I see Firedoglake as pretty much a middle of the road liberal site. Ones like you, however, who think YOU are a middle-of-the-road Democrat is what I refer to as a middle-of-the-road Republican, pretty much drummed out of his party by the Religious Right.

You need to get the GOP back to sanity rather than trying to pull the Dems to the right.

I think 95% of this phenomenon is based on age. I came of age in the very early 70s. If you came of age since 1980 (Reagan or beyond), you have a skewed version of labels.

These freaks live just like they are in Jesus’s time. (But they ignore most of Jesus’s teachings.) No rights for women, no modern dress for women, no birth control (You see, the more children you have, the better God likes you.) Are these freaks mentally ill? I’d say YES. Either that or they are EVIL.

But in this group, having 10 or 15 kids is NOT unusual. And, of course, the fact that having child after child after child is not healthy for women is not true, to them. In fact, abortion is against God’s law, even if the fetus has 0% chance of making it to full term (say, doesn’t have a heart or lungs). They call this a LIE. You see, a MIRACLE could happen. And if carrying the fetus to term will either kill or severely cripple the woman — it’s a 50-50 concept: You wanna save the baby or the woman? To them, not even a question. Save the fetus with no heart. These people are extremely sick and should have their children put in Child Protective Service, IMO.
