Doo-doo-doo-do. Doo-do. Doo-do he’s crazy.
MS: Well, you know, I think you raise a very important and frightening concern here, and that is the Democrats have spent the last six to eight years building in place an infrastructure to allow them to basically hijack elections at their whim. They started by focusing on targeting secretary of state races around the country. They’ve got a majority of those. And now when you have an ACORN situation flare up, what do you have, the secretary of state going well, there’s no problem here. I don’t understand why everybody’s all upset. Well, yeah, you’re part of a growing process that basically land locks these elections in such a way that they basically walk out of the election with the votes that they need. And the activity by groups like ACORN goes unnoticed. What I’ve started to do is focus our counsel, focus our legal opportunities around the country on exactly those behaviors, and we’re putting in place a strategy now to be competitive, shall we say, when it comes to protecting the rights of voters out there, and the process itself, protecting our candidates so we don’t have more Norm Coleman situations where votes are counted one way in one part of the state, and counted another way in another part, or they have activities by groups like an ACORN, or individuals like George Soros through their funding, to help them augment the taking of these elections.
I can’t quite be sure, but it appears Steele is claiming that a criminal conspiracy involving ACORN, George Soros and key elected state officials — acting in collusion with the Democratic Party — make it impossible for Republicans to win elections.
He’s the perfect leader for today’s GOP.

this is projection. the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections were stolen in Ohio and Florida, where GOP SOS’s played a very prominent role in tilting the voter rolls and the election apparatus to the goopers, and then afterwards doing the same for the vote count.
Yes, I heard about this yesterday at Sen. Udall’s health care town hall in ABQ. The Dittoheads next to me said that ACORN got $500 Billion dollars from Obama. Imagine it. $500 Billion? Well, $500 million, actually. I gave up trying to talk to them at all.
“And what’s the proof that the elections were stolen? Well, the Democrats won, didn’t they? That’s all you need to know.”
Simple projection, a common Rovian trait among Republicans. No Democrat is as artful at stealing elections as Karl Rove and the George Bush Department of InJustice.
Has the Elephant Himself, Limpy Limbaugh, weighed in on this yet?
Because it couldn’t have been the criminal conspiracy involving Karl Rove, Dick Cheney, and the House and Senate Republican caucuses, could it?
I’m beginning to wish that I was affiliated with ACORN. Then I could say that I’m part of a group which scares republicans shitless (for some reason).
Billion? Million? What’s the difference? A “b” and an “m” (heh), and a lot of zeros. To this moran it’s all the same.
I’m starting to see a pattern emerge here. With Palin, Joe the Plumber and Steele, the GOP is definitely positioning itself for 2012. The hot working girl, the everyman white guy, the hep black cat…what could possibly go wrong?
Limpy would be mad if he saw that he didn’t make your list.
Republicans had gerrymandered many precincts. County Election Supervisors – Republican operatives – made sure that poorer areas were given insufficient numbers of voting machines. Roadside vehicle inspections were performed on voting day to intimidate poor people in jalopies.
ACORN, George Soros, ACORN! Boo!
I’m for that. Wonder if there is a chapter near me. My boss would go ballistic.
Huumm..whole strategy coming together here….
1) Steele starts a new meme against Acorn…
2) Michelle Bachmann spews enough about the 2010 census to, in fact, get her congressional district merged into another therefore loosing her seat in congress
3) Michelle Bachmann becomes Steele’s Chief of Staff just in time to get the 2012 election strategy together..
4) GOP ooses another 25 seats in Congress in 2010 and another 3-4 seats in the senate in 2012..
5) Palin looses the 2012 Presidential election by 30 points…
6) Everybody parties like it’s 1890 again !!!
The mind reals…..
“Hot working girl?” Interesting euphemism for “shameless media whore.”
The Mod Squad Hero Action Pack… With Teabags.
Palin’s a hooker!?!?
…and the Democrats in Congress still knuckle under every chance they get.
With Hapless Harry in charge, how else could it be?
To all of you:

Egg-actly. These people truly did not know the difference. So where is this canard coming from? I guess just made up whole cloth like everything else they are using.
It is powerful though. Yesterday, the 20%ers were out in force. Poor Tom Udall, he had his hands full. Finally, he quit even trying to provide actual information in response. He just let them spew, then went on to the next spew. “Answer, Answer!!” They shouted.
Crazy.
Actually, Bachmann’s district is at some risk in a pending redistricting. Or maybe you already knew that. If not, great guess!
Naw, volunteer.

Oh, absolutely! Thought you were looking for a quick connect.
Okey dokey. Just tried to access ACORN’s home page several times and got the deadly 503 service unavailable message. The sky is falling, the sky is falling!!! The Republicans are hacking the universe!!! Oh, oh, oh, oh.
Thanks for the link. Don’t have the time to organize for them but can do some grunt stuff. Already in discussion of organizing hotel workers on the beach for the IWW. This is liable to be a real time eater.
They confirm their own actions every time they accuse others of that which they are guilty themselves.
Somewhere, Leo Strauss, is smiling.
Strauss needs to be taught, in order for common citizens to recognize the tactics of Strauss when they are used against the population.
Rove coached Dubya. Rove coaches Steele. Rove = Strauss.
Seriously, where IS the GOP going to get a candidate for 2012? I don’t think they can afford to run another old white guy, not after Obama. And the current crop all look so…small in comparison. If the GOP does nominate a nutjob (Palin, Jindal, Huckabee), my guess is that their donors will give just enough to run the campaign, but guarantee a loss. They could live with Obama for 4 more years.
If I was a Repub strategist, I’d be giving Lynn Swann a call very soon.
Link itself is accessible. All links on that page result in error message. Dammit, where’s that tin hat o’mine when I need it?!
Today’s GOP: All Dog Whistle, All The Time.
What about John Bush?
I love the Steele – he brings tha’ Flavah to th’ Party.REPRESENT.
I guess thiss is why Bush appointed USAs declined to prosecute ACORN. The stupid hurts.

any R that would run in 2012 would do so at the sacrifice of his/her political career. This is obviously a situation calling for the unique talents of Alan Keyes…..
Well, as long as some of the legislation that has passed provides some relief and can keep the country moving, or at least not sliding backwards, I guess there is hope. Honestly, the teabaggers that descended on the Udall event were in such numbers that Tom could hardly find a friendly face to get anything honest into the mix.
We need to really keep the pressure on to get some kind of public option (even meager as it may be) into the health care bill, because the pressure that these representatives feel from the 20% plus the insurance companies that fund campaigns is a hard wall to be against.
I’m telling you, what happened yesterday was outrageous. Fortunately, Tom Udall is a solid progressive, but I know he is not immune to the tactics on the other side.
I had an ACORN situation flare up last year and it took nearly a whole tube of Preparation H to take care of it.
It will be Willard. Count on it.
Please, Mr. Steele, spend all the money you have on this issue.
I can understand why the rethugs wanted to take the checkbook from this idiot.
Excellent. A rich white guy. And a Mormon to boot. I don’t suppose religion will be an issue during that campaign.
I did NOT know that her district was up for re-alignment but speculation over the last few days about her new rant on the census that her district would in fact cease to exist if she got enough of the current folks in that district to actually not respond to the census questions!!
Either way, her district going away would be a hoot !!
One really has to work at it to get the site to load. I had many problems with it too. The link at comment 23 works.
The fundies will hold their nose, they’ll be so desperate to rid themselves of the closet Muslim/Marxist/pro-abortionist.
now. About Mr. Steele. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:
Assssssssssssssss–hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooole
AND THE KILLIN’ GOEZ ON AND ON AND…
Citizen Blue Texan and the Firepup Freedom Fighters:
It is imperative that Obama mobilize the troops to ram through all appointments to the federal courts includin’ the SCOTUS immediately…I don’t care how many other legislative items are on the agenda ‘cuz unless we purge the court system of the crypto-Nazi Federalist Society stooges there won’t be another federal office filled by election, they’ll all be done in the courts.
The coup of November 1980 was consolidated in the 1990’s and we’re lookin’ at the American version of the last days of Weimar.
KEEP THE FAITH AND PASS THE AMMUNITION, NOT ALL FASCISTS CALL THEMSELVES REPUBLICANS!!
I’d like to see Soros sue his ass off for this. That’s a court case I’d like to watch unfold.
Gary Sinise has great potential. More than Fred Thompson or the guy from Loveboat and at least as much star power as Sonny Bono had at the time.
Meanwhile, JEB, and his son George P Bush are strategizing the Bush comeback.
Many voters will be stupid enough to vote for either of them.
Unless we can get the Katherine Harris’s and the Blackwell’s out of the State Secretary positions, we will obviously have more problems in tight races.
Plunger is right. It looks like Rove is teaching Steele some of his rhetorical tricks like Projection.
After the political assassination of progressive Senator Paul Wellstone (D – Minn) in 2002, the door was open for the Republican criminal regime to seize control of the US Senate. And so it was done, with electronically rigged election thefts in Georgia and Minnesota. So Norm Coleman never was an honestly-elected representative of the citizens of Minnesota.
Actually, just do a search on Chuck Hagel in Nebraska and you can learn about how this Republican stole his Senate seat electronically – back in 1996 or 1997. His company’s machines “counted the votes.” Republicans electronically stole elections in 2000, 2002 and 2004.
We need to return to 100% hand-counted paper ballots in all of our elections. We need to have observers that can watch the ballot/vote counting to ensure honesty. Now the recently stolen election in Iran featured some forty million votes “counted” in about three hours, with no scanners or any other aid. However, only the regime’s power structure “counted” the votes. When tyrants “count the votes,” tyrants will.
The biggest electoral fraudsters are the right-wing groups out trying to pass initiatives and referenda on taxes, “sanctity of heterosexual marriage”, English First, and anti-immigrant/anti-minority issues. Most States are fairly liberal when it comes to allowing “improper” unregistered names on petitions. But even allowing up to 20% of the signatures on a petition to be duplicates, out-of-county, unregistered, and simply created “fraudulent” voters, audits show that Republican financed groups often have 30%-50% of the signatures that are illegal.
And yet the Repugs freak about a handful of self-reported and self-”flagged” registration forms that never even were finalized? That had names so bogus that no one would think they were legal, or would have been impossible to successfully pass inspection (i.e. someone who registered at the same address 20 times would have been denied long before they ever were able to actually sign in at the precinct).
Just who was it that attempted to convince the Minnesota Supreme Court that an absentee vote made by some guys girlfriend who had illegally sent in registration materials signing his name was a “legal vote”? It wasn’t Franken, BTW. Then it was discovered that this guy had actually voted in person. Not only did Coleman’s Repug lawyers try to pull a fraud over the court, but they attempted to double-up on it.
