BabyDick says:
- “Freedom means freedom for everybody”—so the states have to decide freedom to marry for themselves.
- “I would not like to see a constitutional amendment banning [same sex marriage].”
- However, Liz Cheney is not willing to say she is a “clear-cut supporter” of same-sex marriage.
- “I applaud the State Department decision to extend benefits to same sex partners. . . it is wrong to discriminate in those relationships based on somebody’s sexual preference.”
Yeah, those words inside the quotes? Real quotes. (Marcy & bmaz were in New York making me party, too—so, can you sort it out for us?)
One more thing: The attempt to conjure some sort of controversy about Sonia Sotomayor’s “empathy” out of the frame of the question, is, dare I say, a little thin, Lizzie.

thin, Lizzie.
showin’ your age, dood. (and so am I, unfortunately)
However, Liz Cheney is not willing to say she is a “clear-cut supporter” of same-sex marriage.
IOW, her sister still kinda freaks her out?
I sorta like tin lizzy
or was that mott the hoople?
mott the hoople, hands down.
thin lizzie never did any kind of “All the Way From Memphis”, for example.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7zRbDkm4Jo
“The Boys are Back in Town”? feh.
dumb question: should the opinions of Lizzie (or Meghan) matter? Perhaps they should be more like the shrubette debutantes and focus on their birthright: partying.
Lizzie? No.
Meghan? – not terribly bright, but amazingly enough, probably the closest thing the R’s have to a real human being who advocates (her own version of) R values.
Which might actually attract a voter or two, though probably not much more.
Citizen Raven:
I know dear… the “tin lizzy” dates ya though, brother…but it surely was a hell of a lot easier ta keep runnin than those 350/300 Malibu SS muscles with the dual 4 barrels and the hook-ups for in flight refuelin’!!
Totally OT, but a very interesting read, Jeffrey Toobin has an 8 page article up at the New Yorker on Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts:
No More Mr. Nice Guy
The Supreme Court’s stealth hard-liner.
The article was written apparently before Sonia Sotomayor’s nomination to SCOTUS, and factoring in her nomination now, makes the article even more interesting.
Liz is channeling Papa Dick (as she always does). Her opposition to a Constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage and saying it relates to “freedom” echo statements her dad made prior to the 2004 election when he broke with the GOP’s effort to use gay-bashing to get out the vote.
Did they wrestle you down and give you indian burn?
i want to know why msnbc is giving her more airtime than any other network?
thin lizzy–most people never heard their music except what was on the radio, their best stuff never made it on the air..wide-ranging panoply of writing. ‘the man’ was a frekin’ genius.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..&NR=1
mott the hoople–was earlier when people still hung out in basements and listened to albums for hours and hours and hours.., same one over and over and over…when they kept popping up on the ipod john gave to me, i screamed ‘no more mott, please’!!! and no more bowie!!
“I’d like, to, you know, hear waht the , you know, next leaders, like, from my, like, generation age, like, the twins….like where have they, like, been. you know? yeah, i’d like to hear them.”
i want to know why msnbc is giving her more airtime than any other network?
well, I don’t think that’s true. I think that she probably has her own suite at Fox.
BUT, to the extent that MSNBC is giving her coverage, I believe that it all comes from DoucheBorough. Maybe some of the other day-time air-heads are doing the same – I wouldn’t know.
I still say that MSNBC should trade DoucheBorough and Meek-uh to Fox for a bucket of warm spit and a Nazi-to-be-named-later.
crap, i just realized it’s thursday and i missed billy on the exterminators last night..i looove his attitude. uplifting. maybe it’s on a and e site….and i have to clean out the fridge for garbage day tomorrow…crap crap cra..
i was gonna play on here for a while, oh well..
bbl
MSNBC execs consider DoucheBorough non-disposable. They use him to deflect (flush) suggestions that their network is a mouthpiece for the Democrat Party.
Liz Cheney is an ugly shriveled excuse for a human being.
A chip off the old block, I guess.
oh yes, and i have been writing many, many letters to msnbc to do whatever they have to do to cancel their contracts..
after they played a clip of jesse ventura the other day and acted like nerdy 7th graders, laughing and laughing talking about torture, i was SICK of it and wrote even more letters.
then lizzie borden was on right after that..they did not post the clip of them acting so repulsively.i spotlighted a post and sent it to every msnbc address on there.
mika sticks her titties out whenever there is another female at the table, meow… the only one she likes is lizzie…they bonded one day when mika realized they both had wrecks as teenagers in georgetown..not kidding
mika uses the only skills she has, c–k t—-r
takes a lot to use that phrase. she’s earned it.
take care.
That’s what I say about Van Hagar. No. More. EdSam.
well, while that’s a good point (with the exception that it’s still the *Democratic* Party), I’m not sure that it’s working.
Suffering from brain-fart – who was it who said the other day day that MSNBC, from Scarborough to Olbermann, is a tool of the Democratic Party?
If the Dim-Bulb Party doesn’t recognize DoucheBorough as one of their own, what good is he to *anybody*?
Yeahm, but that put-down by Mika’s old man made it all worth it. I’m sure she had no idea he was going to verbally castrate JoeScar on the air like this:
Score!
I thought Mika’s fake Eyelashes would pop off after that remark by the General.
This prompted Zbig to reply, “You know, you have such a stunningly superficial knowledge of what went on that it’s almost embarrassing to listen to you.”
thank you.
I still need a cigarette immediately after re-living that one, no matter how many times I encounter it.
this must be Liz Cheney nite at FDL.
I’m sure she had no idea he was going to verbally castrate JoeScar on the air like this:
I think that you’re wrong there. Back when I used to watch that POS show, ignoring the blood pressure ramifications, I recall Meek-uh being skittish as a kitten, almost to the point of being physically sick on-air, when her father was coming up.
She knew it was coming eventually.
forgot–i also did the same thing about ed schultz ‘the malleable poser’ but then he got his gig on msnbc…even got a smart ass letter from ‘them’ they said ‘your loss’ when i said i would no longer be listening..they really did. i said that kind of response is exactly why i wouldn’t be losing anything.
i went from sending them links to feeling like i needed a shower. the only reason he was on the air was for his guests, the only reason they came on the show was because he was the only game in ‘town’ for democrats…also let them know that our little local station was one their only outlets in ohio and that the owner was asking for input on programming…true…told them i was one of the only people that had been trying to keep it on the air and that i no longer would be. when his tv show went on the air i realized why they didn’t give a shit.poser. he’s all ‘populace’ now, all nicey nice-’fightin’ the good fight for the people, riiight. give him a few months and see how he ties dems’ cat tails together and watches the fight. just wait.
jo–funny.
gotta go.
I can only tolerate the dead-intern-guy and his gawking retinue in small doses anyhow. But that quote just never fails to make me smile.
OK, seriously. Liz Cheney appearing all over the TV talking about her dad’s torture regime (yeah, I said it, Liz; sue me for libel, I dare you) was bad enough. But now she’s just a general GOP-conservative go-to person?
It’s so awesome that we live in a strict meritocracy. Wouldn’t want affirmative-action cases like Sotomayor getting anything they didn’t deserve, right?
Gah.
