So according to the GOP the only people who got where they are by their own bootstraps…. That everyone else got ahead due to special advantages.

Just McCain who said that women need more education to get ahead…. lets see… I have a diploma of nursing and two BS degrees in Software Engineering and Business…. what more education do I need?

Seems to me that the GOP is moving from being “The Party of No!” to becoming “The Party of Irrelevant.”

And, the notion of what a “Conservative” is has imerged from all the talk and no action (we’ve seen mostly distructive action) on fiscal responsibility, privacy and foreign entangements, to mean “racist,” slow to recognize anyone as being equal to a white guy, and irrelevant to the needs of the American public.

It’s an AIPAC-orchestrated attempt to change the subject away from torture and war crimes (for which they are partially culpable - see Doug Feith, etc.).

She’s just the “shiny object du jour” that the Fascists needed to justify removing the torture debate from the headlines. Next, they’ll invent another false terror threat, or order-up a school shooting spree or whatever else it takes to manipulate the media away from the REAL NEWS that has and will define our country.

Thanks. I’ve had the feeling ever since Tuesday’s announcement that the Sotomayor dustup was being used to push real news out of the news cycle. I’ve had the feeling that we were being misdirected by what you appropriately call the “shiny object du jour.” AIPAC, however, has not been so all that high on my list of suspects.

The media industry is in a bad way… Clear channel has laid off lots of people but what they are doing is cutting their hours so they do not qualify for benefits…. double savings….

Parts of the media are literally imploding on themselves……. Just ESPN is cutting shows and staff by 20%.
