You know there’s some McCain campaign staffer who needs a very stiff drink right now. I imagine he wants to tell a story like this: It’s 2008, during the cram sessions. Palin asks the staffer, “Will there be something like Cheney has now? To basically do anything and get away with it?” The staffer thinks she’s joking and says, “Oh yeah! We’ve got a whole legal department working on that!”

I can’t help but think that she’s got a computer that uses random talking point phrases tacked together to write her speeches. I just find it almost impossible to listen to her blather.

Anyway re: her resignation, I have to believe that there’s something there that was fixin’ to come out.

I can’t imagine staying through what she’s been through after going through the relatively nasty election that she won to get the governorship and her VP process and the many months following that just to up & quit at this point.

Her skin is a LITTLE thin, but its plenty tough enough to handle the heat she’s getting now. The nonsense about being a “lame duck” is just that. The only possible reason for her to be a lame duck is that she doesn’t think she can win re-election and won’t try.

I can’t put any credence into her rationalizing, and therefore I call B.S. on it. There’s something fecal out there that she thinks is about to hit the oscillator.
