The CIA is a greater threat to the security of America than North Korea. North Korea has not assassinated any US Presidents. The CIA has.

i just saw a headline on that. it said the ban was for “moral reasons.” Didn’t read the article to find out what those were. Funny. One lione we’re hearing so much from the GVoldbergs, Becks and Hannitys is that there is no free speech for conservatives on college campuses. wonder what they think abou this.

Vice president of student affairs Mark Hine said in the e-mail sent to [Dem Club President] Diaz on May 15 that the Democratic party violates the school’s principles by supporting abortion, socialism and the “‘LGBT’ agenda,” referring to lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender people. The e-mail said that even though the campus group “may not support the more radical planks of the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party is still the parent organization of the club on campus.”

hey. At least he didn’t say “Democrat Party.”

thanks. nice, seemingly able guy is helping us. prolly won’t be over until they replace the main breaker switch to the house, or possibly the whole breaker switch box, sigh.

good news for the easily pleased: the guy seems to love our place, and is seriously considering buying it. nature freak like us. So I’ve refilled all the feeders and the birds are singing their heads off, milkweed growing, flutterbies a-flying their colours,… Yes, I know it’s a long shot, but the occasional house has been sold really fast around here-abouts. Now if only I don’t succumb to the “vapors” a-dreaming of a rosy future, we might get through this. We don’t have a fainting couch, and the only ones with a comfy place to sit are the kitties.

Anyone. I just dubble-dare you to prep. a house for sale, with no electric, no water (great water and well, just run on electric. Ordinarily I’d be thrilled about not having to run a sweeper and wax floors, but NOWWW?!

That dear electrician has us jerry-rigged to make do and is tracking down sources for 35yr old style of good quality switches.
*crosses fingers*

p.s., Yes. Our problems are miniscule compared to what so many many people are facing in this country and around the world. I just get cranky when I can’t use the toobz. Ignore me and my obsessing over personal stuff. G’wan now! Hut hut! Pups! Go save the world. It needs your kind attentions somethin’ fierce.

re bt’s link on health care. gruber makes some very good points, but i note that he pretends that obama has proposed universal coverage when he has done no such thing and that the policy that could come much closer to universal coverage – single payer – and cost less never mentioned. gruber seems to have made a career out of trying to figure out ways to improve the private insurance system – while pretending there aren’t possibly better solutions.

http://www.pnhp.org/news/2007/…..r_on_t.php
and more

oh, and gruber says obama has proposed a universal coverage policy when he has done no such thing.

some day i’d like to have an honest political conversation about health care reform. and a pony.

thanks. He seems like a savvy sort, and has a buddy who deals in the kind he’s looking for, so we’ll see how it goes. At this point, it’s just a small bother. Before it was arcing crazily, and wayyyyy dangerous.

Really gotta go, tho my heart’s here. Hey! We set a whole bunch of old phono records out by the road yestidie and some happy soul picked up the whole lot! *g* Yes, we’d run around, and checked around – ZZEERRO sales market for such stuff when it’s all classical. Not worth the bother. Rather have someone just pick it up like that.

My sweet hubby, seeing how fast someone took it, kindly suggested I put out my sizeable stack of old competition youth orchestra records from my teen years. Sweet fella. I’ll keep him, but play frizbee with the LPs. heh.

whether it is a problem to hold public office? guess that depends on how you practice your religion.

Agreed.

It used to be very private for me also, and still is. I’m just fed up with so many people making such a big issue of religion in politics, in every sense that they find to do so. I call myself a compassionate heathen because I figure that’s what most on the right would call me, no matter what i called myself, so it’s more reactionary than it oughtta be, I suppose.
