poodle!
Hey, You’re not supposed to zed your own thread…! 8-P
Aloha, ES and Ya’ll, from the Mtn…!
Hi ES…. how is everyone this evening?
The poodle love just couldn’t hold back. *s8
Heya CT
Good evening, miss katymine. Doing alright here… It’s the Big Eureka Springs Blues Fest weekend.. lots of company…s unshine for a change… and the good cheer that comes with both.
Sounds cool, ES! Any notable names scheduled…?
What’s the BESBF? Sounds musical!
Tonite was the best meal they’ve ever served me at the base camp… Prime Rib with baked potato, with all the fixin’s… ;-)
Bunch of folks, 70 bands, The Tablerockers and of course good old Joe Louis Walker.
You have a full kitchen up there?
Nothing but music..)
I’m freezing my a$$ off ….. have to kept adjusting the thermostat ….. it is my understanding that this IV chemo makes you intolerant of the AC….. I have bumped up the temp over and over again…..My electric bill is the lowest it has ever been in the summer……
brb….. heading upstairs to turn it up….. brrrrr
Not at the summit, at the base camp, about the 9,000 ft level, they feed us while we get acclimatized to the altitude for about an hour…!
Any Aspen trees on that mountain?
Dayam, that looks like it’ll be awesome…!
Not bad for a town of two thousand, hey?
There aren’t any trees above the 10,000 ft level, nor any viable shrubbery to speak of… There are no Aspens or birch in Hawaii other than possibly some planted by individuals…! Palms galore…! ;-)
Careful around those musicians, ES…They’re always up to some monkey business.
;>)
Not too shabby at’ll…! I’m heading out for my first shift…
Good Evening everyone :)
sorry I know it is late night and everyone is relaxing, but I hadn’t seen this mentioned anywhere and it bothered me ( getting paranoid/overtired I imagine).
Newser) –’ Federal authorities are on the case after a Pennsylvania paper ran a classified ad that appears to call for the assassination of President Obama, Editor & Publisher reports. “May Obama follow in the footsteps of Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley & Kennedy!” the ad read. Those presidents were assassinated in office. The publisher called police after being informed of the ad by irate readers.’

One can only hope..) Love the Specials.. we’ve met.
Jeeesus, how did that ever make it to print?
one year Elmore did the golf circuit across the islands…… unfortunately I had just started a new job and could not go over there….. so I did a travel guide of the Islands since he was on each one more than once…..
Dayum! ES, that looks so cool. I’ve just sent an email to Poor Howard Stith so he’ll know about it for next year. (assuming he isn’t out there already at one of the venues not on the schedule)
Paper apologizes for Ad
Would love to see the Islands.. Going to see all 50 eventually. I am down to eight states. All N.E States above NY, Alabama and Hawaii.
Hi beard5… wouldn’t surprise me either..)
Well.. That makes me feel so much better now that they said sorry, not..
oops, that wasn’t directed at you Katymine, but at the apology you posted..:)
Hey pups!
es, found a mango mate’ energizer substitute – Bora-Bora mango roibos.
Nice.
How’d ya miss Alabama… ;-) Mississippi I could understand…
New England is gorgeous in the Fall at the peak of the colors… One of my most memorable views was standing atop the Old Man in the Mtn., when it was still intact, and looking down the valley…
Well, yum!
But Elmore was getting paid to see the Islands……. golf games where the TV crew sets it up, then they do a daily talking head show and then pretty much nothing else…. what a racket….
I love robios.
Heh, sliced thick with an awesome salt crust and an excellent Au Jus… Yum is right…! *g*
Never drove (Just planes then rent a car) to Georgia or Florida from AR. About the only reason to go to Alabama, so far.
Yup, his trip doesn’t count. *s*
Hey, sipping all those umbrella drinks can wear a feller out…! ;-)
I have been in Canada, Mexico, every state west of the Mississippi, I think Vermont is the only NE state I haven’t been to, TX, AR, MO,IL,KY, it is the southern states that I have not been to… from LA to FL…… including Alabama……
How’s the new job going, CTuttle? Still enjoying it?
That’s what I need to do. A serious road trip.
Summer is here and it’s almost bearable to be outside during the wee hours… Never get tired of the sunsets nor the sunrises, either…!
If i had your list, Texas would be at the bottom… unless it’s a trip to Austin, or maybe San Antonio.
Heh, all 50, all the provinces and Terr’s, except Newfoundland and Labrador, and, most of the northern provinces of Mexico… Plus, Japan, Korea, and part of Europe…! *g*
wish I could….. on weekly IV chemo….so travel days are Wed-Monday……. so it will be flying to and then travel with Elmore….
can’t stay awake….. Nite everyone….. when this hits me usually I am out on the sofa before I know it and wake up a couple of hours later…..
You sound like you’re doing well…?
Aloha, Katy!
Did you get off base much in Korea? If so, did you like it?
slight weakness in my right foot and arm but everyday it gets better….. and tolerate for being up….
NITE nite
Good night katymine, stay warm.
sleep well katy.
I had the good fortune to have a KATUSA (Korean Augmentee To the US Army) as a room mate and he took me around… I even met his parents… Personally, I’m not too impressed with Korea… The people are okay, but, it’s a dirty, cold country…
Today A lady without out hair appeared at out local coffee shop. She was in chemo young and slim. I went over an introduced myself and asked if she was she said yes. I said well go to firedoglake and meet Katymine and friends they are a supportive group and Katymine has had some tough treatment but is a clear as before. She thanked me a wrote down the web address. Then we and her friend chatted about wigs, She said that the local cancer center had her covered on those and had been really wonderful to her. We need single payer so everyone can have good treatment.
Would you believe us if you were iranian?

That’s cool, BB!
Nice of you, bb. Did the young lady have health coverage?
When I hfirst heard about it, I suspected it was Sunnis behind it… Probably, financed by the Sauds…!
What a mess. North Korea too.
Nadezhda has an excellent read up on Attackerman… I, too, am concerned about the power vacuum that’ll occur in Baghdad… However, it still needs to happen by the SOFA deadline…!
That should win a “Duh!” award.
I did not ask…but most probably as cancer treatment is expesivo.
I had a great row across the bay this evening personal best for lowest stroke count. I added power to the leg drive with a tad more glide. My vegan diet is burning the fat molecules away. It takes over twice the oxygen to burn a fat molecule as opposed to a carbohydrate so lower oxygen debt for more energy production. Planed 80 carrot seed in diffent soils…planting and harvesting is so much fun like investing in a sure thing. Dang it!
The organic veggie dinner included stir fry red peppers, chopped potatoe, cabbage. cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and sunflower seeds topped with food yeast and a little coffee. Desert: nuked potatoes with red wine vinegar…organic naturally. Really good.
Very nice of you to go over and strike up a conversation. A lot of people avoid those they know have had catastrophic medical events, as if it’s catching, or they don’t know what to say, maybe.
Boy no kidding.
We were treated well in Korea, but the sense of threat was palpable. Too many authoritarian officials about for my comfort. People were kind but very earnest. Smiles and laughter in short supply.
I bought some food yeast recently. Been so long since I used it I couldn’t think of what to with it aside from sprinkling on popcorn.
Well I have a very early start to a long day in the morning… so I need to turn in early.
Good night firedogs.
Aloha, ES!
I agree with ya… I didn’t like the squalor of the towns and Seoul is a dirty city… I remember walking down the street and felt flecks of soot bounce off my front teeth and the smog was unbearable…
Nite ES!
Nite es, sounds like a great weekend.
Lykke Li – “I’m Good, I’m Gone”
As C&L puts it… ROFL…
Good morning. Anyone up?
Yup
Wassup?
Corrected:
I sure have been having a hard time with FDL. Seems like every time I go to refresh I wind up in the hinterland. Additionally, (like now) reply doesn’t work. Not having those problems elsewhere.
Working fine for me. Sorry you are having troubles.
Today is Old New Paltz day, a big fair at Historic Huguenot Street. I’m on the Board, so I hope it’s a success. The weather should be cooperative. I’m going to be volunteering at the Abraham Hasbrouck house as a docent. It was built in the late 1600s.
Sounds fun. I have a fun day of mowing and weed eating planned.
Dandelion salad?
My grass badly needs cutting, but I don’t do it myself. I’d guess my yard guy will come today while I’m gone, which is a good thing, as I don’t care to listen to the lawnmower.
