Hi firedogs, sorry I won’t be able to join you in chat this evening.
Hope you find time in your weekend for lots of good music.

ES

NASA scrubs space shuttle launch
Leak discovered while the Endeavour was being fueled

Hey Kelly, Me too!
I COULDN’T CARE LESS ABOUT THE SUPPLEMENTAL!!!!!!!!!
FORK
Well, then we might as well party at The Lake, neh?
Damn was EPU’ed……
I don’t know if anyone has read this blog but it is hysterical and written by two 80′ish women….. just like Molly Ivans, they tell it like it is…
Margaret and Helen
Bring it on like History Boys!
Have a great weekend ES….
I just wrote about that in Oxdown. I tried to be fact oriented but I am pissed as hell.
hey!
the link – recommended
Nite ES, thanks for the music!
Thanks a bunch Suz – you rock!
Do you play bass by any chance? :)
Hi Suz… Tucker sends Token a treat… woof woof tail a wagging….
used to play the viola – do have a bass in the pod but it is baby girls.
i’ll pass it along when token wakes up from his evening nap (should be about time i take dinner out of the oven)
what kind suz??
baked pork chop and it is stephanies so i dont remember
Viola!
IMO, 2nd violins and violas are unsung orchestra heroes. Ya ain’t rich iff’n ya ain’t got 2nds and violas, especially when you need a damn good alto line sung to high heavens.
Tschaikowski loved you. :)
I still need a hot chick bass player [grinning!]
not to mention the commute from the oregon coast to denver would suck – especially for winter gigs — and my hotness reached its expiration date a long time ago
Added additional info….. attorney who wrote brief was a Bush holdover!
Heya all. *yawns and grins*
I don’t have a music vid, but this is just totally awesome sauce. Bandai went and made a life size Gundam in celebration of the airing of the first gundam series in 1979. I wish i could see that. *pouts*
Also just reveling in how much fun the new Star Trek film is, and seeing if i can rope a few of my local friends into seeing it this weekend. (So i can see it a second time.XD)
Two totally different fandoms, but both of them actually Space Opera genre. Star Trek was my first scifi thing though. Mom loved to watch TOS and took me to more than a few of the movies. (I saw Search for Spock when i was 7)
how kewl alias
nite pups!
g’nite nahant
Holy cow – thanks for that. I don’t read Aravosis very often, but there it is.
he’s pissed – and not the only one. he went over the govt brief with his lawyer’s eye and got even pissed-er.
OMG, Margaret and Helen are pee-yer-pants FUNNY!
I love you, Helen Philpott! Really. I mean it.
Which reminds me, I should trundle over there…haven’t checked in in awhile.

Robert Reich on Moyers, “Capitalism has swamped democracy.”
He is very good on LGTB issues….. as a straight granny, why does mean anything….. what rights the LGTB community gets, a woman who lives in sin with a middle aged man….. will roll off on us…… if I worked for a company who gave partner benefits, then it would include my partner….
OMG the rant on O’Rielly is so funny but this one is the best:
Hey, KellyC
even though you spell Kelley wrong…you speak-a my language vis a vis 2nd violins and violas. Having played a (very) few 2nd violin and viola orchestra parts, you/we are exactly right.
Every once in awhile I get to tell an appropriate member of the Seattly Symphony that I understand and appreciate their work.
2nd violin is at least as many notes, and less than 1/10th the glory. The only less appreciated section is viola. But oh! how we’d miss those inner voices if they weren’t there!

So I see.
I’m not a lawyer, but I did a 4 yr stretch as a paralegal, so I know how to read the citations and so forth, which is why I have loved LURKING at the Lake for so long. [I have a Marcy fetish - who doesn’t?]
That aside, clear eyed, I just don’t come to the same conclusions that John does as regards the incest and pederasty claims he makes. I think those sort of claims cheapen the true effort and cause at hand when one works from a sensationalism basis.
I do come to the conclusion that the MPA was not necessary, and if it was could have been defended by the standing and jurisdiction findings alone.
So I agree with John that there are novel arguments; I just don’t think it’s wise to go over the top with the incest etc. claims. There’s enough to bash the DOJ solely on a civil lib basis, and that works for me.
Other folks mileage may vary.
Kiss My Big Blue Butt is on my list of favorite very funny blogs.
Viola: V-I-O-L-A
Kelly: Q-E-L-L-I
Haz passed spellcheck? :)
ha! i always screw up and type viola when i should be typing voila
Been reading that before it was KMBBB and the beauty shop, met the blogger at the 2nd DemocracyFest in Austin TX. The writer is the very person who gave Tom Delay the tag “Hottub Tom”.
Another Texas woman who takes after Molly & Ann…
Me 2.

I found out (by asking her) that she went to college with a cousin of mine. How cool that you got to meet her.
Just like us 2nd sopranos holding up the 1st sopranos in our quest for the perfect harmony. *grin*
Mine is Kelly….ha….. someone at Ellis island just could not spell…
I also met Molly Ivans, Jim Hightower and Rep Jesse Jackson Jr…. if you click on the facebook next to my name one of the pictures are of me and Molly
How did you know I was one of us 2nd sopranos!
We rawk! Better reading and intonation skillz, too!
Bach B-minor mass, bay-bee! Sop-II = VERSATILE!

Viola Morans!
Sounds like a Drag Queen who’d make an appearance on Red State Update.
would also make a good porn name
I bet you got picked to sing “Prince Orlofsky” when Fledermaus rolled around your way.
Groovy!
[BWAAAAAHHH!!!]
Awwwww, thanks. You’re sweet.
Not enough opera/musical theater experience for that. But it would’ve been fun.
Nope. At the moment, I’m outta shape as a singer. When I’m in better shape the upper register is a work in progress, but I’m more of an agile soprano with a strong mid- and lower register.
BTW, I always thought this was funny:
Orlofsky: “we Russians have a motto, chacon a son gout!” (which, of course, is French, not Russian. Duh, your excellency!).

g’nite kelly
time for me to head out too. g’nite all
We unfortunately didn’t do anything like those operatic and classical pieces in my choir where i was a 2nd. I had remembered off hand you mentioning that you were one as well sometime back last year. *grin*
But we still had our share of difficult stuff. It’s rather fun walking that line between the altos and the 1st sopranos. I’d never realized just how difficult that position is, even if it doesn’t get all the ‘glory’. But it was a lot of fun, those years.
FWIW: I just now ran across a couple of articles saying that a judge has ruled that John Yoo must appear in court and can be sued for his evil deeds:

It’s a small beginning but an important one.
Good morning, pups. It’s Collins, Blow and Herbert today. Ms. Collins writes about “Mr. Dodd’s Best/Worst Year” and says that despite recent remarkable legislative achievements, Senator Christopher Dodd is in political hot water back home in Connecticut. Mr. Blow addresses “Hate in a Cocoon of Silence,” and says society needs to do a much better job of creating an environment where hateful beliefs are never ignored and suspicious behavior never goes unreported. Mr. Herbert, in “The Way We Are,” says the bullet that killed the security guard at the Holocaust museum was a reminder of the continuing menace of bigotry that pervades this country.
Here they are.
The coffee and tea are ready, and I’ve got banana pancakes this morning. The first eggplant buds showed up yesterday, and the bell pepper plants and tomatoes seem to be doing well. Fingers crossed… Have a great day.
