Please stop telling me I hate America, at least until people on your side stop killing Americans.
168 at the Alfred P. Murrah Building, can’t forget about those folks, and Eric Rudolph at the 1996 Olympics. And there’s this:
If his murder was the result of anti-abortion ideology, Tiller’s would be the eighth death in the last 20 years. In addition, there have been 17 attempted murders, 41 bombings, 175 incidents of arson, 96 attempted bombings or arson, 390 invasions, 1,400 cases of vandalism, 1,993 cases of trespassing, 100 butyric acid attacks, 659 anthrax threats, 179 cases of assault and battery, 406 death threats, four kidnappings, 151 burglaries, and 525 cases of stalking directed at abortion clinics, doctors and patients according to the National Abortion Federation.
And the guy who shot and killed three Pittsburgh police officers, he was a piece of work.
And we’ve had more than a few people shot outside and inside Churches by some off his rocker evangelical.
Who was the last "leftist" extremist to arguably kill somebody in a political protest in America, MOVE in Philly in the late 70s? And they more than paid for it with the disproportionate response, they dropped a bomb on people, including children, not involved in the original crime seven years later — A BOMB!.
And what do you come up with for accusations to shout about? The fraudulent Ashley Todd, ACORN bullshit, "birth certificates", Vince Foster and oh yeah, somehow we liberals are ruining Christmas.
Yes, it’s so proportional to go nuts over overwrought bullshit, while your listeners are blowing people up or gunning them down. We’re so damned unfair.

Zed. But it’s not really a contest in who has the fewer lunatics, is it?
Gotta love that Culture of Life, folks.
Frank Schaefer
“My late father and I share part of the blame for the murder of Dr. George Tiller, the abortion doctor gunned down on Sunday.
Until I got out of the religious right (in the mid-1980s) and repented of my former hate-filled rhetoric, I was both a leader of the so-called pro-life movement and a part of a Republican Party hate machine masquerading as the moral conscience of America.”
Bill O’Reily and Glen Beck are pushing unstable people. So lets push them, Cable Free choice how many Feminists out there would drop Fox News from their basic cable if they were given a choice?
How many Hispanics would drop Fox News?
How many Conservatives would back pedal on their support for free markets?
The Right: luv America to death.
great article. fantastic point made. i think that right wingers can officially STFU about bill ayers.
Maybe not, DrZen, but that’s a contest I’d rather win.
Oh, but it’s all Obama’s fault because he made a speech about abortion. /s
Morning all.
Amerika, love it or leave itIf we don’t get our way we’re going to secede. Will the last person to leave please turn out the lights.
Exactly right, Attaturk. The right wingers like to say, “Oh yea? Well, you liberals were mean to George Bush for 8 years!” to even everything out. *shaking head* They’re lunatics. I think we should just treat them as such whether they’re on the radio (Beck), on the tv (O’Reilly), or in government (Bachmann etc etc etc).
This is also the reason why we CANNOT NOT EVER EVER EVER HAVE SARAH PALIN IN THE WHITE HOUSE OR IN THE CONGRESS FOR ANY REASON. Why? Because she’s the ‘white woman who yells the black man raped her” type! Very dangerous, she is.
The thought of both palin AND bachmann in deecee is enough to curdle the blood….or churn the stomach. Good thing I ain’t ets breakfast yet.
Morning. Back in Groundog Day mode here in The City Beautiful. 672 and clear. For now. 80’s and thunderstorms today, tomorrow and through Sunday. By then we’ll be up on the Lakers 2-0.
Believe in Magic.
It’s an amazing statistical compilation of Jesus inspired violence that the lunatic fringe has racked up, and they comprise a substantial part of the GOP’s political base.
I would like to see an unequivocal condemnation from every current and former GOP Governor, Senator, Congressman of Dr. Tiller’s murder and his executioner and especially of the organizations that foster this atmosphere of hate knowing full well that sooner or later one of the fanatics will take the law into his or her own hands in furtherance of their goals.
More specifically, I would like these so-called political leaders on the right rebuke Randall Terry and his vile de-humanizng characterization of Dr. Tiller as a mass murderer who reaped what he sowed. Randall Terry is a coward and because he is a coward he needs other people to do his bidding, people like the murderer of Dr. Tiller. Those people, especially the politicians on the right, who not unequivocally condemn Randall Terry and all the other pro-life troglodytes are also cowards.
Fuck you Randall Terry, and all the cowards who define the modern GOP. Fuck you and go to hell. Literally.
Glenn Beck has a comedy tour? I’ll bet he kills.
Really. Imagine that tag team? i mean, it’d be good for some laughs i guess. Didja see Matthews called the R’s “pissants” ??
It’s really hard to comprehend the parallel universe (sorry, EPU)
that we lived through in the ’90s.
Well done, Attaturk.
Guest on cnbc sez airplane tracking uses 40 year old technology.
Haven’t watched him lately….wading thru’ 60 minutes of dreck for the one or two good moments gets old. It’s probably on a vid clip somewhere but since I can’t watch, in what context did he use that pejorative?
Good Morning, Firepups!
It’s sunny and pleasant in central Jersey, but thunderstorms are forecast for this afternoon, on primary day here in the Garden State. Gov. Corzine is not loved at the moment, as economic conditions are bad, and he has been attempting to clean up the mess left by borrow and spend administrations of the past [why yes, Christie Whitman and Jim McGreevey, we’re looking at you!], causing reductions in state services at a time when folks need them more. State workers are being furloughed (days without pay), and the larger municipalities (like Newark, for which I work) are doing the same. I have one friend who works for the state who actually is doing two jobs for one salary (she was selected to head one program, but if she left her current agency (now down to 3 employees) they would have to close up a big grant program — so she’s doing both jobs).
Corzine has token opposition. Former US Attorney Chris Christie (no relation to the former gov, but helpful for name recognition and generally pleasant associations) will be an easy victor over former mayor Steve Lonergan. NJ seems to have one of the few populations of centrist Republicans left, and they tend to vote for candidates that can win a substantial share of independents. We don’t like lunatics in NJ. Christie stands a reasonable shot at defeating Corzine in the general. NJ hates politicians who administer painful economic medicine (see: Florio, Jim).
Keep speaking the truth, Attaturk. The right made a pact with the devil (see: Nixon, Richard) when they pursued the Southern strategy. The only things they seem to believe are that government is the problem (courtesy of St. Ronnie) and that everyone is out to get them. Bloviators from Fox love to fan the flames, with the predictable result being crimes like the murder of the courageous Dr. Tiller, committed by paranoid freepers.
Work for peace, every day.
There’s a clip at HuffPo

Dial-up = no vids. :-( But thanks for looking.
Brendan “One Term” Byrne administered painful medicine and got re-elected. But that was really only because Sandman ran such an incredibly stupid camnpaign. I’m not up rtere anymore but I hear Corzine is in real trouble. hey, at least he wasn’t picked for Treasury Secretary. Now THAT’S a headache.
I remember the “incident” in upstate NY when some fanatic killed a physician in his own home by sniping his target hundreds of feet away through plate glass windows after the sun had gone down and the lights were on inside the home. Here’s the story as it was unfolding,
This is an example of missionary zeal.
Undone, I think your idea about about losing Fox from cable is a good idea. So I called Comcast corporate at this number: 215-665-1700. I spoke with an executive assistant of the president and said I no longer want to support Fox channel in any way because they incite murder, sedation, and hate. And that I want to opt out of receiving FOX. She was receptive and I will receive a call back today.
Lets find out what would happen if all readers called their cable corporations and did the same. Comcast: 215-665-1700.
A patriot loves his country and hates his government. Or, a patriot defends his country against his government.
If this country is what’s in the Constitution (it’ll have to do), I love it. If it is this country’s genocide, slavery, aggression, etc., I despise it.
I already gave up cable. But this is a great idea! Hope I run into you again and hear how it works.
