It’s not just the ‘madman’ thing nowadays. It’s also the “I’m dumb as Hell and proud of it” b.s. This evening I saw a bit of the Senate committee hearing on Health and there was a go-around between Coburn and Mikulski and then Roberts tried to smooth it over. But, when Roberts was done gurgling Sen. Mikulski said something like, “I honestly don’t understand a word of what you just said.” Roberts just slumps back in his chair with a look of frustrated anger (as always) and has nothing more to say.

It’s the “angry White man”, the “frustrated with government” & “Get off my grass” crap.

God, I hope they make good progress on the health reform legislation. I have a hard time imagining the difficulty of those meetings and then not getting anything done. No wonder Edwards, Clinton & Obama left the Senate & run for President — they wanted to get clear of the garbage and get stuff done.

I have no idea, but I’m determined not to find out, if I can avoid it. It’ll just be bad for my blood-pressure (Although,I normally run low, so the increase would be an interesting experience)
