Based on his outrage when Nico reminds him he praised the "Mission Accomplished" moment, I think Dana might wanna Google his own columns.
For Bush — who also gave a national address from the carrier and spent the night aboard — it was a bold bid to surround himself with the aura of the U.S. military.
And WTF are Milbank and the always unbearable Amanda Carpenter bitching about? When Bush invited right-wing propagandists like Hugh Hewitt, Neil Boortz and Glenn Beck for an exclusive sit down in the White House, I didn’t hear any hand-wringing about "collusion" or everyone getting a "fair crack at the President." So here the White House calls an actual reporter doing great work on a particular subject and tells him he might get called on — and it’s a national scandal? Bite me.
For some background on this, read EW.

you might want to update … lol:
Ana Marie Cox claimed in a tweet this morning that when the interview was over, Dana Milbank told Nico Pitney, “You’re such a dick.”

aHAHAHAHAHA!
I iz rolling on the floor laughin’ my ass off.
Poor Dana gets called out, and that’s all he’s got? He and his fellow villagers are still in denial, but seem to be working their way towards anger.
Also.
Yup. Bite me, too.
Nico was awesome. Kept his cool while the two of them tried to play gotcha.
I don’t have many laugh out loud moments during talking heads shows but this one got me. Afraid Nico has probably nixed the possibility of future appearances on these programs. One requirement is that while in the studio you feign undeserved respect for your fellow panelists. Paul Krugman has never told George Will to his face that he is pathetic, although he must think so.
Milbank is maddening! (I won’t even comment on the whiney woman.)
I am not surprised, though. Remember when Dana used to be on Keith Olbermann’s show a lot? I couldn’t stand him, then. It always seemed he wasn’t all THERE. And then he wasn’t on anymore. Keith just said one thing (that I saw). It was something about Dana wouldn’t be on anymore. No explanation. It seems little (and he IS a tiny little thang) Dana just couldn’t be on Countdown — too partisan, ya know. But other venues? Not a problem! And, just like O’Reilly, when his enemy is making a good point about him, he immediately interrupts (and raises his voice) to drown the person out.

When someone has contacts to solicit questions from Iranian participants those contacts should be utilized and were. This represents a tantrum by a out of control MSM that has a perception of entitlement.
MSM would never have the intelligence & initiative to think about collecting Qs from Iranians to ask the U.S. prez. MSM does not like being shown up, no, no, not at all.
Isn’t Milbank Skull & Bones?
Why, yes he is…
no, no, not at all.
The Clash!
Millibank, the journamilist at the end of the universe.
.
Reading EW’s post again … these shitheads really do think they run the world. Obama’s only supposed to call on who they want him to call on??? And the topics they deem to be important are the only important topics.
These are the same people who want to tell all of us what we should be reading … NOT all the ”unprofessional” blogs. Spit.
And how fucking professional to call someone a ”dick” on set. What a bunch of morons.
This isn’t ”professional journalism.” It’s HIGH SCHOOL.
Nico’s piece is terrific. They really don’t have a chance. Go Nico.
How does Kurtz put Amanda Carpenter on that panel? Can Milbank speak for himself? Did she trash Nico too? Looks like an unfair fight to me. Liberal bias. 3:1 when you count Kurtz.
Nico blogs about it himself: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…..22001.html
You know waht was really exciting? Dubya’s genyou-wine dyed-in-the-wool reporter plant, Jimmy Jeff Gannon Guckert from Talon News Agency and (Gay) Top Performing Male Escort Servicer with Web Site and full nude photos and the lack of press passes, no records of his visits on the White House guest lists, and the speculation that Gannon visited the White House at night and had a boyfriend (maybe Karl Rove) in the Bush White House.
Exciting, titilating, provocative, interesting and illegal, but never registered more than a blip on the MSM radar.
But this Nico Pitney thing – HUGE.
Wiki
Amanda is a cutie. And dumb as dogshit.
Look, the reason others didn’t have a “fair crack” at the president is that Nico worked to develop contact with real, live Iranians. They didn’t. Hr was asked to transmit these questions because he HAD them. Milbank (and the others) had shit. Fuckin’ babies. Did I mention that Amanda’s cute? if only she’d just shut her yap. Hey Amanda, iron my shirt.
Good job Nico.
OH, I see now, Obama’s supposed to do what they all say because he’s not a white man. Skull and Crossbones indeed.
Oh shit. Yer kiddin’ Is that still on? I figgered them to lose 6-0. Might as well watch some soccer. once every 3-4 years or so. whether i need it or not.
It was touching when Dana called Kurtz, “Howie”, or maybe just weird…
Recall another stink by the entitled press over Obama’s second oath of office.
did Nico get called on once before. Someone from HuffPo did. The MSM types are scairdy-fraid. But what EW says is true. He actually HAD something. He should be called on. They should do this every press conference “Dana, do you have shit to ask?” “Um, Chuck Todd, how ‘bot you?” “Major Gar— never mind.” these dipshits would never get called on.
Wouldn’t it be nice to see Dana that focused on busting a President as he was on attacking Nico?
This reminds me that the press was afraid of Bush and his handlers and nobody used this anger (directed toward a blogger) to question Bush. Why? Status and access. Nico is a “nothing” to Dana and can be treated as such.
What also bothers me is the lame idea that Bush didn’t stage manage all events with press and the “regular” people. Of course Kurtz knows this but let his buddy have his say, it’s the double standard of the repubs vs dems.
For example, we know that Bush allowed no follow up questions and the press just took it. We know that the press was told where to sit and to wait to be called rather than shouting out. Eric Boehlert in his book, Lapdogs, pointed this out extensively.
This “sit and wait” method favored the established press and gave first dibs to the tv people. The fact that Dana didn’t fight these rules at the time showed just what a hypocrite he is but also that he feels he is above it all and never was manipulated.
He was manipulated every day.
Oh, and by the way, if the press really think that they don’t know who will ask what questions they are just deluding themselves. They know in general who might ask what, and if Repoter A asks question 1 instead of question 5 this isn’t much difference because they are prepared for questions 1-50. Reporters are actually very predictable.
I’ve been on the prep side of these press conferences. Smart prep ensures that there are no real surprises with questions. Many people think of the journalists and who they would prep if they were a journalist, but what they often don’t do is put themselves in the position of the person who is going to be questioned. That is a very useful exercise for journalists. If you want to “bust” someone like Bush, Cheney and Rummy you need to consider how they are going to respond to your questions, what their answer is going to be and to bust their answer. If you aren’t thinking 4 steps ahead of them they will take you out in 2.
Halftime, 2 really cool goals!
Why the fuck didn’t all reporters get a fair crack at bush? Why was it okay for Bushco to outright ban reporters from the White House press room when they felt like it. These people really make me ill.
This is why Milbank no longer appears on KO (from HuffPo):
I believe it was Sam Stein.
Chip Reid, Ed Henry, Garrett & Chucky are following the “Bob Woodward” strategy of journalism and these durn bloggers are upsetting the Apple cart … “go along to get along” has replaced the great skills of journalism of yore.
Bullying the MSM to cowtow to BushCo’s messages was important to keep the sheeple in line … fortunately, teh Interwebs provided an alternative.
OT alert….. Billy Mays found dead this morning at the age of 50…. now where is the 24/7 coverage? Where is the in depth bio programs?
At least I don’t need to mute my TV as much (I know that is crude)…….
US-Brazil now 2-1. Goal by Fabiano in the first minute of 2nd half.
He got hit in the head from falling luggage when the plane he was on blew a tire on landing. He thought he was ok.
Axelrod was sharply quizzed on MTP on this. Gregory sounded like an angry boss scolding an employee. Unfortunately Axelrod seemed rather flustered under the questioning.
very much like the skiing accident by that actress…. (do not remember names as yet)
well, going to take a nap….. did not sleep well last night….
Exactly!

Q: When was the last time Dana Milbank broke a news story?
A: When one of his friends in the bowels of the White House phoned him with a tip.
Q: When’s the next time Dana Milbank will break a news story?
A: Never. The Republicans are no longer in the White House. And nobody else he knows is on the forefront of anything remotely news worthy.
It doesn’t take any insight at all to see that Milbank is wildly jealous of Nico Pitney’s success in covering Iran. I’d bet my bottom dollar Obama, Gibbs, and Axelrod are having a big laugh over Baby Dana’s tantrum.
