Newspapers do surveys of who reads what part of the paper how often if the cross words is missing they get the most complaints the sports page I think is next.

I recall the range wars that used to break out when the WaHo would trim down its comics section [actually a damn good 4 page comics secttion] to drop items like Mary Worth or Judge Parker. The howling letters would continue for weeks.

Adie, as a fellow “old biddy” I appreciate your humor. One of the blessings of the Lake is the variety of voices that have come to feel like old friends (even though I don’t comment much, I read A LOT).

Good luck with the move. Major life event, fer sure.

So true. I’ll recover. It should be relatively an easy move. It’s just that we’re already exhausted, so no reserves left to move the stuff we’ve been prepping for the past month. Looks funny. We really should take a pic or 2. The whole house has piles and piles of liquor boxes. Seems like hundreds, heh. But that’s the perfect size to handle for an old biddy and old coot.

Tomorrow the REAL movers come to take over from our shaky hands.

Talked at length with realtor yestidie & signed all the papers so she can do her thing. She’s supposed to be a good one. High volume, quick results, but solid and honest.

We’ve been trying for weeks to impress on her the value of selling the place largely on the merits of a nice comfortable house on what basically stands as a beautiful and teeming nature preserve. Yesterday she finally “got it”, thanks to a couple of hummingbirds dueling at the window inches from her nose, plus an officially recognized baseline of species details, drawn up by the Western Reserve Land Conservancy with a bit of help from us
(they’re good on the trees, we’re the birdie people).
Icing on the cake: local Ranger dashing over earlier this spring to document the presence of a rare/endangered Golden-winged Warbler singing his little heart out in our yard for a whole morning straight.
Told her the birds and beasties and Anderson windows WILL sell this place, and fast. She now believes us. It does no good to dwell on the negatives. Not right now.

Thanks to you, eCAHN, for your savvy voice around here. Re my rant yestidie: Yes, the constancy of the sniping at Barack, I think, is unwarranted and not terribly useful (as opposed to specific differences spelled out and documented - those I can handle just fine). But maybe we can agree to disagree on that, and just let it go. I’m not a warlike soul, just have a hair trigger at times. I’m how I am. You’re how you are. We will find a way to get along. We must.

One last bit of scattershot and then I promise to go “poof”

2 of undoubtedly countless palinesque patterings making their way around the toobs:

From someone on NBC News last night:

“watching Palin is something like watching a moose on roller skates: It’s not very enlightening, but it is always riveting.”

Palin explanation recently from, David Carmen of Carmen group, “she’s a Platonic image of a candidate, best imagined rather than experienced.”

ouch. i hope the rumors of malfeasance are true. shame on me.

Last bit of fauxnews: Did anyone else receive a “personal reply” from the BLM after signing one of the petitions begging the august institution NOT to harm the wild horses? Situation makes me sick. I can’t bear to open their so-called reply to see how they word their lame excuses. It would render me so angry as to be useless all day on a day I can’t afford to be.

Must. go.

As Dragon says, Peace to all living things.

Hi Gang. Our last morn with the toobz for awhile. Gack! Yanking all cords, losing our lil’ box from thymewannah and heading slightly west, where our sonny the wizard will hook us up again.

1 1/2 days without the Lake! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaambulance!?!
