As far as McHugh is concerned, if he’s got an R after his name and was elected in NY State he’s probably a better Democrat than Harry Reid…

Signing statement (the last word) by Prez Obama after the final lobby adjusted US health care plan is passed by Congress…By these words I declare Universal Health Care for every US citizen and then some. Kindly blow it out yer ass if U don’t like it! This would be a great message by a great US leader.

Interesting graph of loss of GDP, job loss, and decline in home prices. What is most interesting is that for every state job losses are greater than loss of GDP. And how localized the major declines in home prices are.

Expected is the fact that declines in home prices are greater than job losses as lots of folks still have jobs but can no longer afford their payments and cannot sell their homes.

Tough day to keep a lid on the simmering newskettle. ZOMG indeed. *snort*

Snookums? I see ya there, kicking sand on the beach towels, just ’cause ya know it drives someofus crazy. Humor me this once. ‘kay?

When Obama stops the use of drones in Pakistan and elsewhere I’ll stop using O”Bomb”A when discussing his war policies. To me drones are nothing more than a micro Rolling Thunder. Neither is acceptable.

Fair enough! I’ve been so scatter-brained of late, and not consistent in my time for reading at the Lake, I didn’t know your reasoning. I’m not one for tossing incendiary labels, but I agree with everything you said and gladly stand by your side on this. I hope your distress flares catch his attention.

Drone is a hideously blind misnomer for those horrible weapons.

What is most interesting is that for every state job losses are greater than loss of GDP.

If you are correctly interpreting the data, this is most interesting. The rule (Okun’s Law) is that for every one percent change in the unemployment rate, there is a two percent change in GDP. My guess is that when translated into percentages, that law still holds. Of course, people aren’t percents, which is the thing we all have to keep in mind.

Morning. Same as yesterday in The City Beautiful Magic. Same as tomorrow. Same as always. Hot. Thunderstorms.

Psyched about tomorrow. This place is going crazy and it’s good to see.

Bring it Kobe. You ain’t Magic.

But hey. The R approach to Sotomayor is one of te lamest things I’ve ever seen. saw 2 dopes on matthews last night saying the conformation had to take a long time because we need to have a good debate about affirmative action. Um, no. We need to have confirmation hearings and a vote. Time for that debate was last fall. Obama won. Granted, there wasn’t much debate about AA or judges but hey wignuts, if you weren’t so obsessed with birth certificates, an old time Weatherman and a looney preacher maybe we could have had that debate. I guess what I’m trying to say is this: Tough shit.

A friend looked at fox for a minute recently. She was laughing hysterically about the former beauty contest winner blonde airheads in very short skirts showing lots of leg. The fox producers know exactly how to keep their male audience tuning in.

Ouch! Indeed. I’d like to see more than a few pols and commentators smacked upside the head with that fact. Nail that thought right through the thick-skinned bubble those guys hide in while they’re making all their high-fallutin predictions, rules and excuses.

Joe Scarbo got his republican AK roni raygunzap propagando machine out on

MSNBC this morning! The Nation got to use some short truth reply bursts.

It was a typical r. r. love fest, along with Joe’s new book to give us

Hope. If Katrina could of just worked closer with Georgia Joe, and they’d

figured Obama just wants to get all Americans on prolonged detention so we

can all get that excellant GTMO Health Care.

As long as we continue our military adventures in Irak, Afghanistan and Pakistan our economy is going to remain in the toilet. We simply cannot afford 20+ years of constant warfare. Our funding of the military and banking industry is destroying the fabric of the country. What were once giant manufacturing companies are now nothing more than importers of cheap goods sold at inflated prices. We, our children and even our pets have paid the ultimate price in the name of profit.

You’re talking to a war protestor. If we have to play carrot and stick, rant and cajole, pound on their figurative doors, call them out in public, whatever it takes… Seriously, I’m almost pure pacifist at this point. I simply can’t tolerate the other choices in any way, shape or form.

I’ll follow the same road as you, but in my wimpy style. You go tiger! and Thank you!

p.s., best to little maste. ;->

This is one little tiger who’s just happy as a clam. Just a few minutes ago he and Gabby were curled up together on the dining room table.

Know-it-all Kramer was on morning joe according to my husband. Hubby has been in the car bidness in one capacity or another all his life & Kramer must have really set his hair on fire. Sounds like 99% of the joe lineup this morning was just as annoying.

the link. yes. i did earlier. Thanks.

I don’t do crowds well. Stay away from that kind of demo. And try to keep the approach calm enough when protesting that my “target” continues to listen, if possible.

I used the trap-door-spider approach during dubya’s reign of terrah. Wore upside-down flag in front of our house, on my car, and small but apparently eloquent flag pin on my person. If someone commented or even just frowned, I explained the meaning of the disturbing symbol, the official translation of exactly what display of our flag means: upside down = extreme danger and distress. Usually I didn’t have to explain further. I got a lot of thumbs up and nods from the darndest people. People who didn’t dare speak out personally. The worst reaction I ever got was sobered people “agreeing to disagree,” a position I readily offered if they wanted to argue the merits of warlike acts, the latter which I refused to do. I would not budge from my position, and didn’t fall into the trap of arguing any part of it. It was simply a personal statement.

It was a long couple of years I kept up the display (accompanied by yellow ribbon). The display, was never vandalized. But a significant number of truck drivers & the like signaled a thumbs-up or tooted the horn to me when seeing it. I have gray/white hair. I don’t play fair ;->

Funny thing about that tail. The day I brought him home after his tail removal I was awarded a natural Manx, Nagi. Watching the 2 of them I’ve noticed that Maste doesn’t quite have the balance Nagi does. I imagine that will also ease once he adjusts to no tail. He’s finally purring. A little rough around the edges but it’s there.
