Abuse Photos: Pentagon CYA with Oak Leaf Clusters

By: Peterr Friday May 29, 2009 8:00 am

The Pentagon sure is worried about the potential release of more — and worse — abuse photos. Sadly, Obama seems to be siding with those handing out CYA medals rather than looking to shine more light on this mess.

NRSC to Limbaugh and Gingrich: Just Go Away

By: Jane Hamsher Friday May 29, 2009 7:14 am

It’s thoroughly amusing to watch GOP leaders Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich as they engage in naked Spartan wrestling for the soul of the Republican Party. Neither of them appears to understand politics in terms of anything more than personal self-aggrandizement.

The GOP has not been able to recruit serious challengers to Blanche Lincoln and Harry Reid, the two most vulnerable Senate Republicans up for re-election in 2010.

Sotomayor: Now Media Heathers Want to Talk “Character”

By: Christy Hardin Smith Friday May 29, 2009 6:05 am

Well, why not just come out and say what you are really insinuating, NYTimes?Judge Sotomayor’s sharp-tongued and occasionally combative manner — some lawyers have described her as “difficult” and “nasty” — raises questions about her judicial temperament and willingness to listen. Franken-Coleman Update: How to Elect Republicans

By: Phoenix Woman Thursday May 28, 2009 7:15 pm

Phoenix Woman here, and while I really don’t have any news on the Franken-Coleman thing — nor will I, or anyone else really, until June 1 when the Minnesota Supreme Court hears the oral arguments in the appeal case — I believe I do have some insight into the oft-asked question “How can Minnesotans, who used to be known for their sane and level-headed liberalism, elect dorky Republicans like Norm Coleman, Tim Pawlenty and Michele Bachmann to public office?”
