Joe Lieberman will add this to every bill to go out of the Senate and Harry Reid will help him, because he doesn’t want Lieberman to force a big showdown where all the Democrats in the Senate are forced to oppose the President in order to oppose the bill.

Supplemental: Why Must Progressive Members of Congress Grovel For the Blue Dogs? |
| By: Jane Hamsher Tuesday June 9, 2009 9:30 am |
Last night we heard that the Graham-Lieberman detainee photo suppression amendment was pulled out of the supplemental. The situation is still in flux, but the bottom line is that it really sucks that progressive members of Congress are being forced by Rahm to vote against their principles in order to give the Blue Dogs political cover.
The supplemental appropriations bill (which I thought we were not going to have any more
“Third Way” and Nine GOP Senators Say Big Insurance/Pharma Who Fund Their Campaigns Shouldn’t Face Public Plan Competition |
| By: Scarecrow Tuesday June 9, 2009 8:30 am |
The Third Way, a group of Congressional centrists, is proposing a “hybrid” health care “reform” that effectively guts the public plan option. | By: Lisa Derrick Tuesday June 9, 2009 1:30 am |
When Sarah Palin dropped the puck at hockey games during the the 2008 campaign, the home teams lost. This weekend Rudy Guiliano invited her to a Yankee’s game. They lost. So what the fudge were the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee thinking when they invited Kiss of Fail Palin to deliver the keynote address at their annual fundraising dinner?
