The California Supreme Court has upheld Proposition 8, and also ruled that the same-sex marriages performed during the Rainbow Window in 2008 are legal and valid.

Tuesday is the Day of Decision for the California Supremes. The High Court will announce its marriage equality decisions at 10am Pacific Time. Will Proposition 8 be upheld or overturned? Will the Rainbow Window marriages stand, or will they be invalidated?

You would also think that being the “it” guys for “wrong on Iraq” for years would disqualify Ken Pollack, Michael O’Hanlon and the Brookings Institute (not to mention The New Republic) from ever being taken seriously again, but alas, it is not to be.

The White House has sent out an official press notice that their SCOTUS announcement will come at 10:15 am ET. NBC News, the AP, NYTimes and SCOTUSblog all indicate that the upcoming SCOTUS pick will be Judge Sonia Sotomayor of the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. I am also hearing WH confirmation that it is, indeed, Sotomayor.
