Woo Hoo LENINGRAD COWBOYS!
hey nahant
hey neuro
hey that guy
how’s the weather tonight?
Hey neuro how goes it??
hot, humid and unbearable here…
getting coool in SillyValley.
it goes OK except that I still have an aching back from my adventures in CO. going to see a massage therapist in the a.m., supposed to be the best in town.
Woot! Leningrad Cowboys! I hope the Lake is nice and cool tonight. I made more iced sangria today, got to stave off that scurvy you know.
then ya gotta do a cannonball into the lake neuro. fastest way to cool off i know
hey beard – sounds like neuro could use some with that achy back.
neuro – maybe you should try the lake’s hottub instead…
We were at 85 with a nice breeze, the yard was very pleasant to sit out in, sure didn’t feel like 85. Bay Area AC kicked in and is now a nice cool 68. Great for sleeping (:>))
We do love Redwood city!!
by golly I’m hot…… haven’t been hot for weeks……
how about a floaty chair in the lake katy – a glass of beard’s sangria in the cubbyhole on the arm…
sold!
Hey Suz how does the 25th work for you. Julie is done with teaching and will be free. I know it is Saturday but does leave Sunday for travel..
Where did you go while you were here? I can’t remember a day it hasn’t rained this month. Already the fifth wettest june on record. Snowing up high
i’ll make it work nahant
Hey, Suz…
Were you thinking ’bout some SC politician with tonight’s song choice?
Sat and Sun are bringing us 102 degrees. And our forkin’ ac is broken. We do have two window units in the office rooms.
we talking afternoon nahant? sat nite is cartoons dood
yup
how ya doing?
Fort Collins area. the locals told me they’d never seen weather like it.
my comments on the weather pertained to back home in KS.
yeouch
i’m supposed to be in the 70’s this weekend – tis only a question of 70 with or without sunshine
hey foothillsmike – how ya been?
for the last week I have been bundled up with two throws (one wool) to the chin most of the evening……going to take my meds (god that sounds weird) and turn on the ceiling fan….
Well now that is decided I need to work on the rest… Like who else can come to a meetup that day… and of course the food!!
Suze, this vid is SO cool!
Did I send you the Captain Kirk montage set to this song?
Oh Neuro, I bet that will fix you right up. Years ago I had a frozen muscle from my shoulder to my neck, and 45 minutes of massage cured it completely.
i’m looking forward to some of that apple pie dood
Trying to stay dry but doin good.
I would love to be there nahant but I don’t have any frequent flyer miles like Gov. Sanford has (or had)…
thanks that guy – yes you did. when i saw this video after utubing ‘just a gigolo’ it was a natural pick :)
hey margot – how’s ohio?
To enjoy the “Best Weather by Government Test” we have to have it during the day.. Besides we Can’t mess with cartoon night God Forbid /s
Probably start at 1 or 2 as Julie has her private students in the AM.
We can chat on the phone in the next couple of days &
I won’t forget not before noonsies for yousies!!
we had our first 100 degree day of the year earlier this week…right now we’re in an “excessive heat” warning til Saturday…fortunately our ac is adequate if not great.
for some reason I have not felt like mowing the lawn this week even though it needs it…
any time after 2pm is always doubly safe :)
Corporatist have stolen our democracy.
I want it back. If you have to have big business donations to finance political campaigns you live in an Oligarchy (fascist). Yes we are back to where Italy was in the 30’s.
Difi and the lot are under corporate rule they are owned.
Campaign Finance Reform needs to come from us. Jane Hamsher are you listening…the big money is killing the progressive agenda. They have taken over small biz more and more. Congress is afraid of them. Now we are underwriting their investment gambles.
Good evening Suz nahant and all cool here all day cloud cover.
Pretty good, thanks. Mrs BC is coming home Sunday, so I’m looking forward to not being bach-ing it.
You said something downstairs about the Sanfords and separate maintenance and child support. If they are religious whack-jobs that they pose as, I doubt it will come to that unless he initiates the proceedings. The future that I see is him being forgiven for his transgressions every day of the rest of his life. And he’d better hope there’s no one-way comm system from her into an afterlife, because he’ll still be forgiven daily.
If the DR lawyers get involved, separate maintenance and child support will revolve around what she did with the income from her trust fund. If she commingled it in joint accounts, she could end up owing him sep maint. That would likely offset child support payments. I’m not at all sure what the status of any business ventures they might have are, but those would figure in to. Needless to say, if it comes to a divorce, it’s going to be complex.
yikes! high humidity too?
Might be Peach Suz as my Neighbors crop should be ready about then… but we will see. Oh no Chile this time I am thinking of a Gumbo or something like that but that is always changeable..
My kids have been in the 100s for a while. My son has also had the humidity at 100.
good to hear – i get tired of my own cooking.
and i agree – life as he knew it is over – he is in the eternal purgatory doghouse.
peach! i love peach pie! especially if there is a great vanilla ice cream to go on top
I am sure he will do the good, Christian thing, whatever that may be…
just as sure as I am that he spent the weekend hiking the Appalachian Trail…
yes indeed. like a swamp.
I’ve stayed indoors as much as possible.
what part of CO you in, mike?
Hey BB how goes it??
As for your statement about OUR Government here is something you can do about it… From You Street
Dear Nahant,
Two weeks ago, we asked you for your feedback. The input you gave us really helpful. One thing we heard from a number of You Street supporters was that testimonials from former Senators were a powerful way to communicate why we need to enact public funding now.
We heard you loud and clear, and one of our Co-Chairs, former Senator Bob Kerrey, has written a piece in the Huffington Post outlining the cold “political truth unvarnished by patriotic rhetoric.”
It’s on the front page, and at http://bit.ly/JMp05.
Will you take a look and share this link with friends? You can also help by leaving a comment.
Here’s an excerpt:
You say you want to serve your country in Congress? Show me the money. Otherwise, you will be shown the door.
To get the money you’ll either need to be sufficiently wealthy that a $25 million expenditure is pocket change or you’ll need to do things that make a person with an average capacity for shame and guilt feel like they have done something terribly wrong. Sometimes — as the latest PMA scandal in Washington reveals — the feeling will be justified.
If you believe this needs to change, but do not want to modify the First Amendment, the only solution is public funding of Federal elections, driven by small donations. Under such a system, serious, hardworking candidates who say no to special interest money and accept only small donations from their constituents, receive enough in matching funds to run a competitive campaign.

We’re working every day to improve the broken but all-too-real system Senator Kerrey described. We believe public funding that encourages small donations and voter participation will do just that.
Sincerely,
Nick Mitchell
You Street
when and where is the meetup?

i remember those hot swampy nights from visiting family in southern kansas. ugh!
We have wild? apricots trees in the green belt next to the river. Ron and i are going back there to pick and make jam.

So glad you are feeling great Katy hope more of the same for you. If you could make it for the meetup, it would be really great!!
Well, I don’t know, because I’ve never had a mistress. But I can’t figure out how in this sort of situation it takes seven days to tell her, “It’s been real. It’s been fun. A few times it was even real fun. But it’s over.”
Unless of course they were having a six-day farewell f***. Or someone else here put it, they were balling and bawling…
hey suz, nahant, mary, all. peach pie with haagen-dazs…drooling all over the keyboard
They say that these trees are from the gold rush era. Is this possible?
i think she found out it was over when he did his presser.
NE KS
I was raised in OKC. Didn’t mind the heat there as much as I do here, I think the humidity was lower there.
Have made it twice and I thought people might be getting to think that is all I know how to make… gotta keep e’m on their toes ya know, besides having to keep teaching all those educated palates a thing or two!!
or offspring. lotsa households had fruit trees back in the day. every household farm had em.
Maria is a good looking lady

Excellent Nahant

You just cannot embarrass people like that. I will go there and see what I can do, Need a coalition to support their efforts. Maybe led by Alan Grayson on the inside and netroots on the outside. Thanks Nahant you are all over this.
My neighbors two Blenheim’s hang over the fence for sharing.. not the best crop this year but I tried one this AM still a bit hard but the flavor oh the flavor….
hey bb
well it sure was good chili! but it’s always exciting to have the palate educated
ya could always bbq brined chicken to go with that gumbo
bb didja row today?
did someone say gumbo?
For two summers of my misspent youth we had a big apricot tree in the back yard. I would go out in the evening after it cooled off some and climb into the tree with a book. Reading and absolutely fresh apricots … it’s tough to beat that.
As far as the lifespan of stone fruits goes, I suppose it’s possible those trees go back to 1850 or so, but very unlikely. The orchards in the Central Valley that went in during the first half of the 20th C are mostly senescent now.
RIP Michael :(
Sad life in many ways, but what a Talent..
‘Pop star Michael Jackson has died in Los Angeles, aged 50.
Paramedics were called to the singer’s Beverly Hills home at about midday on Thursday after he stopped breathing.
He was pronounced dead two hours later at the UCLA medical centre. Jackson’s brother, Jermaine, said he was believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest.’
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/ent…..119993.stm
last I heard, we still weren’t sure whether “she” was a “she”…
and even if she is, someone still needs to ask the gov to explain how, exactly, a married man having an illicit, secret affair with a person of the opposite sex is less of a “threat” to “traditional marriage” than two people of the same sex in an open, honest, exclusive, consensual, committed relationship are a “threat” to it, as all right wing Repugs hold it out to be…
hey jackie
Well I might be bribed into a small batch… but we’ll see as it gets near the time..
i thought that was figured out when they found the stuff from back when she was reporting (iirc i saw a still of her reporting in new york).
abb had a great post up about that very topic neuro
Isn’t it obvious, neuro?
If a straight guy like me had the option of marrying some guy for some hot man-on-man action … wait a second. That doesn’t make any sense at all.
See my #69 She was a reporter covering 9-11 for a tv station
Julie just said she is now thinking of having me make Jambalaya… sheesh all these great ideas for main course dishes…. (:>)) what joy what joy!!

After reading more of Sanford’s e-mails, thinking he just might bail.
He’s got it baaad – like a dumb adolescent. Cruising around in his air conditioned excavator in the dark, playing country music and thrilling to the thrum of the motor.
i dont think he was thinking beyond getting there. he just up and poofed.
Sure. when is it? email me at mary at xxx dot com. I am going to bed now and may not get your reply.

Fine presidential material/s.
BC is right. His life is gonna be hell on earth ….. forever.
Rowed yesterday pedal to the medal…good conditiond for another personal best. The vegan diet gives little saturated fats so less oxygen demand for more work.
so the new diet helps with the rows? are you taking in extra carbs?
Today was a very busy day. I think it’s time for me to turn in. Nite all.
g’nite mark h

nahant i sent off mail to npb to see if i can reserve her guest room that weekend. not sure if i’ll bring token or not because if i do that means less space in the car for bringing up more plants.
g’nite nahant
Suz, is downstairs going to be there forever?
Suz we have space for ya if you want. Julie’s Music room is also guest room with it’s own bath… Let me know… Julie kinda assumed you would be using it… (:))
Token would be welcomed!!
A culinary adventure unparalled. My red potatoes are getting to baseball size and that is a carb. Quinoa, a Peruvian high protien grain, lentils of Frech and other varieties. 9 grain pancakes with rolled oats, buckwheat and stone ground whole wheat flour (my mill).
The green beans, black, red, aduki, pinto beans, carrots,Oregon snow peas, yellow crook neck, buternut squach, zuchini, caukiflower, brocoli peaches, apples, oranges, grapefruit, tomatoes, lettuce, balsamic vinegar…the list goes on to herbs spices like hot curry, cayenne and chile, tyme, safflower oil. All of course organic.
It is a total adventure in food combinations that make complete protiens without the allergens of dairy and the anti biotics in meat poultry and fish.
The diet expands…the dishes, soups, salads expand. I have 8 raised beds The sunflowers are beautiful and healthy…mostly feed with recycled laundry and sinl water that is aerated and becomes compost tea water on good soil. No pest as I use physical barriers and diatomacious earth to send them in other directions.
Tjere are so much to chose from vegan is really freegom from fats and toxins.
Going more raw and less cooked food makes the organs do what they were evolved to do digestion. It is an adventure in good health.
thanks nahant
i know i’ve gone to a more organic and natural selection in my meats, fish, and produce. have some herbs growing (a first) and may do an actual garden next year. baby steps.
nite all.
g’nite sunny
time for me to head out myself. g’nite all and thanks for an enjoyable evening.
