Over-stolen? [Rich Lowry]
You have to wonder if the Iranian authorities now regret "over-stealing" the elections? Did the theft have to be quite this blatant?

Yeah, just a few well-dressed rioters allowing you to allegedly win in a squeaker is usually the best route.

It’s the part about vacation being over that is troubling. Fortunately, some of us are still vacating.
I’m just back from a week at the Outer Banks myself. One of the fancy charter boats I went on had TV but I stayed out on deck!
I sympathize with the Iranians, when I protested Bushes theft of the 2000 election at least I didn’t have to worry about being beaten or having my home invaded by government thugs!
This issue is far from over!
There was more than one person here at the lake wringing their hands about Bush canceling the last election.
Used to frequent a beach called Emerald Isle back in my military days.
Got the worst sunburn of my life there too.
Good news?
The Ayatollah has ordered an investigation of the results of the Iranian election.
I wonder if that’s anymore useful than having our SCOTUS review the Bush election/
Probably not !!
Jar Head huh? We took the ferry from Okracoke to Cedar Island and drove through your old stomping grounds on the way to Topsail. Did you get a Captains Mast for damaging government property?
Good morning, pups. It’s Cohen and Krugman today. Mr. Cohen, writing from Tehran, addresses “Iran’s Day of Anguish,” and says overnight in Iran, a whole movement and mood were vaporized, to the point that they appeared to have been a hallucination. Mr. Krugman says “Stay the Course,” and that in previous liquidity-trap episodes, policy makers gave in to pressure to return to normalcy far too soon. And if the critics have their way, we’ll do the same thing this time.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and the biscuits are out of the oven. I’m off to get another cup of tea and go out and water the things I transplanted yesterday to try to keep the heat from getting them this afternoon. Have a great day.
Air Force , or as my jar head friends like to say ” The Chair Force “
Yes , I did get a verbal warning , to add insult to injury.
I have coffee every morning with an AF vet. We have fun poking each other but there were a couple of times I was really glad to hear the zoomies come over the horizon!
I still get a thrill when I hear a fighter jet scream by with full after burners.
I go see the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels whenever they are nearby
I’m witcha, they were especially nice to watch when they pounded a tree line!
…Thunderbirds or Blue Angels whenever they are nearby.
which is usually for not very long.
You wanna see those guys, ya gotta be quick. *g*
I was an engine mechanic on F 4s ,I bet you saw alot of those
It’s always interesting which topic brings me from full lurk to delurk…but eastern NC will do it every time. My hometown is Swansboro, just across the ICW from Emerald Isle. That’s where I spent the better part of every summer. Before the big bridge, we took ferries across. If you went from Cedar Island to Topsail, you had to pass through Swansboro. Much more crowded now than then but still a very lovely place. Grew up with those jets zooming over; and helicopters and LOOONNNGGG convoys on route 24 headed to Morehead City to debark. My teenaged years coincided with Vietnam and it was a busy place then.
Do you remember hearing the sonic booms,I used to hear them all the time in the early 60’s haven’t heard one in over 40 years?
Absolutely! Those booms cracked the walls of our house!! It was a very, very loud place. It used to make my mother nervous (she was that way, anyway) but those jets flying over was the most exciting thing possible for a kid. On a field trip in middle school, we went to the Bogue SAC base and watched the jets do fly by practice landings. The field there was set up like a carrier and the pilots practiced their landings but without the rubber bands. And the Blue Angels seemed to be around a lot. They used to practice over the White Oak River, which is where I lived.
I’m just back from a 4 day escape, myself. So, Monday-Wednesday were hectic finishing things up at work and home before taking off and then the vacation was with limited computer access.
That’s all a lead-in to my question on the war funding issue. The repubs are voting against it? Every single one of them? Why? (Not that I’m complaining).
Well. It’s over. Don’t know the temp in The City Beautiful. Clear, lots of sun but it’s very gloomy. Our heroes lost. Much as it pains me to say it, congratulations to the Lakers – the better team (although Pao Gasol is still a Euro-wuss.) It’s been a great run and good to see the town come togther behind something. Wish it could happen for something other than sports. But you take what you get. It’s over and like Robert Redford sai, what do we do now? Go back to being a crime-ridden, swampy craphole, I suppose. But if only for a month, we came to believe in Magic. Maybe it’ll happen again.
Funding for IMF. “Obama’s bailing out foreign banks now!”
Whoa. Just checked because I’ve been out and it’s oppresive already. Weather Channel says 79 in The City Beautiful. Humidty = 90%. Ick.
I still smell more than a whiff of the CIA and Joint Special Operations Command in this.
Iranians will have to throw off the Yoke of the Leisure Suit on their own.
So sorry, BFL.
I’m thinking that your mood is effecting your opinion of Orlando. Sunshine and palm trees. Being in CNY, it seems like paradise.
Thanks, that info helped me google some articles.
Same here , we’ve been waiting for summer for a long time ,here in central Massachusetts.
55 and raining right now !!
Good morning everyone. It’s cool this morning in South Jersey, will have to see what today brings. I think we’re out of the rain zone. My lavender have enjoyed the wet season so far.
I hope the situation in Iran settles quickly but I think it’s only going to get worse.
BFL_Bailouts are us, except of course those who are on the small end of the scale.
Time to go join the capitalist world.
Gotta eat you know !!
Have a good day.
Indeed.
I’ve enjoyed myself every time I’ve visited your fair city.
And, thanks to your team, my gloom started 2 weeks ago.
Plus, you don’t need a shovel for humidity.
I miss the Jersey shore soooooooo bad. And bagels. And pizza. We have sunshine, true. For now. Will have t-storms this afternoon. And the humidity is 90!
We were recently ranked #6 in crime. And of course, police are being cut but the Magic’s new arena is right on schedule. Gotta hve priorities, right?
Maybe I am being hard on… let’s say “rough on,” and i’ll reserve the expression “hard on” for other contexts… The City Beautiful. I’ll enjoy the humidity while I can
Well-dressed rioter and a well-packed SCOTUS will do it every time.
Just wanted to let you know that your positive morning postings brighten my day wherever in the world I happen to read them. Thank you. Savannah is on the list.
