I suggest using a percentage of income instead of fixed dollar amounts, so that if you earn $100 more, then 11% would still be 11% (for example). If you move over the line, then, as you said, it should be high enough that you would be likely to pay for your policy without too many headaches.</p> <p>Any gov’t assistance is going to have some effect like that.
