, etc. and of course salaries. It is amazing how little actually goes to help parishioners and missions.
i was wondering why i didnt hear from him
i am NOT surprised
he let you know on your oxdown diary about it. try calling him. his number’s on his website.
Mormons are still a small % of Americans, although you’d never know it by some of the economic power they have in the western states.
I gave up on the Catholic church over half a century ago, but fell to new depths of disgust when they couldn’t even send anyone to visit my senile father (at the family’s request) who had attended the church for probably 50 years, and that didn’t even cost them any money.
According to TDS, Obama cooks Pak food and reads Urdu poetry.
How do ya fund our public option?
“House Dems look at surtax on the wealthy”
Yay!
“>Link.
Xenu? Lisa, are you saying Victoria Jackson is a Scientologist, or just as crazy as a Scientologist?
No, not Any Rand. Her reference was to Godwin’s Law.
Let wikipedia explain it to you. It’s when people start making Hitler and Nazi analogies.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law
you can sign up for your socialized health care at the booth located on the nearest ice floe
it’s mandatory, btw
and bring a lunch
(wink)

Crazy as..she is a conservative christian comic. Very niche market
Late Night Jabberwocky Smackdown
As Dennis Miller’s sociopath sidekick on a Fox Comedy Hate Fest, Victoria Jackson should be duking it out with Paul Schaffer & Andy Richter.
She made more sense on SNL reciting fractured verse in a handstand.
“I’m not a vacuous bimbo. I just play one on TV.”
Relax guys, she’s no Gracie Allen and Dennis is no George Burns.
More likely an actuary explained to her how private insurance companies will be able to make even more profits dumping all risky patients from their coverage by tightening underwriting and/or trimming coverage. They may insure fewer patients, but if the profit margin is greater per patient then the trade off is not terrible.
With a public option, private health insurance companies will be able to cherry pick who they want to insure and to what extent. The public option plan will be compelled to take those patients whose health profiles pose higher risks and thus higher expense. If the public health plan has too many unhealthy patients enrolled, then eventually it may become unaffordable while the private insurance plans prosper.
The public option plan is vastly inferior to a universal single payer plan. The great danger is that the joint conferees will draft a public option plan that ensures its demise over time. In fact, I’m cynical enough to bet that that is exactly what will happen.
A libertarian is a Republican that smokes dope.
Old people are already on government-run Medicare, which means Obama could murder them without going to the trouble of creating a whole new health care system, no?
Got some news for ya: Just for clarity’s sake, a lot, and I mean a lot of food panrtries operate out of churches. I’m sort of an expert on this, as I’ve worked in the food banking “business” (it wasn’t intende to be that way) for over 20 years now.
If the above isn’t a classic case of projection, I don’t know what is! This may be how Victoria Jackson would behave if she had a job doing patient intake for the injured. It certainly fits the stereotype that Republicans like to push about any bureaucratic service for the vulnerable. Lifted straight from the “welfare queen” meme.
Victoria Jackson sounds bitter and fearful about facing aging’s honesty.
I don’t know if Miss Victoria gets the LA Times or not, but I’m thinking this story got her in a tizzie:

My rebuttal is over at dkos…
