I’m not seeing how forcing us to buy crappy insurance from overpriced companies with high deductibles is anything but a huge giveaway to the insurance industry. It’s like Bush’s prescription drug solution x1000.

The only way we don’t get screwed by mandates is if the system is single payer. If single payer is off the table, it’s simply indentured servitude to private insurance. That’s why the insurance companies are fighting so hard for it. It’s being referred to as the “holy grail”.

The one thing that allows them to lobby our government is the one thing our government will not side against, money. In speaking to our elected officials, money is the only thing that sways them, whilst ordinary people like you and I rarely get heard.

John was a pilot who, iirc, was not instrument certified and the flight data shows a gradual descent into the sea.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) determined that the probable cause of the crash was: “The pilot’s failure to maintain control of the airplane during a descent over water at night, which was a result of spatial disorientation.”. Although the weather was officially listed as VFR (Visual Flight Rules), allowing Kennedy to fly that night despite his lack of an IFR (Instrument Flight Rules) rating, the visibility was poor in Essex County, New Jersey, and at least one pilot interviewed by the NTSB in the subsequent crash investigation canceled his flight to Martha’s Vineyard that night. “Based only on the current weather conditions at CDW, the fact that I could not get my friends to come with me, and the fact that I would not have to spend money on a hotel room in Martha’s Vineyard, I made the decision to fly my airplane to Martha’s Vineyard on Saturday.” The conditions near the crash site were “Clear skies at or below 12,000 feet; visibility 10 miles”.

That spells pilot error, not paying attention to his altimeter.

Do a little research. Jr. was an execellent pilot who never took risks. He was flying on a clear night and reported no mechanical problems. On approach to his destination, his plane plummeted almost vertically, in the same manner as Paul Wellstone’s plane.

The technology for controlling planes from the ground has been available for years. When Germany discovered that planes it purchased from US manufacturers included that hardware, it promptly dismantled it from all its US-purchased planes.

I dont believe in AIPAC’s stances or views but there is a thing in the constitution that says something about the freedom of assembly and the freedom of speech. if you outlaw them, where would it stop?
