Jodi Rell is frequently referred to as ‘Snow White’ in part because she can do all sorts of things and still get away with it. She will win re-election in a landslide because the good people of the ‘Land of Steady Habits’ will not vote her out. Ever. We have that kind of history (look up her predecessor, John Rowland, and two mayors who have all served time in prison for various misbehaviors).</p> <p>That said, on the local news, the family of a murder victim made a statement yesterday that caught my ear. It had to do with the sanctity of life and how the family was against the death penalty (wish I had the quote). This leads me to believe that, if the governor were to sign the legislation into law, wouldn’t this open a huge debate into the abortion issue - that is, if we can’t kill killers, why are we killing babies?</p> <p>Yes, it’s a stretch, but as to another question as to where is the Right Wing on this one, I have a pretty safe bet on the answer:</p> <p>Given that New England and the Northeast in general appears to be turning away from fundamentalist Christianity and Christianity in general, they won’t waste their time. WE’re all going to burn in h&ll anyway and they can do without us. Seriously, though, the northeast will probably never turn to conservatism, so we’re a lost cause and not worth spending the money on.</p> I live in CT.
