Bill Kristol is what he appears to be, a well-paid dolt of epic proportions. I’m sure this audience has only just figured this out.
For psychological and sociological reasons too deep for me to grasp, a good chunk of elite America hates Sarah Palin and what they’ve decided she stands for.
Yet the Washington Post gives you, Bill son of Irving, a paycheck, and major news operations also pay for you and your zero for 6,543 batting stats. You know who "elite America" really hates, Bill? Apparently, itself and all of us.
Here’s a special shout out from Palin’s attorney (when not laughably threatening to sue people) to elite America and it’s love of, oh, I don’t know, logic.
Despite leaving office about two-thirds of the way through her term, Palin "is not a quitter"

About Firedoglake
”I’m thankful the Constitution would allow a bit more authority given to the vice president if that vice president so chose to exert it in working with the Senate and making sure that we are supportive of the president’s policies and making sure too that our president understands what our strengths are.”
I will acknowledge Bill Kristol’s expertise on all things Sarah Palin when he diagrams that sentence.
nothing to see here. move on.
What audience? Bill is an extreme experiment to move public opinion to the Right but the 20%ers don’t read the times or high flautin Elite Neocons.
Newspapers do surveys of who reads what part of the paper how often if the cross words is missing they get the most complaints the sports page I think is next.
I wish i had access to what the surveys said about who reads William the Bloody and why. If William is missing from a run of papers it happens faint ink or was sick or the delivery guy well we don’t forget the main page but we do throw it into puddles and if people can’t read their favorite William the Bloody well if he had any favorites we would get complaints.
Guys like you HAVE TO read for material I hope Jane pays you well but yes how many NeoCons read Bill as a percentage of Newspaper readers ?
I have seen every type of News paper mistake and commited every delivery mistake at some point ( you throw 520 3- 7 pound Sunday papers and lets see how good your aim is or 3 ounce monday papers in a wind storm)
Nope no complaints 3 years for William the bloody, Judy Miller etc not being readable faint ink or soaked in a puddle nor has any delivery driver in all of Mchenery county as far as I know and yes we talk about this stuff:)
Hi mod was sick from my 3 should read if William was sick
I have had a lady wait for me at 3 am in a blizzard to show me exactly where she wanted the paper dropped off to bad snow made the paper slide off her hill I lost her as a customer plus the bush she wanted me to throw to was covered by snow.
She scared me but still some people take the news scary serious and they will complain, still no complaints from any reader not being able to read their favorite Neocon writers.
And Mchenery County might beat Dupage for most Republican I was delivering the Chicago Tribune and a few copies of the NY Times, Financial Time, Investors Business Daily, which to be fair compared to the local paper they even the IBD were Lefty rags:)
The same percentage that voted Obama or are we talking National Health care numbers 70% Bill?
Is that why Rove dissed her the Math?
DuPage is as Republican as Death itself, ThingsComeUndone.
Snark Attaturk? Or do you got a link explaining the numbers because this I have to read. Judy Miller’s batting average that would deserve a day’s worth of posts:)
As his hairline continues to recede, Tom Van Flein will shortly be joining Ed Whelan and the (late yet unlamented) Bill Rehnquist in the Penis Head For Men KKKlub:

Liable law maybe LHP can weigh in on the strength of Sarah’s case? Bwahahaha!
Sarah is not a quitter? Well baring the idea she was forced to quit for legal or personal reasons then yeah she’s a quitter.
Just to put things in perspective I’m still hoping he left for legal or personal reasons!
Sarah quitting leaves so much unsaid and Undone Things should not work out that way for Sarah.
I wanted a hand in her coming Undone:) I feel cheated imagine Nixon leaving before Watergate.
“Despite leaving office about two-thirds of the way through her term, Palin “is not a quitter”
Wow. Just, wow. Welcome to opposite world. Yet another piece of shit who wants to piss on my leg and tell me it’s raining. While I understand an attorrnys job is to advocate for his/her client at some point the truth must play a role.
Good morning all and thanks for the post Attaturk.
Oh, yeah! Just who the fuck is little billy kristol calling elite? You don’t know who they are but you know what they think? Bill, William. Do you read this shit before you hit send?

You have been to illinois but have you been to McHenery county? Day after Skinner lost the state Rep seat the local GOP paper Finally tells us his wife left him.
She caught him with their baby she took the baby left the country her family is rich. But a Barrington Family afraid they can’t trust the system in a case like that?
Cal Skinner was protected by The Prince of Darkness himself…or the local GOP not sure who is more evil.
Still the Rolando Cruz case gave Dupage Nation wide attention.
Nite Folks:)
All us Lefties at the Lake who went to State schools are Elite compared to small school bus kids like William the Bloody and Bush:) Ok serious nite all
For a real treat don’t miss the joe and mika “Leave Sarah Alone Tour” coming to your tv in just 15 minutes. With extra-special guest pat, sarah is secretly brilliant, buchanon.
I’m from DuPage County!
Howdy, neighbor!
Well, I left Villa Park in 1966 n my way to Fort Campbell, KY! My dad was also raised there and was there until 78 or so.
Good morning, pups. It’s Bobo and Herbert today. Bobo has gone “In Search of Dignity,” and tells us that the old dignity code that George Washington once followed has not survived modern life. Every week there are new scandals featuring people who simply do not know how to act. He had to admit that President Obama personifies dignity, however. Mr. Herbert, in “After the War Was Over,” says Robert McNamara realized early on that Vietnam was a lost cause, but he kept that crucial information close to his chest. How did he ever look at himself in a mirror?
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got bagels and cream cheese this morning. The cold drinks are waiting in the fridge for later, and I’m off to get a cup of tea and gear up for the fact that my loooong weekend is over and I’m back to work today. Have a great day.
Joe Galloway on MacNamara,
I love this;
“a good chunk of the elite hate sarah”
notice how they have to qualify their failure by somehow dismissing those that recognize the failure
“a good chunk of the elite” would be correct, also a good chunk of the middle class, a good chunk of the lower class, a good chunk of the educated, a good chunk of the uneducated, a good chunk of democrats, a good chunk of independants, a good chunk of republicans…a good chunk of everyone but the furtherst fringe group hates sarah
and he can’t understand why we might add, talk about being an idiot, he didn’t see just how inept, unprepared, unequipped this women was
the man gets payed by people like koch industries, the cato institute and the carlyle group, you might think they could hire someone with a bigger brain then sarah
The fact that Bill Kristol supports Palin is my only comfort in this whole fiasco. He has NEVER been right about anything.
Bill Kristol is a joke. Speaking of jokes…Mika put up a Gallup poll this morning showing that 38% of the country is conservative, 18% is liberal, and the 42% is unchanged (whatever that means!) and wanted us all to know that this means she can be a liberal and still be smart. Ummmmm, a liberal? Still be smart? Mika is as delusional as Sarah Palin this morning!
we could only pray this time he’s roght momodo, I cannot think of a more beatable candidate then palin
Wow, I never knew Herbert was in Korea!
VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict XVI called Tuesday for a new world financial order guided by ethics, dignity and the search for the common good in the third encyclical of his pontificate.
hah!
May all the war criminals follow Joe’s example this week (dying)…
Stanley Fish wrote a defense of Palin and Sanford, and said their failings were more palatable than the behavior of the pundits. He got raked over the coals, for the most part, in the comments.
Well, he doesn’t seem to be a draft-evading, war-supporting Republican…
As I understood the poll what it was saying was that 38% of Americans said they had become more conservative politically, 18% had become more liberal, and 42% hadn’t changed their political position. (CNN is All Jackson All The Time this morning, hence I saw this. Mika really is a dim bulb, isn’t she?)
LMAO!….

It’s being rumored as fact that Sarah Palin will be appearing on Fox News today to explain why she’s a quitter without actually referring to the day she did quit. See?
Yes, I know, but Mika wanted to let us know here at FDL this morning that this poll is proof that she can be a liberal and still be smart. We made fun of her yesterday morning here on FDL. Mika is reaching this morning to make herself feel better!
I thought that about W.
Twice.
Boy was I wrong.
Well…Not wrong , but wronged nonetheless.
Bill Kristol’s lesson for the day:
War is peace,
Freedom is slavery,
Ignorance is strength,
Quitting is winning!
Her father must be SO proud of her. /snark
Some twit on MJ, about the running of the bulls in Pamplona: “Only 4 people hospitalized. What a let down.” Where the fuck to they find these people?
Oh … it’s not hard; they find Harold Ford Jr. regularly, and he’s about as relevant today as a buggy whip.
(About as insightful, too)
Good luck with that!
And no rubbers!
Actually, here in Amish country, a buggy whip is significantly more relevant than Harold Ford Jr.
Being wrong is being right.
I gladly stand corrected.
Yep. Up is down, sad is happy…
Being wrong is being a Villager.
Is it true that Sarah Palin is joining Fox as the Right’s answer to Oprah?
Bwahahahahaha. Fox going deeply after the 20%ers.
Makes you wonder. Last week Rush Limbaugh announced to his rabid listeners that he had a secret meeting and wished he could share it, but it would have to wait for the appropriate time. Hmmmmmm…and then a few days later Sarah gives a psychotic rant that she’s quitting as Governor! Maybe Rush being the leader of the republic party told her to quit, so she can take his place on his radio show? Hey, could be. Don’t know, but wherever she ends up we lefty bloggers will still be out here! *waving to Sarah* So sue us!
Anyway, Rush was expected back this week from the holiday weekend but wasn’t there. His fill-in yesterday tried to down play it by saying that Rush always takes this week off. Uh ha. Makes you wonder if Rush is behind her quitting and he’s taking time off because he’s embarrassed and wants things to cool down a bit? Again, don’t know but the whole thing is just weird….him not being here this week (not that I care really).
* smooch*
I LUV Joe Galloway!…..imagine…..someone who’s unafraid to outright call a liar a liar. And that artist story is a hoot. :-)
LOL Exactly. It does seem to run in the family, huh?
Hi Gang. Our last morn with the toobz for awhile. Gack! Yanking all cords, losing our lil’ box from thymewannah and heading slightly west, where our sonny the wizard will hook us up again.
1 1/2 days without the Lake! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaambulance!?!
Kristol’s really really real, huh. Egad. He reads like a 5th grader’s book report. blah blah blah.
They breed…..under rocks…….in deep dark places……the result is a pundit product with extremely small hearts and even smaller brains.
Withdrawal’s a bitch.
One last bit of scattershot and then I promise to go “poof”
2 of undoubtedly countless palinesque patterings making their way around the toobs:
From someone on NBC News last night:
“watching Palin is something like watching a moose on roller skates: It’s not very enlightening, but it is always riveting.”
Palin explanation recently from, David Carmen of Carmen group, “she’s a Platonic image of a candidate, best imagined rather than experienced.”
ouch. i hope the rumors of malfeasance are true. shame on me.
Last bit of fauxnews: Did anyone else receive a “personal reply” from the BLM after signing one of the petitions begging the august institution NOT to harm the wild horses? Situation makes me sick. I can’t bear to open their so-called reply to see how they word their lame excuses. It would render me so angry as to be useless all day on a day I can’t afford to be.
Must. go.
As Dragon says, Peace to all living things.
Imagine having someone like that in the Senate.
So true. I’ll recover. It should be relatively an easy move. It’s just that we’re already exhausted, so no reserves left to move the stuff we’ve been prepping for the past month. Looks funny. We really should take a pic or 2. The whole house has piles and piles of liquor boxes. Seems like hundreds, heh. But that’s the perfect size to handle for an old biddy and old coot.
Tomorrow the REAL movers come to take over from our shaky hands.
Talked at length with realtor yestidie & signed all the papers so she can do her thing. She’s supposed to be a good one. High volume, quick results, but solid and honest.
We’ve been trying for weeks to impress on her the value of selling the place largely on the merits of a nice comfortable house on what basically stands as a beautiful and teeming nature preserve. Yesterday she finally “got it”, thanks to a couple of hummingbirds dueling at the window inches from her nose, plus an officially recognized baseline of species details, drawn up by the Western Reserve Land Conservancy with a bit of help from us
(they’re good on the trees, we’re the birdie people).
Icing on the cake: local Ranger dashing over earlier this spring to document the presence of a rare/endangered Golden-winged Warbler singing his little heart out in our yard for a whole morning straight.
Told her the birds and beasties and Anderson windows WILL sell this place, and fast. She now believes us. It does no good to dwell on the negatives. Not right now.
Thanks to you, eCAHN, for your savvy voice around here. Re my rant yestidie: Yes, the constancy of the sniping at Barack, I think, is unwarranted and not terribly useful (as opposed to specific differences spelled out and documented – those I can handle just fine). But maybe we can agree to disagree on that, and just let it go. I’m not a warlike soul, just have a hair trigger at times. I’m how I am. You’re how you are. We will find a way to get along. We must.
P. E. A. C. E.
Adie, as a fellow “old biddy” I appreciate your humor. One of the blessings of the Lake is the variety of voices that have come to feel like old friends (even though I don’t comment much, I read A LOT).
Good luck with the move. Major life event, fer sure.
I recall the range wars that used to break out when the WaHo would trim down its comics section [actually a damn good 4 page comics secttion] to drop items like Mary Worth or Judge Parker. The howling letters would continue for weeks.
How about internet cafes or the public library?
