RE: “…how foolish it would be to squander it over a handful of Israeli apartment houses.”

*** TELL OBAMA “FREEZE MEANS FREEZE” ***

FROM J STREET: Following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s rejection of a full settlement freeze, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said…that President Obama “wants to see a stop to settlements - not some settlements, not outposts, not natural-growth exceptions.”

This is exactly the sort of leadership we need from the President and Secretary of State if we are going to achieve a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict - the only way to truly secure Israel’s future as a Jewish, democratic homeland.

Please send the President a message telling him you support his “Freeze means Freeze” approach to Israeli settlements.

i bought the dead tree version of the nyt during the days i had no electricity (and so no internet access at home) after the roads were cleared and i could drive out (december ice storm). otherwise, i have my favorite reporters on google alerts so i don’t miss them. cost nothing out of pocket and although there are advertisements at least they are not printed.

I don’t even know how much NYT is here. Other than too much.

The usual in The City Beautiful. 79. Humid. 90 later. T-storms.

Big news locally. Billy Mays died. Another 50 year old bites the dust this week. I better watch it. And the Barack Obama figure debuted at WDW Hall of Presidents. Season pass holders got a sneak peek yesterday. I’m not one but it was in all the paper this morning.

Any break from the heat in GA, Marion ? It’s not quite as bad here. We had heat indexes up to 110 last week.

This is my third week of not buying the NYT on Sunday (I used to get it solely for the crossword) as it is now $6 here. Interestingly I had a house full of relatives here this week and found that all four family branches no longer purchase the NYT, or any other newspaper. Trashy writing was high on the list of reasons but by far the biggest reason was that we could get more varied and potentially more honest information on line. We did all agree, however, that the NYT should start hiring copy editors. I applaud you Marion for your willingness to read the trash for our benefit!
