Good.
Joe Biden to John Boehner: That stimulus spending you’re looking for is right under your nose, dude.
Biden’s office has announced that he’s traveling to Cincinnati tomorrow to highlight stimulus spending. But here’s what it doesn’t say in the Veep’s press release: It turns out Biden’s stimulus event is taking place right next door to the district of Boehner, who has proclaimed that the stimulus has flopped in his state.
That doesn’t appear to be a coincidence.
Boehner has been one of the leading critics of the stimulus package, most recently claiming that no stimulus contracts had been let in his home state of Ohio, though some stim cash seems to have landed right in Boehner’s district.
Biden is going tomorrow to Cincinnati, right next door to Boehner’s district, to hold an event at a formerly abandoned factory that’s being developed with stimulus money, where he’ll highlight other recovery act cash being spent in the state.
Maybe the Veep reads FDL.

I wonder if that spray on tanning stuff causes drain bamage?
The forceps-shaped depressions in Boehners noggin may offer another clue.
Maybe the Veep reads FDL.
Betcha $10 his staffers do.
*waving to Biden staffers*
Are ya payin’ attention? Takin’ notes?
It must. He probably shouldn’t be huffing it.
Could be he is just flat out lying.
Anyone who’s *anyone* reads FDL. ;-)

Take it to their backyards and expose their lying asses, Joe.
The sooner, the better ;-))
I hope Biden enjoys the hell out of himself while he cleans Boehner’s phony tanned clock.
That would be my guess, because lying comes as easy to these people as breathing.
There is no way a member of the House (with a staff, no less) wouldn’t know how much stimulus spending has happened in his state, if he had the slighted actual interest in knowing.
We (in our mother’s basements with orange-stained fingers) know, for cripes sake, armed not with staff, but the google.
No, lying plays well to his base, since they never care to be bothered with facts.
You need to look no further than the reported bump in approval Palin supposedly got by quitting!
The stupid of the GOP base never ceases to amaze me.
Tried to find my Boehner and the economy Oxdown posts from earlier in the year but cannot get them to pop up in a search. They would be good links to this post.

Good! It shouldn’t be a coincidence. This is what ya need to do to counter/expose the lying liars in the Repub party and the stupid media:
Stimulus slow to take hold
Sometimes I’m really pleased with this Administration. Of course, others, not so much (already emailed the WH about the stupid Mike Taylor appointment in the works). But when they do it right, I’m pleased.
I’m encouraged. Joe Biden, the Democrats Dan Quayle.
Since he’s a Republic, it’s best to assume that he is lying until proven otherwise.
ha! was just thinking of you, recalling you said you lived near Boehner’s district – are you close enough to attend the event ?
I have to take exception to that. Biden is by no means stupid.
You’re kidding, right?
Dear Mr. Credit Cards,
Please read your script and don’t ad lib. The MSM and Wall Street took your remark about the economy and made you eat it.
Contrary to popular mythology, “The Media” is not friendly to Democrats. As much as you would love for them to be, they are not your friends.

His mouth just isn’t connected to his brain half the time.
Of course, that should read “slightest”.
I was going to say what Badwater@16 beat me to. Since Obama’s election, it has become increasingly obvious that the GOP viewpoint on anything is not simply wrong, but is actually deranged. That would be one thing if it was simply partisan politics in action, but it seems to be deliberate and willful derangement. Remember all the accusations levelled by the GOP at “liberals” during Bush’s terms? In an incredibly Orwellian manner (and one I would not have believed without seeing it) they have managed to make a full 180 degree turn without losing momentum. For a party to go from “I love my country, it’s the government I don’t trust” to “love the government or you’re a traitor” and then to “the government is the traitor” in only 10 years, is just mind-boggling. And they did it without missing a beat. These guys are Orwellian artistes. It’s a shame that these are signposts on the road to dictatorship. but apparently that’s what the people want.
I think if I were a Congressperson, I would be careful to know — and be SEEN to know — what is going on in my district, including stimulus spending projects. Boehner just comes off as plain stupid and completely out of touch with his constituents when he says stuff like this.
Dear Biden staffers,
Please read this article from a local Ohio paper about all the road signs going up on roads undergoing stimulus-funded repair.
Stimulus road signs rile up some
“Some” being idiots who live to bitch.
But in this case they’re bitching because signs cost money—OMG, who knew? Things cost money?? Dang, alert the media.

Never-fucking-mind that people, you know… workers, had to make those signs. And got paid. And spent the money. You know…. economic recory kinda shit. Idiots indeed.

oh hai !
I get the impression Boehner knows where to find the finest pro shops in Kentucky
Somewhat tongue in cheek. I am tired of his foot in mouth disease.
Ask Emanuel, Biden or Obama a policy question and you get four answers. This Administration, imo, is all over the map on foreign and domestic policies, whether from lack of message, message discipline or intentionally to keep us guessing.
I hate to have to say it, but Boehner almost has a point.
When you check the recovery spending figures, there is still a sh*tl**d of authorized spending that’s hung up behind some sort of craptastic bureaucratic dam. The NSF has released just the barest trickle of what they’ve been handed. Similarly for ARPA-E, the Department of Energy’s version of ARPA. You know, the thing that brought us the intertubes we’re making such good use of now?
It really is time for me to take a vacation — I’m defending John Boehner, for crying out loud!
I said it in an earlier post on another blog page:
In Connecticut, the local paper reported that the State had issued contracts for road re-paving as a part of the expenditure of stimulus funds.
They sort of neglected to quote out the asphalt-milling projects at the same time. The milling needs to take place before the paving.
So the money is sitting un-spent, the milling contracts are being RFQ’d and the folks that would do the work are still unemployed.
This isn’t unusual for my State. Stupid is as stupid does. It wouldn’t surprise me if similar situations exist in Ohio and other places. Boehner could try to make that Obama’s fault, but he doesn’t do the contract processing work.
