Funny, I thought Spitzer worked without pajamas – just kept those black socks on.

What me think of Dan White was the apparent impulsiveness of Palin’s resignation; White’s resignation came seemingly out of nowhere as well. I recall the statement he gave when he quit the Board of Supervisors was largely a pity party, like Palin’s speech.

Like Palin, White was a political outsider from a lower-middle class background. In San Francisco, most successful politicians are also successful lawyers or businessmen/women. Many of them have family connections to S.F.s political establishment (Gavin Newsom, DiFi, Angelina Alioto). A few got there by being community organizers, like Harvey Milk and, yes, Willie Brown, who fought for housing integration in the ’60s. Dan White probably fit in with this crowd about as well as Palin would fit in with the Skull and Bones Society.

I’m pretty sure that we will eventually find out that a new (or old) scandal, an indictment or a deal with a prosecutor is behind her quitting. If, on the other hand, she asks for her job back next week, maybe David Letterman ought to invest in some body armor.

So, will GuvGILF look good in an orange jumpsuit too? Just wondering? :-)
